This is my favorite Mexican spot to eat at while in Manchester. I am from NYC and had so many choices, here in NH, not so much! Service is great, drinks like Margaritas very tasty. And the food worth the trip. Had enchiladas — tons of tasty chicken! Quesadilla good as well Today, I had a side of guacamole and when I visit next will make sure I get a full order to eat with the run of the mill chips! The guac will make them better! Enjoy

I come here at least once a week Best Jamaican margaritas ever!(Best tequila, no mix). Wicked good food and friendly, caring staff keep me coming back. Good sized portions. I always have enough for lunch at work the next day. My favorite is the burritos Don Juan. We love Carlos, Chris, and Daisy. They just remodeled and the new bar is awesome. Plenty of room. And enough TV’s that you won’t miss anything when the games are on. One recommendation… Have a designated driver.

Great service great food. Had pork burritos that came with rice and pico, the pork in the burrito was tender and crispy so it must have been slow cooked then grilled. It was fantastic! Chips and salsa came free to start, the salsa was fresh and delicious with just a small kick.

There’s a bunch of Mexican restaurants in the area. Some do one or more things well but this place is spot on. The food is well done every time. Most days your waiter is also tending to the bar with some support staff backing him up but I tend to go on off times. This can slow down service but when the drinks kick ass and the food is authentic who cares. I alwYs go with the attitude that this is authentic Mexican. I have been to Mexico it should be slow, relaxed and yummy! The place is going to be expanding soon and the owners have a good plan to make service more efficient. Seriously though when I walk in the door I feel like I am back on vacation in a beachside cantina. There is an extensive drink and margarita menu for all price ranges. There is everything from Cuervo to fine sipping tequilas. I prefer hornitos repasado with fresh squeezed lime juice(Jamaican style… don’t ask me why it’s called that) on the rocks no salt. Hot tomatillo salsa, fresh guacamole, the diablos de camarones(hot spicy shrimp app.) The chile verde is awesome! There is a habanero shrimp ceviche that will make you sweat. Chile relleno is killer. I could go on and on. Come on down and give this place a try. It’s family owned and you can tell they care you have a good time.

Really great food. The appetizer sampler is a fantastic deal. Get it! The bartenders and waiters are incredibly friendly. Have been here before a few times and lived all the main dishes we’ve ordered.

I have not explored Mexican Restaurants due to being gluten free and not into hot spicy foods, but this is by far the best! I had the Pollo Norteno and it was the best! The atmosphere is awesome and the staff is so friendly! I highly recommend coming here!

Very good! Price is reasonable also. My wife is Mexican, so I’m tough to impress. That being said, this place leaves me wanting to try some of their other dishes next time I visit.

I wont go anywhere else in the Manchester area for mexican food. Always fresh, great service and great value — prices are very fair especially with the quality of the food. I know they are getting ready to expand — wishing them luck!

Went there with a large party on a Friday night(there were about 8 of us). Pros: Food was amazing, drinks were really good, atmosphere was great, price was reasonable. Has a very authentic Mexican feel to it. Cons: The service is slow. Realllllly slow. There was one waiter to our side of the restaurant(probably 5 or 6 tables) and he was also tending bar. For a Friday night you’d think they’d staff appropriately.

The food was OK. I had to ask several times for the staff to bring out everything that was supposed to be included with my order. This was a hassle. Another major issue: the Margarita I ordered was priced higher because it contained premium tequila. I have no problem paying more for quality. However, I don’t think my guest’s drink or mine even contained any alcohol whatsoever. Maybe a splash at most. I will not be coming back. I’ll stick to La Carreta. At least they know how to make drinks.

I think this is the best Mexican I’ve experienced. I’m really happy with my experience here. Tucked away and quaint but full of flavor and fast service.

So, I really wanted Mexican yesterday. I was craving spice, heat, and cheesy goodness. I had seen fantastic reviews so I decided to check it out. I got the enchilada lunch special.(One chicken, one beef, with rice) the whole meal lacked flavor. ANY flavor. The enchilada sauce was so bland. The beef I had expected to be a seasoned shredded beef, nope, run of the mill in seasoned hamburger. Ick. The chicken wasn’t any better. The rice lacked any seasoning or texture. It was mush. I will never go back here. I left after about three bites. I was SO disappointed.

Molcajete!!! I travel every other week for work and eat at restaurants all over the country a few times a week and this«semi-hole in the wall» place is my absolute favorite. Food — Amazing(get the Molcajete!) Drinks — Epic menu with giant buckets of margarita that isn’t watered down with fruit juice Price — pretty cheap(especially if you’re into margaritas) The icing on the cake is that, instead of some stupid mints on your way out, they have a giant thing of York peppermint patties! Brought my brother here and told him to get a Molcajete and he ended up taking pictures and bragged about his meal to his friends. Enjoy!

A quaint little authentic Mexican restaurant that would be great for a quiet meal or first date. I came here with my mother and sister. We ordered the Pollo Chipotle, vegetarian combo #3, and a dinner combo with a chicken burrito, beef enchilada, and hard taco. The food was delicious. It was hot and fresh and very tasty. The serving sizes were generous. I ordered a Level 6 margarita, and the waitress suggested another margarita(the Margarita Jalisco) that had the same tequila and more liquor for the same price. It was amazing. My sister got a Blue Moon. No complaints there. Bonus: Andes mints and mint toothpicks at the door. In all: the food was fantastic, the drinks were delightful, and the service was spectacular.

So in love with this place! Everything is not only made from scratch, but to order. The ceviche is so fresh and delicious. The chile verde is also amazing, served in a molcajete pot. The sopapillas on the dessert menu are the best I have ever had, and the deep fried ice cream is also great. The Hot Rita is an excellent margarita made with an entire jalapeño, not overly spicy, but perfect. In short, we have been here a dozen times and have tried a wide selection of items, not one thing we’ve tried has been anything less than amazing! Best Mexican in NH by far. I grew up in Cali and have dreamed of Mexican food like this on the East coast. Thank you Puerto Vallerta!

This was not the review I wanted to write, since by and large the food was good, but the service level really sank this experience. My friend and I walked in on a Saturday night and it was a full area in the bar with a half-filled dining area. We were quickly seated in the dining area. Then we received the complementary chips and salsa with a «there you go.» OK. The chips and salsa were pretty good. Not exactly world-beating but perfectly capable. A few minutes later, our actual waitress showed up, and we actually got a copy of the drink menu at this time. I went for a beer(16 or 32 oz.) and my friend went for a margarita(a leveled system, 16 oz. margaritas, quite citrusy but hard to complain). We also ordered guacamole, a vegetarian burrito, and the Pollo Vallarta. None of the waitstaff could identify if the sauce on the Pollo Vallarta was spicy, sweet, or a mix, which seemed a little odd. They did however provide an answer as it was being served, The guacamole came lightning fast to the point where you have to believe they just have it ready to go back there. Regardless, it was tasty, no complaints for $ 5.50. The food didn’t take too long either. The burrito came with a small salad and rice. The good side is that they didn’t overdo the cheese on top of the burrito and the burrito was of very good side. The veggies could have been warmer and cleaner but it’s solid. The rice was disappointing: lukewarm and flavorless. The chicken dish was apparently pretty good as well. Overall, I’d probably call it a 3 or 4, but the service was pretty brutal. We worked with approximately five people, and the only one who I’d really want to have serve us again was our main waitress, Much of the staff was brusque or mute and clearly wanted to get out of there. Several people passed our check, clearly sitting out and ready to be picked up, as they were flipping tables(an hour before close) and no one even acknowledged our presence or that we were waiting to pay. We ended up having to search out our waitress to give her the check, as she was sitting and chatting with other staff members. That was simply the culmination of a night of not really feeling wanted there. I’d go back for the food, but I can’t see myself actually go back and choosing it over a very similar El Jimador or even La Caretta unless the service catches up.

Oook so I’ve only been here a few times now and I feel compelled to post a 5 star to help this small business get the word out. The margaritas have fresh lime juice. Get the Jallisco. a prefect silver margarita with patron citronge. I usually have to custom create my favorite marg but not here! The meals are authentic and fresh and the salsa is basically perfect. They have typical combo plates of two or three items. Almost always get a chile relleno everywhere I go… but it’s always cooked perfectly here(sometimes places undercook them n the cheese isn’t melted). I always opt for black beans too and they are al dente and well seasoned here. If you’re hungry and want something different you should get the mole poblano. It’s complexity is mouthwatering. I also recommend the chimichangas! A place can’t run on good food and drinks alone… what makes this place really great is the relaxed atmosphere from the staff. They’re all in good spirits and having a good time. I always enjoy chatting with Carlos at the bar. I highly recommend this Mexican Manchester treasure.

Puerta Vallarta(like El Jimador) puts La Carreta to shame. Everything my wife and I have had here has been phenomenal — taco salad, fajitas, tamales, enchiladas, etc. etc. Despite being relatively small, I’ve never had more than a short wait even on a Friday night. Also, solid prices on large margaritas and giant draft beers for those so inclined. The only knock I would give is that service can be somewhat slow at times, particularly when it comes to getting and paying the bill. So, if you’re looking for a quick bite, you might want to steer clear.
