I Ordered the Eastern Omelette with home-fries«crispy» and Rye toast with a Coke no ice. The menu incorrectly said Eastern was Ham Cheese and Onion, when the Eastern is really Ham Cheese and Green-peppers. It was a good Omelette, however the green peppers were bland and mushy, My Waitress, who was really nice and salvaged my experience, Said they boil the green-peppers. The Home-fries were soggy greasy and heavy tasting. the opposite of crispy. Waitress said that the cooks used butter to try to get the home-fries crispy and that was why they were soggy. She suggested that the home-fries made non-crispy would be better. She did not charge me for the meal, I wanted to pay because I Unilocal.Julien wanted me to come try again and gave me a 20 $ gift certificate for future. Toast was already buttered and I could not see any of the butter, it tasted like olive oil, which was pretty good.

Best breakfast in town. Their asparagus and prosciutto omelette is amazing! I’ve been here three times over a span of an equal number of years, and my meal has been cooked perfectly in each case. The layout is definitely not what one would consider spacious, so if you’re in a group greater than four, you may find yourself waiting and cramped. Overall, the price is actually on the low end for the quality of breakfast in most cases, and their specials are often priced lower and are eclectically delicious. Definitely recommended!

I highly recommend coming for brunch on a saturday or sunday. The eggs Benedict is absolutely incredible. Hollandaise sauce is perfection, and the potatoes finish the dish off expertly. With that being said, I’ve been for lunch and it’s horrible. I’m not really sure how a restaurant has such an awful lunch when their brunch service is so great, but it seems to be the case. The location is pretty kitchy, with knick-knacks all over the place. It feels similar to your grandmother’s house, but in a nice way. The majority of the staff have worked there for many years, and they make sure your coffee cup is never empty.

The food is delicious. It’s a «home cooked» style meal thar tastes far better than any chain breakfast place! I have been going here for years. Excellent after a night of drinking.

I went here today with a party of four and a baby, we arrived at 11:40…They close at noon(I hate doing this) and we were treated with excellent service and the food was amazing. After we finished eating, much later than noon, Julien himself came out from the kitchen to introduce himself. What a nice guy! Since we were first time customers he gave my son a dollar from the register, I have been to diners and restaurants across the northeast and I have never experienced a place as comfortable as Julien’s. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone! I can’t wait to return and stuff my face some more!

Scrambled eggs, sour dough toast & home fries. This is the standard order I measure all breakfast spots by. There is no room to hide mediocre ingredients with sauces ect. This restaurant was on the weak side of mediocre. The toast was stale and tasted as if it may have been frozen at one point. Potatoes were also lifeless and tastless. Eggs were fine, not overly oily and the coffee and service was exceptional. It is a clean and friendly environment, certainly nothing to avoid however perhaps you’ll do better with the heavily sauced /syruped items

If I could give this place a lower rating, I would after witnessing the owner spew racist remarks at two women. Julien first called an Hispanic woman a derogatory name and then tried to slap her. Then he called a mixed-race woman the N word, told her to go back to Africa and then spit in her face and ran away. Never again will I step foot into his restaurant.

This is an overdue review, I had my very first Irish eggs Benedict at Julien’s over two years ago and it ruined me for all other Irish Benny’s. I’ve tried to have Benedict’s at other places that generally have delicious breakfast and it just does not compare. I have never had anything from Juliens other than the Irish Benny but I have brought many people to breakfast there since it’s my favorite and as far as I know they enjoyed their different meals as well. Yes the service can be slow but it’s so worth it, they take their time to make delicious food!

I just picked up Ali from the bus station. I haven’t seen her in 2 years and we had so much to catch up on! We looked on Unilocal, this was the first to show up, and we were 0.2 miles away. It is a small country café, it feels like your grandmothers neighbors house. Grandma’ish décor, that is a little cheap, but still feels cozy and like you should have a dog on your lap. Ali and I talked for over 45 minutes before even ordering. The waitress came up to us many times. I think she was trying to hint to us to order, but we didn’t take the hint. We had a lot to talk about! Mind you, this is right after I had the bad smoothie, so I was hungry. I basically ordered everything from the menu. I got wheat bread, french toast, hash browns, egg whites, bacon. Yes, I indulged. The price was right, and was in fact, very cheap. The conversation was excellent, the food was not. It just tasted like too much butter, and no real flavor. It was actually pretty bad. The bread was soggy, and the french toast was yellow. it made me want to move on to my third meal before 10am. Yellow french toast? Gross. However, I did eat and was thankful for their accommodating us for over 3 hours.

Because of the attitude and callusness put forth by Rick. I will never be going back. I don’t deserve to be talked down to and treated like an imbecile for an OPINION. I’m sorry, but sometimes service isn’t where it should be, and as a chef, I know much more than you’re giving me credit for. Please darling Rick, try to be less of a dick in the future. It’s not good for Business and may push customers away. This is an opinion based site so, to shit On everyone that disagrees with you is petty, immature, and dumb. Side note: I couldn’t care less about your«rating». Maybe if you spent less time on Unilocal and more time working on recipes and customer service, you wouldn’t have to worry and be so defensive. Just a thought, Sam J.

Tried this place for the first time on Saturday during a snowstorm. Thus we had no wait. We both got the house special, I had it with kielbasa and blueberry pancakes(extra) and she had it with bacon and regular pancakes. The food was good and the service was up to par as well. I really enjoyed the pancakes and the home fries. The atmosphere was cozy and we have no complaints. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I believe a place should blow me away or do something really different and special to get 5 stars. I really wish Unilocal would go to a 10 star or a 0−100% ranking because I would love to give this place 4.5 stars or a rating of 90%. Will be returning!

I love this place! I started coming a year ago when I moved to Manchester and never had a bad experience. The Greek Omelet looks and tastes amazing! I order it every single time I go(I always tell myself that I will try something different. Maybe next time!). The people who work here are always friendly! Some days the service is fast, and some days not so much(something like this just doesn’t bother me). They do put out a very laid back atmosphere and it is usually packed, so I would not go if you are in a big rush. Otherwise, sit back, socialize, and enjoy your coffee until the yummy food comes out :)

You know they are doing something right with so many loyal fans willing to wait in line for a table. This has always been my breakfast spot, I had stopped in around 1 not realizing the time, it was during the weekday and they already made switch to lunch menu. I have never had lunch there but i have to say I was pleasantly surprised when my lunch came out. It was just as good at my breakfast… Delicious to the last bite!

I used to like this place. I don’t like it anymore after my recent visit. This place closes at 1:30pm on Sundays. I came here on a Sunday with a few friends and received nothing but attitude from the hostess. She even said to the waitress assigned to us, «They know they only have 30 minutes to eat, right?» If they didn’t want to serve us, they should have just turned us away. I almost wish they did because the breakfast was mediocre. Never coming back again.

I went to Julien’s today for breakfast, a friend had recommended them. We waited about ten minutes to be seated, which was fine for us. The menu has a lot of options, several different eggs benedicts and lots of omelettes to choose from. I got the spring benny with shaved honey ham and asparagus. It came with homefries, which were delicious and crispy. The holledaise was great. overall a wonderful breakfast. Our server was nice, but several staff members were rushing around so much that a few things happened. i had food debris brushed off a table at me while someone was clearing it(and have grease on my shorts, which i didn’t notice until later), our waitress knocked a plate she was clearing into my friend’s coffee mug while he was drinking. luckily no spilled coffee or broken teeth there. I think they were really busy and rushing, but they need to be more careful. Overall, the few mishaps were minor. The food was delicious and I will be back.

I’m confused by the positive reviews of this place, which were the reason I tried Julien’s in the first place. We went here on a Friday morning(8:30am) in July 2013. No wait. The staff were very friendly, but the service was exceptionally slow(especially for a mostly empty restaurant). The food wasn’t just mediocre; it was actually bad! We had the pancakes(ok), the French toast with bananas and«strawberries»(terrible!), and the Greek omelet(ok) with home fries(burnt and terrible!). Basically, I can make every one of these items much better at home(and I’m not a very good cook)! Strawberries were the frozen kind, and just looked messy and unappetizing, and their«juice» soaked through the French toast making things worse. The French toast itself wasn’t anything special either. The Greek omelet was passable, but had just a little bit of cheap feta and canned olives. The«home fries» were just awful(and I’m a potato fan!)… not sure how a diner-type place can screw up home fries, but these guys did. The pancake was ok, but you could make that pancake with the cheap mix you buy from the grocery store. I just felt that nothing was made well, and really cheap ingredients were used. I’m really surprised this place has this many fans… perhaps the wrong guy was in the kitchen when we visited, but after that awful experience, I’m not willing to go back to find out! There are much better places in Manchester right around the corner on Elm St.

I have been here a few times right down the street from me. They have the best grilled potatoes. She uses Yukon Gold Potatoes which are so butter on their own but they make them taste awesomer! If you read my other reviews I am a ham & Cheese omelete fan and here you can order imported ham… YUM! Super cheesy! The service is always friendly and attentive and I cant wait to go back!
