Never having been to manchester or to this restaurant before but having lived in California for 20 years… i had low expectations. I’m not a snob but New England Mexican generally tasteless or over spiced. I blame the chain restaurants like Margaritas for throwing off the idea of «good» Mexican. I usually start my critique of a place by the quality of the simple pinto. Honestly if the beans are cooked correctly and flavorful it’s a good start. I had a carnitas. I love that they have 2 sizes because i was traveling and could not afford a burrito coma. The meat was tender and savory. Beans to rice proportion was good. The picante was tasty with enough cilantro. Of course i have had better. But for the price(don’t get me started on how a burrito should not cost $ 11) it was delicious. I wish i lived closer to make this a regular joint. Go and ignore the reviews crabbing about service. It’s a taqueria with counter service and it was fine.

Great place right in downtown Manchester. I get the grilled vegetable burrito regularly, but have tried other burritos, enchiladas and the tamales and they’re all great. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Definitely worth a stop for lunch or dinner. The horchata is very good also!

Nice place and friendly staff but the tacos I had was just ok. Not as authentic tasting as I’ve had at other Mexican places but it’s still good place for lunch.

This is a nice place in the middle of downtown manchester. It’s got a good atmosphere. The food is tasty and a nice selection of hot sauce. I’ll be back.

Second time as good as the first. Tacos w/Beans and Rice. The shells were soft and fresh. I liked the pork. Every part of the mean tasted fresh and well seasoned. It is good.

I am Mexican so I can tell you what is the real Mexican food and what is not. Is easy to find places that want to imitate or create what they think is the Mexican food but this is real. I will suggest to try enchiladas or tacos Dora, both are delicious. Also ask for Lupita’s red hot salsa and if you are in the mood I will recommend a Negra Modelo beer.

This is the best mexi food in Manchester or Nashua. I would say all of southern New Hampshire, but Dos Hermanos in Concord is the real deal. Parking is difficult; made more so by the police station across the street. Food is reliable and seemingly authentic. They use fresh ingredients, well prepared. Pretty straight forward menu; adult beverages available. Go there!

I ordered carnitas tacos… the carnitas(pork) was not tender in the slightest bit, it was hard and hard to chew and lacked flavor, carnitas typically come with onion and cilantro, the cilantro was almost not existent and there were tomatoes on the tacos, which is not normal for a carnitas taco. I hope that it was just a fluke, I will return and try again and will update this.

I come here every once in a while for the burritos because they are top notch. I can only review on the burritos however since I haven’t tried any other dishes. I will say that their salsas are delicious and the service is great!

Good people, good food. This is the only place in Manchester I’m aware of that serves chorizo, and it is excellent. I highly recommend a chorizo burrito accompanied by a cup of Sangria.

My wife and I have an annual tradition: just before seeing«A Christmas Carol» at the Palace Theatre, we stop in for dinner here. Love it. You order/pickup at the front counter(like Chipotle) and take to your seat. It takes a little longer than it should to get your food, but it’s worth the wait. I order a standard burrito with salsa and chips, which is usually way too much. After eating the entire meal, I usually need a cup of coffee to snap out of my food coma before the show. All their meat is tender and seasoned appropriately, there’s the proper amount of «kick,» and portions are generous. Enjoy!

Consuelo’s leaves something more to be desired. Not bad by any means, but not fantastic. To compete with the other Manchester Mexican joints they would need to step up the game. Food– Not large portions, not small. Not spicy but not too mild. The taste is good but not quite great. Everything here is just average. It has the potential to be great food but it’s missing the«BAM» ingredient that«kicks it up a notch.» Service: No complaints here. Quick, pleasant and friendly. Price: Cheap meals around 7 to 10 bucks. Atmosphere: Cool Mexican décor and colored paints. It’s a nice vibe in here. Overall: Well, it’s a restaurant and when push comes to shove, the food is all it’s about. This food misses the mark and it’s not bad– it’s just not great.

Consuelo’s is a solid place for a quick meal at a cheap price. Located just off Elm. St by the courthouse, the place is always packed, but limited seating means finding a place to sit might be troublesome. The inside is typical of your Mexican restaurant with bright colors and it’s very clean. The food is not the best, but is a decent portion size and should settle a Mexican craving. The menu is small, but offers all your Mexican staples. The prices are the best part with tacos and burritos coming in at just over 5 dollars. It’s certainly the best place on Elm St for Mexican and is better than the corporate reheated trash at Margarita’s.

Gross place with awful service. The guy was pretty cool and fairly nice but his wife was completely unprofessional and very rude. This place’s burritos taste like the frozen kind that you microwave and are filled with horrible, very unauthentic ingredients. I think they use Rice-a-Roni in them. We got two very small burritos with a raw flour tortilla and had to deal with a very sassy, rude, owner that should not be in this business. If I could give no stars, I would. Taco Bell is probably better. Avoid this trap.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The chicken nachos are delicious and flavorful! The entrees are all great but I typically opt for any of the burritos, wet(sauce on the top) with a squirt(sour cream squirt over the top). I’m not a red wine fan but I always have a red sangria when there. It’s delicious! You order at the front and sit wherever you’d like. The owners are such nice people. It’s a great restaurant tucked away on a side street. Highly recommended!

Recently visited on a Saturday night. Several other people in restaurant but seemed more casual like chipotle than a sit down restaurant where someone serves you. Ordered at the counter(a carnitas burrito w/black beans and side of chips/guac). Had the AC blasting in the small restaurant so opted to eat outside. Food was good, but was only given a tiny tiny cup of guacamole for about 500 chips. He also included some salsa, not sure if that’s standard. Overall. friendly staff, quick service and tasty food — seems like a good casual lunch spot that is a good break from the larger mexican food chains nearby and liked it was just a bit off of the main street in town. Another plus is that they made water and cups available which is nice when grabbing food to go. I would eat here again as my burrito was delicious and freshly prepared.

Very friendly staff. Came over and told me about the sauces as it was my first time there. I loved the hot sauce. Added it to my chicken burrito. Not too many chips, but they were tasty. There is a small bar area and seems to be a variety of drinks. A grande chicken burrito was approximately 7.25. It said add 1.95 for grande. I did not see how big the regular size was(5.25), but next week I am definitely going back to try something else.

One of those very few hole-in-the-wall places that makes Manchester seem like a larger and more cultured city. This is just about as authentic as you’ll get here. The staff are Mexican immigrants, the music is stuff Mexicans actually listen to(from mariachi to norteño and banda), and they go beyond the usual Dos Equis etc. and have a more authentic drink selection. The menu is designed to cater to a more gringo audience expecting a standard burrito joint, but does have some more authentic deviations: tortas(Mexican sandwiches), tamales(seasonal), tacos al pastor(popular in areas of Mexico with a Lebanese diaspora). Food is top-notch, and wicked cheap. You’ll find them a good step below Chipotle for much more authenticity. The staff is super friendly, efficient, chatty, and likely to form a personal relationship. Definitely a must for a regular spot.

We stopped in Manchester on our way home from Montréal and we decided to give this Taqueria a try. The tacos were delicious. I got one Al Pastor and one with Carne Asada. The Asada was just delicious. They have a salsa bar, where you can pick any of three salsas. I was partial to the green spicy salsa. My BF got the Quesadilla al pastor and he also LOVED it… The staff is friendly and the place is clean and close to downtown. A must try if you are looking for good tacos in Manchester.

I was on my second day of motorcycle roadtrip through New England and was looking for good, cheap and friendly restaurant in Manchester. Consuelo’s Taqueria was exactly what I was looking for. The food was delicious and the owners(Consuelo’s sons) were so great. We discussed about travel, motorcycle, etc. The only thing I wanted to to is come back. The owner’s wife even offered me ice for my cooler! Loved it!
