Overpriced & terrible, terrible service. The food is good, but there is nothing that stands out to justify the cost. The employees are awfully rude & extremely unhelpful. It is cramped in there & their menu board is incomplete(doesn’t list the many bagel or coffee flavors they offer) & inconveniently placed. Our first trip in there, when I asked which bagel flavors they had, the cashier turned to look back, listed off 3 flavors & then looked at me & shrugged his shoulders. The second time we went in(we went back specifically for the banana coffee) we asked if they brewed the banana coffee that day, they said, «I don’t know, but you can walk back and check what’s there.» Finally, because you can’t see all of the bagel flavors that are situated behind the cluttered & chaotic counter and you ask the cashier what they might suggest to go with your bagel sandwich or cream cheese flavor, they are either truly unknowledgeable about the product they’re selling or just unapologetically unwilling to help. I won’t say that I will never go back, but it certainly won’t be often.

I love this place so much that I have been coming back here for lunch week after week… shortly after I was introduced to this joint by a friend(who is also a regular btw). The bagels are the best, blueberry bagel with vanilla walnut raisin cream cheese … Is just heavenly. My standard order: The buffalo chicken wrap is just what ur palette needs… Spicy, tangy, crunchy and on the contrary the American veggie has a sweet sauce covered by a sundried tomato wrap. Always share ur meals with a fried coz that way u can split what the other one is having or just trade in yours for the better of the two: p They sell a whole lot of fresh bakes and goodies… Check it out

Excellent bagels! They have a very good variety of bagels and sandwiches. Their scallion cream cheese is amazing! If you’re a regular, you do get just a bit more cream cheese on your bagel! They have a few favors of coffee(and regular) — both hot and iced. But if you are allergic to nuts, sometimes all the flavored coffees are nut flavored. It can be a bit slow at times because this is a popular spot. Staff could be a bit more organized.

Good food but god awful service. Not sure why i needed to wait five minutes after ordering for them to put 3 bagels with nothing on them into a bag and hand it to me. I dont mind paying more for quality but this is just price gouging. By far the best bagels I’ve had in this area but it pains me to support this type of business. Sadly I have zero control over my intense desire for bagels so it looks like I will continue to do so.

The place is filthy(ceilings by the air vents, trash cans, espresso nozzle, tables, bakery case), the employees don’t seem to know what they’re doing, and it took way too long to get my bagel. Sad, the food is good but the place is a dump.

This is our favorite place to stop for a bagel and coffee. Their bagels are delicious and there’s a great variety of both bagels and flavored coffees.

Not sure why there is such a difference between the Vernon location and here. The bagels are OK but the coffee was lukewarm and tasted horrible. But what drags this place down the most is a combo of high prices and a disengaged staff. $ 5.40 for a bagel with cream cheese and a medium coffee is pushing it. Not to mention a 12 minute wait for it. There is a strange hush with the people waiting too patiently for their food. It’s also really hard to see what bagels there are available. You have to crane your neck over the crowded counter and the staff standing in front of them.

Whyyy are the ratings so low? Do not understand. This place is wonderful. Really good fresh bagels. Delicious pepperjack cheese breakfast sandwiches. And the muffins, I could write poetry. You have to come right when they’re coming out of the oven, which on Saturdays is around 7:30. And they change seasonally too! The fall apple ones are amazing. The guy who bakes them quickly noticed my consistent early morning muffin purchases and would come over to my chair to let me know he was making a new kind next week, or that the fresh muffins would be out of the oven soon(I always waited for them, the day-old muffins were incredible too, but nothing compares to that straight-from-the-oven taste.)

I have been wanting to try this place for a while, I’m so disappointed. Bagels are not good at all. I got a cheddar bagel with roast beef it was flavorless. Service is terrible too.

Not sure I’ve ever had a luncheon sandwich on a bagel before… but today my wife and I both did. enjoyable experience. Wife had a turkey on a sesame seed bagel and loved it. I had a reuben on a plain bagel… corned beef.cheese.sauerkraut and Russian dressing all tasted fresh and was very satisfying. made perfectly. each sandwich includes a nice bag of potato chips as well as a decent sized delicious pickle. counter help might have been a little bored but they were nice and efficient. looking at their menu for a «newbie» like me was difficult as the signs are in a different direction from where the lines form. other than that. no major complaint. prices reasonable. even brought home some bagels for breakfast tomorrow!

We just came in for lunch for a soup and salad combo and they don’t have ANY soups available. I then decided to get a panini instead. They only had one available out of the options on the menu. On top of the lack of options the employees are miserable and unfriendly. It’s unfortunate because they used to have great bagels and service. Maybe it’s just the time of day. .they are also out of chips. Which you pay for with your sandwich combo. They didn’t inform us until our food came out.

I had a sun dried tomato bagel with veggie cream cheese. It was pretty good when I reordered it because they gave me a cinnamon raisin bagel instead. I hate raisins so it was really unpleasant when I bit in and realized it wasn’t what what ordered.

Five stars for the best bagels that I’ve had in the area; clearly not going to compete with some nj bagel shop, but it puts on no airs. It is what is is and what it does it does well. It’s a shame that this place doesn’t have a higher rating because for being a really decent bagel shop, it does that with aplomb. You will not be dissapointed unless you go in expecting a Michelin star.

Great fresh bagels! The bagels are the right size, fluffy, buttery, and made fresh daily. In my opinion, they also taste better compared to bagels I had from Goldbergs in WeHa and Bruegger’s. I’m surprised that Between Rounds isn’t better rated but I also found some of the other reviews harsh. Or maybe I’m not picky enough when it comes to bagels! Expect a 5 – 10 minute wait in the morning; however if that is not acceptable, there is always a Dunkin Donuts across the street. My only criticism is that I think Between Rounds could use a facelift. The layout doesn’t work well for customers who want to dine in because the tables are too close together and not far enough from the counter where customers place their order. Therefore, it can seem pretty congested. Despite that, this place has great potential and more importantly, they make delicious bagels!

I cannot believe the low rating for this place. Mostly, I think people take their bagel shops for granted! When you live in Middlegown, as I do, and for some reason, there are no bagel shops in a 10 mile radius, you appreciate them when you find them!!! I used to live in Manchester, and loved going to Between Rounds to pick up bagels, breakfast or lunch. Whenever we are in town in the morning and busy with a long to do list, we stop there for a quick and tasty breakfast. I don’t drink coffee much, but my husband enjoys the variety of flavors they offer. The bagels are always fresh and egg sandwiches are tasty. Although, next time I might see if they will do double egg because the one egg is a little lost on the large bagels. They always get my high maintenance order right(heavily toast the bagel, but don’t burn it) and don’t give me the eye roll like I get at Dunkin when I order the same. They also have a case full of sweet treats, and use Boar’s Head deli meats on the lunch sandwiches. Try the Tom Tom Club on a toasted sesame bagel with honey mustard(I swap out American for the Swiss), yum!

I like this place a lot. Their bagels and selection of coffees are great. I also like their egg and cheese sandwiches. Way better than any fast food places.

BTR does perfect bagels: dense, crunchy outside, chewy inside, moist, perfect. Cream cheese selection — pretty good. Good coffee. Decent sandwich makings, so you can have a delicious bagel sandwich. I like the egg salad. Overall, prices aren’t the best or the worst. This is a good bagel shop. When we go there it’s for a bagel with some cream cheese and a coffee. Or a quick fresh sandwich. I’m not interested in coffee mugs and tchotchkys.

Sometimes a girl just needs a bagel and coffee! Between Rounds is my favorite place for bagels! I usually get the pumpernickel bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese and a coffee. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The orders are made quickly. The bagels are made fresh daily. Whether it is a bagel with cream cheese or a sandwich all items are made to order behind the counter with the exception of some salads. There are several options for coffee, iced coffee and iced tea. The coffee urns are usually full or refilled quickly. A good cup of coffee means a lot!

Please read in detail the negative reviews so far for this place, and note how painfully irrelevant some of them are. I mean, complaining about the material used in the coffee stirrers? Complaining that they have harmless tchochkes to sell? I mean… really? Fact remains, Between Rounds does BAGELS really well. After all, isn’t that what they’re all about? And this is a notoriously terrible area of the world for bagels. (PS: Dunkin’ Donuts does not sell bagels… they sell«textureless bagel-like dough rounds» at best…) Furthermore, Between Rounds has lots of different tasty cream cheeses, and they give you a generous amount when you order a bagel with cream cheese. Ah yes, the texture and flavor contrast that is an everything bagel toasted with strawberry cream cheese… yummm… don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it! Anyway, if you’re looking for a good breakfast place(and not the Waldorf Astoria) for your rudimentary bagel and coffee needs, this is a solid place to go for the basics. Complaining about the wraps at a bagel shop is like complaining about the unfriendly service at a prison…
