Second sub I’ve tried and I don’t understand the 5 stars. Today’s Spicy Italian had nice selection of meats and cheeses, but the bread tasted a day old and was nothing special. I peeled away bread parts off of my first half. The second half, I peeled bread parts off because they got soaked with the oily dressing. The dressing was tasty, but it made the bread soggy. Cute place, but I’m not a fan.

Real non-corporate sandwiches… from a deli(VA suburbs style). I found one in Manassas and smelled it when I walked in. I was welcomed, served, and wished well after my meal. Good people, good sandwiches. Even better… ABC On. Lol. Sat in smallish dine-in area and enjoyed my Roast Beef and Provolone w Everything light Mayo lol. If you are a Sandwich Guy(or Gal)… you should travel to the lil strip mall location and try it. Otherwise you might think, why bother, it’s not glamorous nor trendy? But Sandwich Lovers will drop in for a good sub to go. Enjoy.

Found this place while getting lost in rain storm looking for rehab center. Had a Sopresatte w provolone and all the fixings. Excellent deli sub the way it used to be before folks got lost in the subway. Real meat and whole slices piled high none of that cut in ¼ c***. Loved the sweet peppers touch very similar to Italian Store in Arlington. Thumbs up!

This is the second review for this establishment. The food is still good. Nothing has changed there. However the last four times(different days and time of day) I have try to order for delivery. Each time I have been given a different reason as to why they can not.(And yes A deli does deliver to this location.) Be it the driver is gone, they are low staff, etc. In short if you are eating in or picking up do it. Food is fantastic. Customer service is less than desired. Especially when there are other places in town.

Great night, fantastic service(thanks staff). Foods were obviously incredible, and wowed as much as I’d expected to be. Felt amazing at A Deli Italian Food.

I don’t live in the area, but whenever I am in town I always have lunch here at least once a trip. The sandwiches are amazing and the portions are ginormous! If you leave this place hungry it’s your own fault!

So sad to find out that this place has been here for the entire time I’ve lived in Manassas and I’ve never been in until now. I lived in Brooklyn in my younger years and since moving south have been searching for a Delicatessen that was comparable to my old faves. I FOUNDIT! Finally! I got The Smokey and was blown away when I ate it. I could only eat half because they made sure that I got my money’s worth. I bought a box of Italian cookies straight from Brooklyn. Amazing! No more chain delis for me. This is the only spot from now on. Next time The Super Big A. I can’t wait!

Not my first time eating here, past experiences have always been positive… maybe 2stars is a little harsh, or maybe I could/should write a positive review too… Anyway, went for a sub today and honestly feel like I got jipped, ordered a Chicken Salad Sub, no tomato, lettuce onion and banana peppers, it was«to-go» so I didn’t check it in the store(my bad for sure)… The sub was packed with lettuce, was very sparse on the chicken salad and had a couple of banana peppers strategically placed at the end of the sub so that it looked full, well it wasn’t… Not what I expect from A Deli nor any retailer, will have to rethink before returning

I only came here based solely on Unilocal reviews; I’m guessing the cold cuts are the attraction because I just had the nastiest steak and cheese ever! I don’t know what this meat is, but it is unseasoned and has an odd texture. My husband had a taste of my meat and is currently on the way to get a refund for his. Unfortunately I was starving so I scrapped off the meat and just ate the bread and toppings. This was my first and last time trying a new sub place. Since Dave’s is closed, I guess I’ll stick with Tony’s or Jersey Mikes. Smh

My friend/co worker told me about this great deli. This was first time grabbing a bite from there. I bought 3 awesome sandwiches. The cute couple that owns the place, were great. The sandwiches had such a massive amount of meat on them we could only eat half of it. Also had a bite of a yummy Italian dessert and let me say the cookies were fantastic too. Great place to stop in for that old fashion deli sandwich.

First time visitor this week… BEST sandwich I’ve eaten. Great taste and reasonable price. Returned the next day for more! Huge selection of craft sodas and other treats to enjoy with your lunch or take home. I do enjoy Jimmy John’s on occassion, but the one next door to A Deli doesn’t stand a chance.

I have had no better submarine sandwich anywhere in the world. Oh how I miss A Deli! There are a number of other items in the deli, but honestly I only ever had eyes for the sandwiches, which are first class! Great variety; consistently good; friendly service; a solid go-to!

It took me awhile to find this place because its a hole in the wall type of establishment but I am happy I did. Fresh deli style sandwiches was my main attraction. A friend of mine told me to try the Italian Stallion. I did and it was delicious. My goal is to try all the of the subs offered on the menu. A Deli has a special place in my heart and stomach.

I’m going to bump them up a star; they’re not the best Italian deli on the planet, but they are far and away the best in PW county. Don’t waste your time in the chains. Come here for some real food. Today my son and I split an 8 inch«Il Mastro»; Prosciutto, Mozzarella(the real stuff), tomato and onions. $ 7.99. Very satisfying.

Wrong, sir, wrong! Under Section Thirty-Seven B of the contract signed by him it states quite clearly that all offers shall become null and void if – and you can read it for yourself in this photostatic copy: «I, the undersigned, shall forfeit all rights, privileges, and licenses herein and herein contained, et cetera, et cetera. .. fax mentis incendium gloria culpum, et cetera, et cetera. .. memo bis punitor delicatum!» It’s all there, black and white, clear as crystal! … so you get nothing! You lose! Good day, sir! (Oh, I’m sorry, what was that?) Pardon my Willy Wonka rant, but yes, Jersey Mike’s. You lose!(sorry again I’m just being a bit passionate behind the screen right now). But this explains how I felt after eating here. A sub here makes a Jersey Mike’s sub look amateur. A Deli’s Italian sub is fantastic, original, and authentic(and you get much much more), no buts about it. I got the $ 12 lunch deal(advertised here). It was totally worth it. Got the classic Italian too. Comprised of 5(yes that’s right) meats and provolone cheese. Yes, it was yummy. The bread it came on? Tasted exactly like New Jersey. Red wine vinegar and olive oil to boot too. That’s all you need. Plenty of meat(and fresh ingredients layered perfectly), lots of cheese, and with the deal comes a sweet(I got a blondie, which has tremendous potential but it had nuts in it, booo). It also comes with chips and a drink. Meal comes with a pickle too(always take the free pickle). The sub is big too. It was a tremendous hit with me, considering I’ve been looking for a place like this for a while. It blows Jersey Mike’s Italian sub right out the window. This is the real deal. The Italian Store in Arlington might come closest to this, but my, I am very, very happy that I went here for lunch and will definitely stop in here again. Only knock on why its not 5 stars was because the Blondie fell apart too quickly, and they didn’t quite specify the Blondie contained nuts, and the sandwich is somewhat messy. With that said, I will return here, as I was truly in a «world of pure imagination» with their food.

This a wonderful place to eat if you’re in the mood for an awesome sub! I’ve been coming to this place for years and I love it. The Crazy Italian is fantastic, Steak & Cheese is Yummo and I love those Zapp’s chips they have! They even have a little Italian market that has all kinds of sauces, pasta etc. The reason for the 4 star rating instead of the 5 is the delivery service. I’ve attempted 3 separate times to order delivery and for what ever reason, they couldn’t deliver. Still…Great Food, Friendly Service & Consistency make A Deli, A+! In my book!!!

A coworker told me they had the best Italian subs around so when I was in the area for work I thought I’d stop in. He was right. The staff is great, everyone is very friendly and the food was incredible. I went back the next day for lunch again. Great sandwiches with lots of options on the menu. I will definitely come again.

Went there again recently, and again, took friends along. This is the kind of restaurant that you have to share. We got a chicken salad sub, a cheesesteak sub, and a pastrami on wheat, and it was all fantastic. Their portions are very generous, which tells you its legitimate Italian style. Don’t order the large sub unless you’re SERIOUSLY hungry. Also, its well worth it to add a canoli and some of the specialty drinks they have in their cooler like the orange dreamsicle soda. One thing to note: they have both hot and mild cappicola so be sure to specify which you’d like. I forgot to ask for hot and got mild but that was my fault. The staff here are personable and really helpful and always happy to chat with the customers.

They put the ‘deli’ in delicious! It’s a hole in the wall shop in a strip mall, but the food is great and generous portions. They described my 8 inch classic Italian as a small, and I could have had half of it for lunch and been full. As it was, it was so good, I ate the whole thing. Bread was soft and chewy, and the deli meats and toppings very fresh. Customer service was very friendly, and we got our sandwiches in no time at all. Went in at 2pm for a late lunch and they were still doing a brisk lunch rush. Will definitely make this a regular place.

Having a really good deli in your neighborhood is as a plus. I’ve been in Old Town Manassas for two years and today I found it. I’ve been spoiled by experiences at some of the top deli’s in the US. Think Carnegie Del of NY& Canter’s in LA. It’s nice to have that experience but it also spoils you for other deli experiences. Today I found ‘A Deli Italian’, not too creative on the naming you may agree but it puts them in the top listing of the phone book. Today, I tried the Reuben, always a good barometer for a Deli I think. It was excellent, good bread quality, excellent meat and fairly priced. The owner is a real pro. He has done an excellent job of creating a menu filled with great choices. He’s also stocked the store with a nice selcction of Italian dried goods. I was impressed that he had several types of Italian coffee’s. i went on a Sunday morning around 11a nd the entire time there was a steady stream of customers. He greeted each one individually and each he seemed to know and engaged in small talk. Just what you might expect from a neighborhood deli. Check it out, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
