A nice place west of Short Pump. I have been many times for lunch and never disappointed. The crab cake, sailor, Cuban, blacken tuna, and burgers all great! Love the potato salad as a side. Dark warming décor and atmosphere. Outside seating and bar when the weather is nice. Sometimes the service can be slow out there. A definite must try if you are in the Manakin Sabot area for lunch. Also by far the best choice in that area for lunch. Never been for dinner so no comment on that. The have live music on the weekends that I hear is very good but haven’t ventured there myself.

After driving past this local bar/pub/restaurant many times, I was in the mood for lunch today and pulled right in their parking lot. I had never been inside. There are two separate entrances, one for the bar/pub and one for the restaurant side. Once inside I realized it really didn’t matter which door you choose. A waitress said you can sit anywhere you want. The Restaurant area was a little crowded today for lunch so I sat down at a two top on the pub/bar side. It’s not a big place at all… kinda small in fact. Also for a Sunny beautiful day outside, it was very dark inside. I had a hard time seeing my menu it was so dark. My friendly Bartender came over to get my order. I quickly decided that on the first visit I’d order a burger. That’s my test when I find a new spot like this. I chose the Black & Blue. It’s served with blackened seasoning, blue cheese crumbles, and cheddar cheese. The burger arrived and it looked fantastic. The fries that came with it not so much. However this is where I explain that I am a french fry snob and only like a few styles, and this one wasn’t one of them. However the burger, even if it’s a frozen pub burger, was worth the stop. It practically melted in your mouth. And was quite tasty. When I asked my server about it she explained that the au jus that keeps them moist and tasty! That’s a new one on me but it worked! I am pretty sure this place rocks the happy hour and I must stop by again.

$ 5 food specials every night, and the portions looked huge, although I was just here to visit the bar on my Christmas shopping rounds. It’s always fun to have a little spirit while you’re shopping in the Christmas spirit. The bartender was so friendly and made a pretty good old fashioned with rail Rye. It’s a mostly older crowd. But very warm and inviting atmosphere. Inexpensive and worth the trip further west than Short Pump.

Great food, great service. Nice to dine in the indoor patio. Would highly recommend. Everything came out fresh and hot, they were running a bucket of beer special that was very good.

Good food, albeit a tad overpriced. I’ll agree with others that the outside appearance is misleading. It looks quite dive-y from the road, but the dining room is quite nice, albeit very small. But what we love here is the bar & patio. It’s a great little place to go & have a few beers while listening to the live music. Wait staff & bartenders are always friendly. And they have great appies as well, perfect for sharing. Interesting chef specials as well, we’ve tried several and always been pleased. All in all, a fun place to kick back & relax with a brew or two.

Fantastic restaurant! Table service was great and the ambiance had a nice southern casual feeling to it. The food was impeccable. The prime rib was the best i have had in the metro area thus far and the Caesar salad ranks up there as well. Great date night place and 1 of only two places in the manakin sabot area worth eating(Yu’s China bistro has fantastic Chinese).

My husband and I dined here for dinner with another couple on a Saturday Night. It is a busy spot and we had about a 30 min wait. It’s a bummed when places do not take reservations. I understand why but it is still inconvenient. We were finally seated and had a wonderful experience. Our server was on point, cheerful, helpful. My husband and I both got the Cuban Sandwich and split the Wedge salad. The food was incredible. I loved the atmosphere, cozy and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Looks are deceiving from the outside. Very nice spot to eat and have a drink. Much nicer inside then you would think. Happy hour food prices look real good. Worth the trip.

We have driven by the Sunset Grill many times and finally visited last Saturday. We were looking for a casual dinner with the family and from the outside, the Sunset Grill looks like a burger and fries kind of place. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and discovered a more upscale dining room and a menu that even features steak from Hondos. From the positive first impression through the end of the meal, let’s just say things went downhill. Our server was very nice but I’m assuming it was his first day on the job and most likely his first day as a server. He misinformed us about some key things on the menu, didn’t know how to open or pour a bottle of wine, and had to be reminded 2 – 3 times every time we needed something(like a fork). Our meal was served extremely quickly. So quickly, in fact, that our salads didn’t arrive until we were halfway done with our entrée. But the problem with the speed is that my bone-in pork chop was raw in the middle. My wife was told her ribs were«dry rubbed» but actually came smothered in BBQ sauce so they went back, too. My daughter had a salad with tomato, mozzarella, and basil but the kitchen used spinach leaves instead of basil. Despite of these issues, all we got from the server was, «I don’t know what’s up with the kitchen tonight». Not what you want to hear when dropping $ 100 on dinner. I may go back to the Sunset Grill but only for beers and live music. Skip the dining room.

Live this place. Food is amazing and service is great. They do get crowded so keep that in mind. With good food and service, a wait is to be expected.

I’ve returned a few time since my initial review. I’ve had the Ribs(fall off the bone), Hamburger(good deal on $ 5 Hamburger day), and the Sailor Sandwich. All were pretty good. The Service has been spot-on the last few times. We had a new Waitress the last time and she did everything perfect! My friends liked the local relaxed atmosphere and felt at home on their first visit there. My lunch sandwich was a sliced prime rib with bacon cheese and mushroom, AWESOME!!!

Great specials, generous portions, everything always cooked with care. Never been anywhere near dissapointed with the food. Just beware, it is a bit overpriced, and service is only so so. My family and I like it though, we have been here a few times and will continue to visit for sure.

This place to me is a local favorite, they had a band later on, and good portions, I had the pork chop, and the salad was delicious. I still wish they would get some new bar stools, and if your eating in the dining room, there is a big glass wall to see the bar tv, which I think is cool, but the drinks are a little pricey. the bartenders are nice though. outdoor patio if you want to sit outside.

Great Sunset Penne with fresh shrimp and vegetables. Good patio for post-golf buckets of beer and shrimp. Service is excellent.

Not a bad place for lunch. In a freestanding older building, there are a few different seating areas – outside patio, inside bar, and inside restaurant, where we sat at a booth. Shortly before noon we were one of the first customers but the place filled up as we ate. The menu is sandwiches and burgers. I had a blackened mahi sandwich at the server’s suggestion and it was actually very good – cooked medium rare, pink on the inside and moist. Service was fast and good. I would go back, especially given the lack of good choices in the area.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise in that I had one of the tastiest rib-eye steaks in my life. Prices were reasonable, and it has a great, casual atmosphere. Would come back again if in the area.

Sunset Grill is one of the few restaurants in the Centreville area. Mainly they keep in business due to the large crowd of folks that come over from West Creek Office Park(CarMax & CapitalOne folks can be seen there in droves). They have a nice covered deck and a closed off dining area with a bar in between. They allow folks to smoke on the deck so if this bothers you, beware. The deck often has live music and the place can get packed. The food is pretty good and definitely a step up from the Corporate Cafeterias. The staff is generally very nice and accommodating, but often gets slammed so don’t show up if you are in a hurry. I’ve tried many items on the menu and don’t think I’ve been disappointed with any. If you want solid fare, good(occasionally slow) service in a nice environment or if you want a business lunch«off-campus» near West Creek, this is the go to place.
