Not only are they super friendly, have great clothes and good deals, they have also given me a free sticker and a free wax on my board! The manager is great, and all the boys are great. Shout out to Matt!

Great rental and maintenence service and very competitively priced. Not so much in the retail and apparel department. Overall I’m very satisfied with my experience at Wave Rave.

I’ve been in this shop on multiple occasions and each time I have received horrible customer service. On 1 occasion we bought audio chips which didn’t work, when we tried to return them the next day we were told they could not be exchanged. We had to send them to the manufacturer for exchange which took 2 weeks. On another occasion I called to see if they had something in stock and was told«yeah we should we usually do» and when I asked him to check he told me «no it’s on the other side of the store and we’re busy». They seem to only hire young punk kids with zero customer service skills!

I have to update this review as the person I’m speaking about(Tim) sent me a personal e-mail THESAMEDAY of my original review. Unfortunately I just read it now(I thought Unilocal would send me some type of notification). It was very heartfelt and he apologized as his employee did say I could return it. He offered to make good on the return and I was impressed by the genuine e-mail. I caught him after a bad day as everyone have these. But not everyone would send such a heartfelt apology. I’m very impressed and thank you Tim for offering to make it right! TIm — Please accept my apology for not seeing your e-mail earlier and updating my review so late. I will go out of my way to give this store my business in the future.

I was trying to buy a pair of boots, the staff to not care whether I did or I didn’t. They were all sitting around watching TV in a very very bad attitudes. When you’re buying a $ 400 pair of boots you expect people to care. I would never go back. Ever.

The absolute best shop in mammoth. Blown away at how great the staff is. Very generous and fair. Although it’s a bummer that the steepwater boards aren’t available anymore the arbor is a close second. These guys will really take care of you, especially if you’re someone who has been riding longer than most of the employees have been alive. Thanks for the solid set up kids. Every time I do buisness there I’m well taken care of. Your pal, loyal old man rider.

Worst customer service. Sold women’s pants to a guy and refused to return. Honestly the worst experience. Super expensive. Trashy people talking about drugs while helping people.

Very slow, crappy over used gear for rental and was charged an extra day for bein 8 minutes late on rental return and was only due to the fact the only attendant was chatting away with a client… they lost $ 400 on merchandise i was going to buy for not being flexible. Karma… got to love it!

Super disappointed in this store, I called asking a few questions and I got to talk to the rude manager, jimmy. Won’t be getting anything from here when I stay in the area in a couple of weeks. How is thus guy a manager, when he is so rude to people. Don’t go here. They don’t seem to know what good customer service is.

This store is just awesome. It’s huge, has a great selection of gear, but doesn’t feel like a Walmart or sport authority like some others on the main drag. We were looking for some bindings for me and a board rental for my husband who is intermediate but never bought his own board. Tim literally look an hour to go over my husbands stance, riding style, preferences and made suggestions on different boards to rent. He discussed rocker and camber and mixed boards and the different brands and what to expect. He also said if the board worked out we could buy it and get the rental taken off the price of the gear. Well, my husband really loved the board and bindings so much that we went back and bought them. Tim was there again and so helpful getting it all set up exactly how the rental had been. He even threw in an awesome And matching jones trucker hat :) Yes, it was busy, but we were there over New Years and that was to be expected. I was so pleasantly surprised with the level of service and the extent that Tim wanted to ensure we got the right gear. It was one of the best retail experiences of my life! If i could give them more stars I would Tim you’re the best!!!

Great rentals. I just needed boots which came out to $ 15. They also have a shop with snowboard boots, clothing, and boards. Downstairs you can buy used boards for a discount. When you buy a board, they will help you with everything else you need. The staff is really knowledgeable and friendly.

Wanted to look at and buy a nice pair of Anon ski goggles and could not get anyone to open the cabinet. Dealt with two very inexperienced and incompetent /rude staff members who could not locate rental paperwork and did not care.(Rental paperwork has all your credit card info and they are supposed to shred it upon return of equipment). One of them told us she was the manager,(which she wasn’t) and didn’t want to do anything about the situation. Finally found a staff member who seemed to care about his job and immediately located our paperwork. There are plenty of other businesses in town that are much more appreciative of customers. Note to the owner/management: train your staff in customer service. It’s a shame to lose revenue from employees who just don’t care about service. I’m sure in this town you could find people who want to work and care about their jobs.

Good experience here. Snowboard rentals are about $ 20 for the basic setup. They take your credit card info for the cost, plus for incidentals. When you turn the snowboard back in, they shred your agreement papers. The workers were pretty nice here. They are a bunch of riders themselves, so expect a younger crowd. Everyone was really nice, but they did not spend that much time with us to make sure we got the right setup. They changed out the sizes we needed, but we had to ask. At first they just gave us the initial setup, and walked away to help other people. They give free waxes here if the light is on outside, so bring your gear if you are renting for someone else. The snowboard we got was the basic setup(the cheapest one). It was an old burton board and bindings. The board had a pretty big chip off the topsheet, and the bindings had a weird locking mechanism(not screws). They offer a more expensive setup that uses last years demo boards as well, but I didn’t use that option. The shop itself seems to be well stocked with almost everything you could want. Prices are roughly retail.

Love me some Wave Rave, biggest snowboarding shop I’ve ever been in to, just wish they weren’t so expensive and carried some other brands beyond the big name ones.

Quality repair done to my snowboard, fairly priced and still holding up. Re-laced my Burton boots with a new Speedzone quick lace kit, which is not easy for someone who hasn’t done it before. Only charged for the laces and comped the labor as a warrantee service. Bought a GoPro and a Lifeproof iPhone Case because I had a good experience with the repair shop. This place has all the newest tech gear, always cutting edge. The store itself is like a gallery worth poking around.

Picked up a leash and stomp pad for my gfs board. Would have been in and out in 3 mins, but my eyes go «Ooh, shiny!» when I get around board gear. I already have everything I need for my board, but this place makes me feel like I need more. The stuff we picked up was cheap! Even on-season, the prices were pretty good. Rental gear was cheap enough we debated getting gear here, heading to June, and driving back to mammoth to drop them off. Come here before going to the mountain to rent, the prices are almost 20 bucks cheaper.

By far, the best board shop I’ve been to!!! Huge selection, welcoming atmosphere, and knowledgeable staff. First, the selection: It’s pretty much a two story toy store… for snowboarders. Tons of boards, bindings, and boots, a full wall devoted to gloves, and anything else you could possibly need to hit up the local resorts. They even allow you to demo out some of the more popular hard goods. Next, the staff: they all know what they’re talking about, which is surprisingly hard to find in other shops, and even though they are knowledgable they aren’t know-it-alls. It’s always off putting to get that attitude when you’re asking genuine questions. As for service I couldn’t have gotten a better experience: They helped me find exactly what I was looking for in my next board and bindings, took the time to explain how different tech and shapes would feel and ride, and even waxed the board for free. To top off a great experience, they even asked me to bring in my old setup so they could match the stance. The guy even made sure that the straps on my new bindings were properly adjusted to fit my current boots. I definitely recommend this place and will be back in any time I’m in town. Well done Rave Wave! Keep up the stoke!
