I just celebrated Mother’s day there with my family and I loved it. My family also loved it. The banana cream pie was a real delight. –Trish

This is an update of my previous review. I received a call from the owner, Pino. He was so gracious and made sure that I got my 100 points. That is great customer service and follow up. In this day and age, customer service is everything. He was truly apologetic for the oversight. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Pino.

I fell in love with this place when my fiancé decided we’d be having dinner here on Valentines Day. Its really romantic, its dark which i really liked, the chairs and tables are not that close to each other and the staff is really friendly. I recommend you do reservations because it was packed when we went, but maybe that’s because it was Valentines Day. The food is to die for !! Just an amazing place. Cant wait to go back

Authentic, Italian delicious food with always welcoming consistently warm hospitality. Reasonable prices and one of the secret dining rooms of the Malibu locals. Bravo!

My boyfriend and I came here for valentines weekend. Great location close to Malibu beaches. When we arrived the host was very kind and attentive. The atmosphere was perfect for a date night: quiet, dim lighting, friendly staff. For that weekend they had a special Valentine’s Day menu. I ordered the Valentine’s special crab spaghetti and my boyfriend had the veal ravioli. The spaghetti was crab in the spaghetti was tasty but overall the dish was okay. The veal ravioli was delicious though. They had a great assortments of wines that we enjoyed and the peach dessert that we chose was good. Overall had a great Valentine’s dinner.

I went here for the first time last night with my wife. We celebrated Valentine’s Day here. I’m very happy that we came. We both thought everything was delicious. Wonderful caesar salad, fantastic pasta and tiramisu. Staff was friendly and professional. Only downside is limited parking and noise from the street traffic.

I can’t say enough. Fantastic selections on the menu. Great wines from top to bottom on the list. But it was the level of service and care that really took it to another level. They made us feel like family.

I came here with high expectations off a recommendation from an LA Local and honestly expectations were not met. At first they tried squeezing us into a hallway filled with tables parallel to a road flourished with honking horns… I get it, it’s Valentine’s Day, you’re trying to get the most revenue for your restaurant but that is something that guests won’t appreciate. Once moved to a less crowded/noisy table and food was ordered, it became clear we would only be drinking one glass of water that night. Besides to drop off the subpar food, waiters were nowhere to be found. I looked past the cold bread and unmelted cheese in the eggplant parmesan and felt adventurous enough to order off the special menu and ordered the«homemade» lobster ravioli. #mistake. Dish in general was cold and ravioli was chewy, I wish I went with my wife’s order of the grilled chicken(which is why this review has 3 stars). Chicken had great flavor and was paired with tasty potatoes. Needless to say, I’m going to have a conversation with the person that recommend this to me. Side note: the manager/owner up front was friendly and accommodating.

I don’t review many restaurants but I have to give Gravina props. This place is one of those little gems that deserves accolades. We’ve been here about five times(not very many good choices in Malibu) and every time we’ve left praising the food and service. The owner or manager(Pinot) is always friendly and makes us feel welcome. All the waiters are great, all from Italy, very family style atmosphere and makes you happy to give your business to them. The food is consistently good. Everything we’ve had there has been delicious. Pizzas are great, lasagna is amazing, homemade pasta specials are always terrific. We’ve brought friends and family and everyone has the same reaction.

Amazing real Italian food. Love the service ! Angelo the owners nephew is very friendly and funny. They are able to make many modifications and plates that are not listed on the menu so give them a try !

First time here, mentioned that to the staff as we entered. They were super friendly. Explained the menu to us. The waitress told us about her favorite dishes. Food was delicious. A lot of olive oil in the food so looked oily but still tasted great.

We ate at Gravina last night for my sister’s birthday. I inhaled the wild boar ragu with homemade pappardelle… absolutely gorgeous flavor! We shared the octopus salad as a starter, also delish! They don’t have a liquor license, so its only wine, but wine and italian food, who needs the Negroni! Yum yum yum! Only minor thing would be that it is in Malibu, but without any of the sights of Malibu, it has no view or beachy experience. So for us, it was a very long drive without the ocean view… but the food has us at hello! Staff is also super friendly and very accommodating!

Outstanding spot in Malibu. Traditional italian menu and fare with exceptional service. Our party of six on Sunday was treated perfectly from start to finish. Loved the antipasti — octopus is excellent. Each person loved their meal. Spinach ravioli is excellent — not too heavy and very fresh. Great, low key spot.

So good! On the road heading to Santa Barbara and find this great Italian place on PCH in Malibu. Let’s start with the food, it was excellent. Home made pasta bolognese and spaghetti frutti de mer yum! Came out piping hot and so delicious! Next, the service… Max was fantastic, attentive and so knowledgeable of the menu. Atmosphere is quaint, rustic old world style. Very comfortable. Recommend this restaurant highly! Extra bonus: owner on site and so friendly! You gotta try this place!

I am from NY, not that I think I am a great foodie and judge of Italian food. everyone I know, knows that I am. New Yorkers know this about Italian restaurants… sit down and watch when a waiter brings u their bread cause in Italy or in NY it’s the first step that determines their success. they FAILED !!! Bread was def bought at ralphs and everything after was downhill. SUCH A WASTEOFMONEY, we went to Giovanni’s after and felt @ home. DONOTWASTEYOURTIME @ THISSOCALLEDITALIANRESTAURANT… NEVERAGAIN!

I work in the area. I’ve never been to Sage, the restaurant that existed here prior to this one, so I’m not going to do any comparisons like everyone else is. This place is interesting. Small. I’m pretty sure I can confidently and accurately say that everyone that works here came directly from Italy. Recently. Authentic. I like that. However, the down side is understanding what your server is saying when it comes to the specials and desserts. That I didn’t like so much. Her voice and accent were very pleasant to the ears, I just couldn’t decipher most of it. Their menu isn’t vast, but all your Italian staples are there. They have appetizers from salads, to calamari, to burrata. Menu consists of pizza, pasta, meat and fish. Pretty much everything you’ll find anywhere else. Their drink selection is okay. Their wines by the glass are pretty generic, but their bottle selection is decent and long. They bring you some bread with some oil. They don’t ask if you want more after you devour the four pieces. Disappointed. This girl loves her carbs. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi while my dinner date ordered the shrimp risotto. I had a glass of Pinot Noir(Beringer– meh). No appetizer, although the people over at the table next to us ordered the Burrata with eggplant salad and I would definitely try that should I ever find myself back here. We were told upon our food arriving that is not customary to add parmesan to dishes containing seafood. I really didn’t care about that and kind of wanted my parmesan anyway, but decided to go with what the Italians felt proper. The food was actually very good. Not heavy at all, but nothing amazing. All in all a pretty okay experience. Prices are actually reasonable for Malibu, but along the lines of something a little more upscale in other areas. Parking is minimal. I’d return to give them another shot, but I’m not dying to make a repeat trip.
