Friendly staff and there were summer sales going on! :) Can’t go wrong with buying clothes that are on sale! Plenty of parking in the lot outside.

How rude of them to bump out customers while they came in 10 minutes before closing time. It doesn’t matter, you have to accommodate everyone. So did not make my personal shopping experience any bit nicer. I ended up not buying anything because I didn’t feel comfortable. They are two older workers, 1 male and 1 female, who kept complaining they were there all day and apparently we’re supposed to feel bad they have to do their job until closing. It doesn’t matter what time you come in, you shouldn’t feel rushed to make a decision. Both of those employees should be fired by management. Taking my Banana shopping experience elsewhere!

This BR consistently has better service and better merchandise than any other. In fact, generally I avoid BR at all costs, however these guys are actually fun to deal with. Definitely will be back.

The Malibu location of Banana Republic has the widest selection of higher end BR clothing between Thousand Oaks and Topanga, also they’ve always had my sizes in stock. I was directed here after visiting the factory outlet in Camarillo, the location in The Oaks, and the one in Topanga. I will probably come straight to the Malibu store location from now on. If they could only carry the higher end Monogram collections it would complete them. Nice service, had the widest variety of sizes and styles in stock between three other locations we visited that day looking for Monogram and Heritage style suits. Yes we drive around a 100 miles just looking for the right suits.

A very nice store located in Malibu. The staff was more than helpful and the selection was perfect.

Everytime I walk into the store I get great service. There is always someone who has the time to help you find the perfect outfit. I love BR because I work in Real Estate and at a moment’s notice you will need to get a nice clean shirt or sweater to keep you warm for you last min open houses. I always feel welcome here even when I don’t buy anything. Their selection is great too. Thanks Banana Republic!

When you’re on a student budget, have only half an hour to spare between classes and studying, stuck 30 minutes away from any great shopping, and living in Malibu for three years — you end up at this BR more than you’d expect. Given it’s beachy and out-of-the-way location, this location definitely has more ‘sale’ items left over. Racks and racks of them, so you’re more than likely to find your size of that piece you painfully want but found only in XS or XL at the Grove. There is always one lady who was really nice to me, but the majority of the staff is pretty nonchalant. They certainly won’t say anything like, «Please feel free to ask if you have questions,» but they’re helpful to the extent they should — e.g., grab you a different size if you’re in the dressing room.

In the words of the gents from the skit ‘Men on Film’ from In Living Color, «Hated it.» It was my first trip out to Cali. & I was having a blast since I was asked to be the photographer for the X Games out in L.A. I was ecstatic to not only get my first surfing lesson, but as a part of the X Games program I was able to be taught by some pro surfers! Being a true beach-a-holic I was really honored to have that opportunity & be the one out of our lesson group to the ride waves the longest. So I was riding high, feeling good about life & my new surfer buddies as well as my new found rocked out California friends! My Mom & I even had a delightful lengthy chat with this wonderful naturally glowing woman at the L’occitane in the same strip mall. Then we gleefully skipped past a creamy white Bentley along with a gorgeous silver, vintage two-seater convertible to find our way to Banana Republic to see what was on tap within their walls. Before we were within four feet of approaching the threshold I felt my skin starting to burn & bubble like I was doing Shakespeare’s witch’s number from high school. There were eyes locked & loaded on us from that moment until we hastily declined their fabric offerings & left. The issue wasn’t just being eyeballed, sadly, it wouldn’t be the first time I have experienced such treatment at an unnecessarily overpriced establishment. After my Mother & I shrugged off the initial ignorance of the staff we still decided to give the place the once over for conversation’s sake. We went to different racks to take a peek at what trinkets they had & my Mom found a pattern that she found somewhat pleasing to the eye. Being that she has a background in textiles, fashion design, & color theory I always love to take a peek at her finds! So to better show me the blouse she merely angled the top when I came by her side to take a look. As soon as she did that this dyed & fried, emaciated, never-going-to-get-«discovered» excuse for a sales rep. lurked around the other side of the rack behind us & quickly declared, «Oh, that’s an extra small, if you need me to I can help you find your size!» She was absolutely clueless to the fact that she was being completely rude! We were completely thrown off & had no words to say… just complete shock! Who’s to say we weren’t going to buy all of the extra smalls for my little cousin who CAN fit in that particular size?! The funniest part about it was at the time I was solely in charge of six sections of a travel magazine(with about 100,000 circulation nationwide) including the(yep, you guessed it) FASHIONSECTION! Oh was I tickled inside by the irony knowing that I had a Banana Republic Fall Collection booklet that was sent to me ONMYDESK back at the office… just days away from a write up by my own hands. (Insert cartoon evil villain laugh here.) Needless to say, as soon as I returned back to my office I sat down with a lovely cup of coffee, got comfy, caught up on my e-mails, & with all intentions placed the Banana Republic booklet in the cylinder shaped filing bin located just beside my desk on the floor.(That means I threw it away if you weren’t tracking.) Without skipping a beat I simply pulled out the press kit of one of the other hundred fashion companies seeking to get free press for their company & got back to work. F.Y.I. Part of my Mom’s job is to dress staff for several annual events that get film & print coverage every time & she went with Nicole Miller. It only takes one bad seed. Shoulda, coulda, woulda Banana… shoulda, coulda, woulda. ;)~ I repeat for the record, «Hated it!»
