Starting with the best part — the order was made and delivered very quickly! I ordered lamb saag, some garlic naan and tomato soup. Garlic naan was actually good, so was basmati rice(and the portion was a good size), but when it came to lamb and soup… quite a disappointment. The soup could easily have come from a tomato juice bottle rinse — very thin and tasteless. The lamb sauce was also on he thin side and instead of being completely smooth had noticeable cuts of garlic and other pieces in it. While I served and ate half of it, the second half began separating into sauce and a layer of oil or watery substance… strange… Never had that happen to my leftovers before. I’d love to give them the benefit of the doubt, but probably won’t be back to try again.

Giving one star only because there is no option to give no stars. This is the worst Indian restaurant ever. Food is terrible, stale and the cook very arrogant. I have been there a couple of times but only in case of emergencies(since they are right next to where I live) but they have managed to disappoint me every single time. Sleep hungry but do not go there, they are a really disappointment to this industry.

Quick delivery, the food itself is mediocre. The garlic nan really had no garlic to it. Malai kofta was the worst I have ever had. Chicken tiki Marsala was a bit better as was the spinach paneer. We would likely give it another shot in the future as there aren’t many Indian restaurants that deliver to our home.

I love this place. Very no frills style, basically a little take out place, but there are a few tables. The prices are totally reasonable, the portions are large and the lunch special is a great deal. Whenever I have come, they are so nice to me and they even put cartoons on for my son. They are not cheap either, like they won’t freak out out if you take 2 napkins like some places. I’ve had the aloo paneer, channa, samosa chat, chicken tikka masala, and Taste of India Special. All of it is great.

Really bad quality food. Unfortunately this and one more are the only restaurants that delivers to my place so when in dire need I had to order something from them. The only thing I like from their menu is bread and paneer pakoras … everything else especially chicken and goat dishes are horrible… malai Kofta is the worst… isve decided to rather stock haldiram frozen food then order from them… 1 star for bread and paneer pakoras. I’ve no idea how are they even surviving with awful quality food. Indian cooking is an art and they suck at it.

Disappointed! We ordered Lamb Vindaloo it was very watery and didn’t have much flavor. We also ordered garlic nan bread, it tasted very doughy. Overall not a good experience.

Pluses — The take-out atmosphere. I like being able to stop in and order something to eat quickly or get something to go without it being a big production. — Malai Kofta and Rogan Josh. I know there are a few reviews down below about the Malai Kofta being not so great, but that must have been a bad batch. Normally, it’s great. — I have never ordered a bad dish from Taste of India. All of them have been delicious. There is also always plenty of rice. Minuses — Unfortunately, the naan is not great here. I know, you’re thinking, why should I order from a restaurant that doesn’t really do naan well? I admit that it is a disappointment, but the paratha is good. Just order that.

Absolutely Terrible!!! If there was something lower than 1 star, I would give it. The Malai Kofta and Paneer Tikka Masala didn’t look /taste like anything that was meant to be consumed by any living being let alone humans. Yuck!!! I swear it must have been prepared several weeks back. The Samosa chaat was decent, but please don’t get your expectations high just because I mentioned that. I’m just being extremely nice. The naan was bad too.(Surprise!). Overall, I don’t think they really care about any customer. Above all this, it was as expensive as really good Indian restaurants which was really shocking to say the least. Please go elsewhere if you’re looking to have«good» and«clean» Indian food.

Awful… The worst malai kofta I’ve ever had was here. Well, there wasn’t a single piece of kofta actually, just clumps of mashed potato here and there in the sauce(very unappetizing!). The aloo naan was chewy and had only peas but no potato(have never experienced such a bluff anywhere). And to top it all the rice(was dripping oil literally) looked yellow and greasy apart from smelling stale.

Worst Indian Food I have ever had. Naan Bread was doughy & flavorless. No sauces or chutneys came with food. Cauliflower & Potato was over cooked had a odd color to it. Chicken was dry. Tiki sauce was ok. TONSOFMSG!!! If you have allergy like I do DO not order from here. I have the worst migraine. I would not have thought they would use MSG but they do and a lot.

As somebody who grew up eating authentic Punjabi food, Taste of India is a cheap and quick fix. You get what you pay for at this place. The food is served in medium portions, and it gets the job done. This mom and pop Indian food pit-stop isn’t extraordinary, but I would recommend it for those nights you are too tired to cook dinner. There are about 4 tables at the restaurant that can seat 4 – 5 people each. I got the mutter paneer, paneer pakoras, chicken shahi korma, chole chatt, and rice. The gravy on the mutter paneer was watery and lacked paneer(Punjabi-style cottage cheese). My favorite part was definitely the paneer pakora I had with pickled onions and chutney. Everything is made to order and priced to order. I paid just a little over $ 36(after tip) for my meal. There are definitely fancier Indian restaurants out there like Punjab in Arlington if you are looking for an upgrade. Overall, Taste of India is a quick-fix solution if you are craving Indian food. 3 out of 5 stars should do the trick.

I’m staying in Malden at the moment and during one evening, my spouse and I decided to order in. I googled around and was impressed with the look of the Taste of India website, so decided to order online. I will say that I’m from Canada, so I’m not sure if this is a cultural difference or a matter of different«regional» flavors, but I’ve had many different Indian dishes at home, all from various regions and locations, and I’ve never had Indian take-out like this. Because there was only two of us, we ordered two orders of the Chicken Shahi Korma, which was described as «A dish of royalty, boneless chicken cooked with cashew nuts and sauce. Served with basmati saffron rice.» This is a dish that I’ve had at several other restaurants and I’ve always loved it. It’s typically lovely, tender pieces of chicken in creamy, nutty sauce with hint of spice and richness. This is not what we got!!! The korma was brown with a layer of orange grease on top, extremely spicy(and both my boyfriend and I usually have no problems with spice) and watery. The chicken had an odd texture, like perhaps it was frozen and then defrosted and cooked, or God knows what else. We were really, really disappointed. Onto the rest — we got a large order of rice with our meal, which was ample and fine. We also ordered two kinds of bread — the Tava Lachha Paratha(a whole wheat, layered butter bread) and the Tandoori Garlic Naan. The breads were both a huge disappointment. The Paratha was gummy and burnt tasting — I’ve made better Paratha from a package from the store in a frying pan. The garlic naan was flat, bitter, burnt and also extremely chewy. The garlic tasted raw and extremely bitter. The«highlight» of the meal were the vegetable samosoas, which were all right but still cold in the middle. Needless to say, we were still pretty hungry, so we ate them anyway. Because we ordered online, I expected to wait a bit for delivery. The delivery was free, which was nice — but it did take over an hour when we literally live three or four blocks away(we don’t have a car, so we couldn’t go and pick it up). Very disappointing. I understand that this is a new business for Malden, so hopefully they work out some of their kinks. Getting in fresh, flavorful ingredients would be a great start and hopefully they can go from there.

First off this is actually Spice-n-Hot reinvented. It is the same place and owner/chef after some renovations. As for the food. Will this be a mind blowing Indian food experience — no… but it is the best Indian food in Malden and I have to say that I thought it was better than it used to be. The Samosas and Pakora were great, but my malai kofta ball fell apart completely and the korma could have used more flavor. I’m happy for the return of some place to satisfy my Indian urges when I can’t get out of Malden.

Ordered lunch today for my daughter and I. We ordered Chicken Korma, Chicken Biryani, Samosas, Naan and a special that came with a choice of two vegetarian entrees, rice, lacha paratha, soda. I chose Bhindi Masala and Aloo Gobi as my entrees. I will break them down dish by dish. Chicken Korma: This is my favorite dish, when made correctly. This had an ok(although on the bland side) flavor, but the sauce was orange and watery with an oily sheen. Every other Korma I have ever had(chicken or vegetable), had a rich, creamy sauce. I ended up picking the chicken out and leaving the sauce. Very disappointing. Chicken Biryani: Again, a very good flavor, but swimming in some kind of weird, oily sauce. Rice was not separate like a good biryani, but all clumped together. I managed to salvage it by mixing it with the gigantic container of saffron rice that came with the Korma, which soaked up most of the sauce and rendered it more like the biryanis I have enjoyed at other places. Samosas: AWESOME. Obviously freshly made– they had a light, thin outside and a nicely spiced and just lumpy enough inside. Probably the best I’ve ever had. Naan: AWFUL. Rubbery, undercooked, no fluff to it at all– so heavy and dense that I could have hit someone with it and done damage. Worst Naan I have ever had. ~~~Shudder~~~~ Lacha Paratha: See above and add«OILY». Obviously whomever is responsible for bread at this place has no idea what they’re doing. Bhindi Masala: BEST I HAVEEVEREATEN. Fresh, perfectly spiced, not swimming in sauce– PERFECTION. Aloo Gobi: BEST I HAVEEVEREATEN. Soft potatoes, cauliflower had a perfect crunch to it and the seasoning was spot on. A shout out to their saffron rice– It is wonderful. Light and perfectly spices, with every grain separate. So…would I order again? I haven’t decided yet but I’m leaning towards the«probably,» based on the samosas, rice and veg. entrees. If I do, though, I would skip the Korma, Naan and Biryanis– which, unfortunately, are three of the things I like most.

Not sure why people are giving 5 stars to this place. Was there today, had chicken biryani. Not impressed at all. Its not a proper biryani. It was something like fried rice with some chicken. Chicken was not properly marinaded. Rice was not properly cooked. Was not that good but still edible. Restroom was so horrible. It seems like they have not cleaned restrooms ever since they opened a month ago. Good thing about this place is that menu was reasonably priced. Overall, just an average restaurant. Deserves only 3 stars no more than that

I drove by and saw a Grand Opening sign, and I always love trying new places, so I the next night we ordered takeout through Grub Hub. Free delivery for $ 20 or more. Everything was delicious, and way more cost friendly than most other places in the area! We had the vegetable samosa, Palak Paneer, Chicken Shahi Korma, and Tandoori Garlic Naan and Aloo Naan. Basmati rice came with the 2 dishes. Everything was really tasty, fresh, and good portion sizes. We will definitely order from here again! Our new indian go to!
