My son has been attending Pleasant Place for about 5 months and we absolutely love it. Monique and Howard run the center from their home(the daycare is downstairs, their live upstairs). The whole setup is so great, separate rooms so they can split up the kids by age if needed, several fish tanks that the kids love, lots of plants, and a large kitchen in the back where they cook healthy meals(which is included!). They follow the Reggio approach, which I hadn’t heard of prior to enrolling my son, but it has really created a great environment for learning. They do a lot of gardening in school, and when I bring my son over to a friend’s house with a garden, all he wants to do is dig in, get dirty, and pick fruits and vegetables. They are also constantly doing art projects, using crayons, paint, and all sort of random items to make interesting art. In addition to being a great place for my son, Monique and Howard have always been flexible with my schedule as needed. They don’t have the«drop off by 7:30AM at the latest» approach — sometimes I arrive at 8, sometimes 8:15, and they’re always waiting with breakfast ready to go. Some parents need a later pickup time and they are flexible with that as well. I really feel like Monique and Howard treat the children as their own(and one of their children also attends the daycare). They get one-on-one time, lots of attention and generally feel loved. When my son cries because he doesn’t want to leave in the evening… well, I know he’s happy there. Couldn’t recommend them any more!
