The food here is really bad. Bad enough that I took the time to write this review 6 months after actually dining here. I was staying at the Sheraton and needed to grab a quick bite to eat before I headed to bed. I did a quick Unilocal scan for the area and there really weren’t any other options available(because of my late night arrival), so I decided to mentally prepare myself for a below average crappy 3 star meal. I ordered the fish and chips and it was one of the worst dishes I had in all of 2015. The fish was over breaded and soggy on the outside. The fries were also soggy and well below average. This place kinda feels like that crappy bar next to your office that you’re forced to go to for work events once or twice per month. You know how it is.

We waited 20 minutes to place our order and probably waited an hour for the food. And it was not a busy night at all, just a few tables. They forgot our appetizer and then brought it after the meal was served. Other tables around us waited a long time too so it wasn’t just a fluke for us. The food was ok but not worth the wait. Plenty of other choices nearby unless you just want the convenience if you’re staying at the hotel.

I have stayed at the Sheraton many times and have eaten at An Tobar every time. I will NEVER go there again. The level of noise and obnoxious behavior there this evening scared every single bar patron away. I actually feel bad for the bartender Anelia who brought me a bowl of soup and a glass of wine before I was so disturbed that I had to take it to my room. She had not one patron at the bar. All I can say is that there must be a manager or relative of the extremely obnoxious, loud aggressive, inconsiderate group that was allowed to dominate the upper deck of the establishment tonight. Hope the lost revenue was worth it. I will tell everyone I know to avoid this establishment.

Tonight was my 2nd time coming here with my bro and our families. He stays at this hotel when he’s in town. An Tobar is not a bad place. We always have a good time when we come here. The food does take a while to arrive to the table but better than having something that doesn’t taste as good come quicker. Don’t come here for a «quick bite» or if you’re in a rush. Ambiance is very nice — dim lighting and very cool looking bar. My bro said the wood from the bar was from an actual Irish Pub in Ireland that closed down so that’s pretty cool. The lighting was a little too dim for my folks to see the menu but I thought lighting was ok. Food — I had the standard fish n chips with a Guinness. Fish and Chips was pretty good. I thought it was a little better last time I was there but maybe not. The fries were good too — very interesting looking like fan-shape or something. Good stuff. My daughter had spaghetti which I was able to sample and was pretty impressed. So anyways, yea, it’s a pretty good place. Service was good. Food was good. If you can’t see well it may be too dim for you. If you’re in a rush you shouldn’t come here. If you wanna just relax and have a few cold ones with friends and family this is a good place to go. I mean, if Mark Paul likes it who wouldn’t?

I had high hopes as I love Irish fare and it’s right by my house but so disappointing. Why have an Irish pub where the Irish food is an afterthought with only 4 dishes on the menu and the rest standard sports bar food. I went with fish and chips and was still disappointed, fries were a bit mushy along with the fish, it was all most likely frozen prepackaged food. Service was not good either, no hostess to seat people even though it is set up with a hostess station and a million people were all complaining about their checks being wrong. I will not return.

Good for beer and not much more. Decided to give the hotel restaurant a try since I didn’t feel like going out. Decent beer and liquor selection but the food was sub par and the service was ok. I had a salad with chicken. How hard is that? The wilted/rotten lettuce should have been picked out at a minimum. It was decent sized but not remarkable. The music was a mix of rap and metal and did not fit the bar. Lots of potential here but I’ll only use it for drinks.

Service was good. Drinks were a little watered down. Pizza was great fresh ingredients. Had buffalo wrap little salty and no traditional Sheppard pie serving was small.

I come to An Tobar on happy hour because it’s across the street from my office park. Unfortunately proximity is the only perk. Food quality is not good and the beer selection is just OK. Happy hour specials on drafts are not great(most are $ 6/piece), but they do have $ 4 appetizers which I can get behind. The real problem with An Tobar is the service. With the exception of Debbie(who’s great, lively, attentive, and fun), the service is terrible. There are quite a few employees(usually multiple hostesses talking together), but it is difficult to get someone’s attention for a drink. This evening when finishing our drinks, the server provided our checks. I noticed she had overcharged me for a beer, but I just wanted to get home so let it slide. She came back and had swapped our cards for the wrong checks. We got her attention to correct the issue. After 15 – 20 minutes, she came back with the checks and had made the same mistake for a second time. We paid the incorrect checks and headed out. Would rather owe my friend $ 5 than try that again.

An Tobar used to be a really nice Irish Pub. Great food. Good service. Bad location, but it still was packed. Then it closed for a long, long time. Then someone reopened it. They dusted the beautiful interior and put an average at best hotel burger pub in its place. An Tobar is the place where you go for lunch on Saturday, wait by the«wait here to be seated» sign until you give up, walk around the empty restaurant, and finally have someone direct you to a seat. It’s the place where you show the Unilocal check in special and they squint at it, only to charge you $ 7 for the pickle fries accidentally at the end of the meal anyhow. It’s the place where you got a bland, unexceptional burger on a tough bun, with mushy salt fries. It’s the place where the bill comes without a pen to sign it. I’d say this happened to a lot of people when we were there, but there were not a lot of people. We were the only people not seated at the bar at noon. One other group of four did came wandering through the restaurant as we were finishing, loudly asking the air, «SO, DOWEJUSTSITANYWHERETHEN?» I didn’t wait around to ask them how they liked their meals.

Had a great experience at this bar. They have great food and friendly staff. Ask for Bill if you go, he gave great drink and food suggestions. I would return again.

Had some $ 4 happy hour specials. The mini shepherds pies were yummy. The wings are so so good. The mini pretzels with cheese was really fresh and delicious. The chicken fingers with spicy bbq sauce were NASTY! Cute place. Nice experience. Good prices. Good beer.

I was staying at the Sheraton for 3 days for a conference and had no car so I spent some time at the Tobar. The salmon on the Crunchy salad was cooked perfectly, and the $ 11 Reuben sandwich was humongous. All of the servers and bartenders were very nice and attentive. The décor is very nice too.

Isn’t cheese and bacon supposed to be melted on the specialty fries?! It was basically thrown on top of cold potatoes…

Bring money. $ 63 for a few drinks is a whole lot of money. Try Bull and Bush, Connolly’s, Fiddler’s Green, and Raglan Road.

Decent menu and the food is pretty good(for a hotel bar), but service is exceptionally slow and the ambiance is dark(befitting a traditional pub perhaps, but it would be nice to let in more of the Florida sunshine!). The bar has dividers along it between every ~6 seats, which makes it much less social and more difficult for groups.

On my second visit here after having very good samples at the Best Of Orlando party. This time I’m rather unimpressed with my experience. As I’m writing this I’ve been waiting for over 45 minutes for two sandwiches. At 9 pm. On a Tuesday. After having waited 30 minutes at the bar for someone to clear one of the several long-vacated tables. We’ve had to flag our server down to request refreshed drinks during this time period, and then again to remind her which ticket we were on. Now, on the other end of dinner, the food was okay, the drinks were cold, and the environment was standard Irish pub. I understand restaurants have off nights and unexpectedly busy hours, but we felt a bit neglected and under-compensated in the end. We’ll give it another shot, mainly because this is a walkable neighborhood bar in an area starved for walkable neighborhood bars. However, in order for An Tobar to succeed, they’ll really need to up their game just a little bit.

I had visited here in the old days before they shut it down and really liked it. I like the new reopened version as well. A fun place to come and have a drink and maybe a bite to eat. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy.

Meh. Service is very friendly and the theme is fun. Food was mediocre — burger was extremely bland, crab cakes lukewarm but taste was good, teriyaki beef skewer was decent. Only ordered one drink. It was very weak. Went somewhere else to finish the evening. $ 12.38 for a tall crown and coke after tax. Upside? A couple very pretty staff members rockin’ cute kilts :) and you uhhh… well you can stumble to your elevator and a nice room at the Sheraton without going outside.

We were frequent guests here before they closed. Their reopening needs some major tweeking. Give them a pass on being out of 2 of the 4 draft beers we ordered, being new and all. But the food is just not good, they need to first redo the menu. How about some potato soup for instance, it is an Irish bar right? We ordered the fish & chips and had to send it back. They were round, doughy, obviously frozen fish sticks served with frozen french fries… for $ 15 dollars. Replaced them with a turkey rueben… soggy bread stuffed with cheap pre sliced turkey. The pink kind. Service was good though, we had a very sweet waitress. I really do hope they pull it together, revamp the menu and manage to stay open. We’ll give them another try a few months down the road and see.

Now Open Again! Great place with a Irish Ambiance! You can see it from the road! The Fish and Chips tasted fine to me and the server was really sweet and was really themed! More soon! Meet me to there and tell me what you think!
