This gas station hasn’t seemed to change much since fellow Unilocaler Chad went. On the way back from Hickory I really needed some gas. News Flash! This week oil was $ 48 a barrel. Why is the Premium fuel here $ 2.99 a gallon when everywhere else Premium is no more than $ 2.49? My only guess would be price gouging. I guess if you are the only gas station for miles and miles, you can charge whatever you feel like. My solution: I bought two gallons and drove to another station when I got home where the price was $ 2.39 gallon. Avoid this station unless you are stalled on the side of the road.

On our way back from the mountains, we needed gas. Unfortunately, I am not one of those who fills up when the needle hits the halfway mark. Or even the quarter mark. I do not even feel it necessary to pull into a gas station when the needle hits the ‘E’. Sometimes I push it right to the limit — seeing how long the little light will stay on before I have to fill up the tank. I understand that it really does not matter that much, since you have to get gas anyway. And there are people who believe that running on empty will actually get worse gas mileage. But we can save that for another discussion. In this case, it definitely worked against me because by the time we needed gas, there was only one option. And pulling in seemed innocent enough until we started pumping. Where most will tell you on the sign that there is a price for cash and another for credit(even though many no longer do that), this place indicates the difference in tiny little letters on the pump itself. $ 0.10 more for credit. I probably would have had little choice in the matter — but it seems almost deceptive.
