I was here this past weekend and I have to say I was terribly disappointed. They had a shrimp pesto special that was basically all cream sauce. There was no flavor of pesto at all and when I asked the price I was quoted $ 19.95 but was charged $ 21.95. Very misleading. In addition to this the young wait staff continuously asked if we were done. After about the fourth time of saying«NO! We are still eating» I asked our waitress if they were closing? She responded«no» so I asked why we are being rushed? After that we were left alone. My friends chicken francese was served cold. It was a horrible dinner. Over priced and flavorless food!

Portions are enormous, service friendly and efficient and food is pretty good overall(A-OK in my book). Nothing stands out as exceptional, as of yet, but items I have had(rice balls, gnocchi ala vodka, Ravioli parmigana, cannoli cake) have been good. A huge house salad, bread and a pitcher of water arrive at your table the moment you sit down which is nice and a different spin than most Italian restaurants. Décor is a but outdated, but they seem to do a decent business(both times we were there the restaurant was full to nearly full). Prices are a bit higher than you might expect($ 14.95 for an appetizer of 3 rice balls aka arancini) but given the portion size, I suppose some of the prices might be justified.

A restaurant that has been in Mahopac for years. looks like there treading water. we were the only table in the building and the service is completely ridiculous they were not attentive at all and made us feel like we were a hassle having there I’m currently sitting in the parking lot writing this review two minutes after we walk out the door they shut the lights down. obviously our business wasn’t wanted there. we sat right in front of the bar and the waitress the busboy and owner completely neglected us. They think that giving large portions will make up for their lack of flavored food and crappy service. definitely will not be going back there and telling people the same. being in the restaurant business for 12years this has probably been the worst I’ve seen

As soon as you walk in you get the old carpet smell, décor extremely outdated needs a face lift asap. Appetizers were great but main courses were severely bland and service very slow. We were the only table there tonight at first and had to wave the waitress down to order. So much potential if someone out time and care into it

Really generous food portions, he also has very good offers and deals and is pretty quick food and place is clean. Very underrated italian restaurant and is definitley worth trying especially over places that may appear more fancy such as carriage house etc

For all of its faults, including but not limited to, dirty old décor, old glassware, old flatware, local drunks at the bar(not always), the portions are huge, too big almost, and the waitresses are nice. Certainly not a gourmet meal, but it’s ok. Nice simple get together place.

Arturos is an exceptional restaurant! They have great service and awesome food. They have specials every day of the week plus offer happy hour Monday thru Friday. Whether it’s family, friends I have never been disappointed. The portions are great and the price is right. Carmelo the owner is friendly and always eager to please any special request. I highly recommended Arturo’s for a great experience.

Decent italian food. I’ve had better marinara. Portion sizes are enormous. Salad is good.

We went here last year and saw that the reviews about it were fairly decent, as we were new to the area and wanted to try places around us. The food was good, large portions, not too pricey, etc… However, that ENTIRE night we were both up with food poisoning. Will not go back or have them cater for anything.

No way this place has nearly 5 stars let’s just say I never had a good meal here they literally use fake crab meat you get at the A&P yeah that painted red fake stuff and use it in the Zuppa di pesce ! Haha hot antipasto had to ask for a plate to drain the vat of oil in and the local drunken barflies priceless. Seriously people do you ever get out of Mahopac or is this as good as it gets?!

The first time I went the calamari was actually O.K. The next time I went it was an oily mess. The super large portions were more pasta and potato than anything else and the food was just okay. I returned to try it again, the food here definitely lacks flavor and presentation, its draw is giant sized portions and not so good. Service is questionable depending on who you get and as in all places I believe the customer can set the tone by engaging the wait staff(Terrible that one needs to do this to get good service) I’d prefer not to waste more time writing this review as I wasted time going to Arturo’s. All I can say is that if portions are what you look for, this may work for you. If taste, preparation and service is want you desire… stay away.

I went with my boyfriend last night during restaurant week. We made a reservation so we were seated immediately, the owner asking if we preferred to sit by the door or window. Other than a great waitress, This was probably the best part of the night. Our salad came and I told my boyfriend to stop eating after a few bites; I had found plastic in it! The waitress did not charge us for my soda to apologize. For an appetizer, my boyfriend got shrimp wrapped in bacon which also came with fettuccini Alfredo; wasn’t great. I had gotten the mozzarella and eggplant dish; it was soaked in dressing that I could barely taste anything BUT the oil. For entrees, my boyfriend ordered the filet of sole but it was very small. I had the penne ala vodka, which was pretty good. My portions were huge so I had to take it home, but don’t understand why they would advertise such large portions if my boyfriends dinner was so small. Dessert came and went. My boyfriend tried tiramisu, which wasn’t fabulous. I had Tartfo. I doubt I’ll be back here to dine anytime soon.

This was my favorite italian place in Mahopac as a kid. Loved the log cabin feel and I used to love the fact the portions were so huge you could eat it for the next week. The mashed potatoes were always my favorite(even though this def isn’t italian food). Chicken marsala and penne ala vodka were my favorite dishes. Good place for family dinners, seemed to always be the choice of mine when extended family would come.

Impressive! Cute log cabin that has nice live bands. The portions are huge– literally 2lbs of pasta in a giant bowl. Everyone gets salad and bread when they sit down. Great flavor, authentic Italian cuisine. Nice family restaurant– highly recommend!
