I’m a huge breakfast taco fan, and this place takes the cake for best breakfast tacos. Just talking about them makes my mouth water. I’ve tried the sausage, bacon, and potato and all have not disappointed. The green sauce is also incredible! A must try!

Good eatin breakfast tacos. It’s as no-frills as you’re gonna get without it being a taco stand. They’re usually so busy filling orders in the kitchen that if you need to change something you have to holler to get someone to come up front. A plain Jane coffee and one small potato & egg breakfast taco is enough for me because coffee usually tamps my appetite, but I’ll sometimes get two tacos if I’m hungry. Hubster’ll get two or three. It’s good to specify which kind of tortilla(corn or flour) and sauce(red or green), and whether you want pico and/or cheese. Sometimes they don’t ask and you just get whatever. They may forget to charge you for something so you may find that you pay slightly more or less on any given visit, but it’s cheap overall regardless. They’ll also sometimes forget to ring you up, hahaha, so if they hand off your order and you haven’t paid yet you have to tell them to ring you up. My guess is that most people are good and don’t take advantage. It’s worth rolling with the quirks for a micro business that succeeds in delivering great food on the cheap If you need to go somewhere with more structure, try Cinco de Mayo a half mile east on 1488. But truly, Tacos Alex is a great place for simple and quick, good tasting comfort tacos(if there is such a thing). Because they’re a small mom & pop(and kid) operation, I try to pay in cash so they don’t have to deal with the merchant fees for visa or mastercard, and I’ll also tuck a little something in the tip jar. Whenever we have guests staying with us I love to slip out in the morning and come back with a bag full of these breakfast tacos. Out of state guests usually don’t even know what they are and are prone to instant addiction. Other guests like my parents love starting the day with comfort food. They’ve been here for a few years now, so lucky for Magnolia, looks like they’ll stick around.

I’ve been here twice and the flavor was good but I couldn’t get over all the egg shells in my tacos(both times). I ordered the same thing both times and the price fluctuated by $ 3 in 2 weeks… I probably won’t be back any time soon.

Actually, they have the best breakfast tacos anywhere. Mati, the owner, makes her own tortillas and salsa. The green sauce is phenomenal!

I’m house sitting out here, and had a really hard time finding good breakfast tacos(I went towards Hockley, instead of Magnolia at first.) Couldn’t find anything online for breakfast, tacos, whatever. Ended up seeing a weird sign for Tacos Alex’s driving through Magnolia, thought it seemed promising. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been more pleasantly surprised. Just great, great breakfast tacos. Fresh tortillas and fillings, great flavors, delightfully messy. Everything is made while you wait. I got to barbacoa, chorizon and bacon. All of them were fantastic. I don’t know if it is because I was really hungry, lost in a breakfast taco desert or just really excited to find a new place — but these were some of the best breakfast tacos I’ve ever had. Just could not recommend highly enough. To me, right up there with Tierra Caliente.
