The owner may be an a**hole BUT this is the nicest motel I have seen in a while. They only ask for respect of their property. The suites are very large and have that home feeling. The A/C is top of the line, the water was soldering hot, the bathroom was full sized as well. Very well taken care of!

Worse experience ever. The front desk man was rude and inconsiderate. He actually yelled at me and called me names. He wouldn’t allow me to check out because my two young sons were sitting in the room waiting for me. He literally sent the poor cleaning lady to check and ensure the room was clean before completing my check out. Treated like trashy criminals. We were there for a total of four hours and he charged me $ 81 plus tax despite the fact that when I checked in I told him we’d be only a few hours. He told me upon check out he’d negotiate a rate. Shame on me for trusting a man who clearly has no respect for women. He is a monster. Beware!!!

Rooms were outdated but decent. We enjoyed being able to take the shuttle to the renaissance festival. Only downside is that I left a watch in the hotel room and I am having issues trying to get it back. Updating this to charge my 4 stars to a 1 star: The maids stole my fitbit. I called and very politely told him exactly where I left it and before anyone even checked the room, he started making up excuses as to how I could have lost it elsewhere and how his maids have been working there for 5 years. I wasn’t accusing them of anything at that point, I simply wanted my fitbit to be mailed to me. Sounds like me knows there is a problem and doesn’t care. Also you have to pay for your room in full 2 weeks in advance of your reservation. And no matter what they will charge the same card you made the reservation with, even if you call in advance to give them a card that will work. Oh and if you want the shuttle to pick you up after the fireworks you have to pay the driver, he doesn’t pick up for free after 7PM, even though the owner of the hotel will tell you that he picks up until 1AM, you will be stranded if you don’t offer him a «tip» to come get you later.

This place is a nightmare. I booked 3 rooms for 5 nights for wedding events, and 5 other rooms were booked by our guests. While the rooms are clean(although housekeeping my only made the beds, they NEVER Took out the trash), the bedding and about every appliance are about as cheap as they come. The Tv’s looks new, but have terrible picture quality and sound. The wifi signal is beyond weak and doesn’t work in the suites(their most expensive rooms). The owner offered no solutions to any manageable problem. When my wife and I returned from the wedding around 11:30p to go to our suite before leaving in the AM for Hobby, our cards didn’t work! Imagine that happening on your wedding night… the lobby was closed and the phone went straight to voicemail, after 10 mins of slamming on his door, the owner emerged and fixed my cards, but with no apology. My relatives still staying there just informed me that the water has been barely running and is brown and has been for a few hours, just another wonderful issue with this terrible motel. Overall, if you’re looking for a shoddy motel with an owner who has no sense of customer service nor an interest in providing a quality experience, then this place is for you. It would be one thing if this was a fleabag interstate motel for $ 50 a night, then I wouldn’t mind the terrible room quality and lack of service or knowledge of the hospitality industry by its staff. However at over $ 100 per night I expected a lot more, and was greatly underwhelmed.

After booking a room more than a week ago, I got a call today when I was about an hour away from the hotel confirming that I was still showing up. I said I was roughly an hour away and would be there shortly, apparently my card was declined and was asked to update my credit card. I told him(the manager at 4 pm) that I was not comfortable giving him my credit card information over the phone but if he could wait just a little while I would be there soon where he could rerun my credit card. He had a very thick accent and kept repeating that there was a 24 hour cancellation policy, to which I responded I don’t want to cancel the room I will be there soon and he could charge my card. He said he was running a business not a charity and he would cancel the room and we could rebook when I get there. I said that would be fine if he could guarantee that I would have a room and he said that want possible. I told him that I must have entered my card number incorrectly online when I booked the room and would be there soon, I was uncomfortable giving my credit card information over the phone, but if he could just hold the room for a little bit longer we could figure it out. He said he understood I was uncomfortable and that he was now uncomfortable with me staying there. So I booked a room at the best western just 4 minutes down the road for $ 10 less a night and much nicer people. I understand he is trying to run a business. However, he could have been a hell of a lot nicer about the situation. If this is how he treats people I am glad we ended up not staying there.

We have visited Magnolia for the Renissance Festival for the past 4 years and have stayed at all the hotels. Executive Suites is the best. After a long drive we were greeted w free water and crackers. Clean room, newly painted and seating area. This will be our go-to for years to come!

We stayed here for what else — ren faire. Knew it would be expensive being so close, but was happy to learn about the free shuttle! The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. I’m so afraid when I hear«remodeled» but they did a good job. The owner /manager was friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

A 4 star review for a small town little motel. The owners are VERY nice and attentive to their guests. Rooms obviously newly remodeled and very clean(YEA!!!). Excellent prices. Plus, it was nice to have 2 King beds in the room rather than the typical queens or doubles. We stayed here to go to the Magnolia Music Festival(what a hoot — lots of fun, good people-watching and some great music!). I’m always a bit nervous about staying at small town motels… I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay here again when in the area.
