Like most people out there, I dread dealing with cell phone customer service. Press one for English. Out menu has changed, please listen to the entire message. Press 1 for billing… And so on for half an hour Before you get to listen to beautiful hold musac buzzing in your ear for another half an hour. My phone stopped charging the other day and I opted instead to stop at the Sprint store on the way home. As it was already 7:30 pm, the place was just about empty, but they were still well staffed, Within 5 minutes, I was seen by a very nice customer service rep who took my phone to the tech, then came back and let me know just how many people were in front of me and just how long it would be before he got to me. The tech was also exceedingly professional and nice. He let me know that the damage to my phone could not be repaired but that they would get me a new one. He also said that, unfortunately it would be Monday before he could help, but offered to help me out. He would keep one of my phone’s batteries on the charger and each time I came by, he would swap it out with me — a pain, but better by far than nothing and amazing customer service. Say what you want about Sprint, this store exemplifies what service should be about and made a loyal customer more loyal.
