Selective Video

There is nothing special about Selective Video. It appears as if they have a good selection when you first walk in but their selection is really lacking (it’s selective). They mainly have the same items placed in different spots to make it look like they have more than they do.
There is a weird smell through out the store that I haven’t noticed in any others that I have been to and the employee was acting like we were interrupting her night.

My favorite place to go to in madison so far. It has the largest stock of most basic things. It’s convenient and the staff is all really sweet.
When you walk in they card you, which I appreciate, and greet you. Some people might not like this because it may be embarrassing to enter a store like this, but over time the consistent attitude of the staff has made me feel confident in any store like this!
They’re all young, non judgemental, and have a good sense of humor. If you want to know how loud a vibrator is, you can ask to see and they’ll take it out of the box, put batteries in, and turn it on. All while being candid and sweet.
They do not, however, follow you around and make you feel self conscious during the selection process. They stay at the counter helping if you ask. :)
This store has one fourth dedicated to lingere, one fourth to sex toys and bondage, one fourth to videos, and one fourth to tabacco products. Their selection of toys ranges from cheap I-​NEED-​A-​WORKING-​VIBE-​NOW kinds of stuff to more expensive well made rechargeable ones. They of course have men’s products too. They have some crass party junk, of course, but where else would you buy it?
Love their riding crops and paddles. Good sting, well balanced.
They also have sales for each day of the week!

I’m 31 years old. I went in to this location with my Arizona driver’s license which doesn’t expire, and doesn’t have an expiration date. I was thrown out because my identification wasn’t «valid».
Poorly trained staff doesn’t generate business. I won’t be back.

This place isn’t bad. I really loved it before I discovered Amazon had such a nice selection. Selective definitely marks up their products, but so does every shop like this. The staff is usually fantastic. There’s a guy there who really knows his hookah stuff. The place isn’t sketchy. It’s has good lighting and doesn’t feel creepy. The selection is pretty good, but I wish they had more BDSM stuff that wasn’t the crappy cheap kind.
