Purity Spring Resort

We spent a week here a while back and thoroughly enjoyed it. First, it’s just a beautiful place, and very family friendly. The lake was nice and cool, the boating and fishing was fun, the indoor pool was well maintained, and the activities including softball and archery with other guests was a lot of fun. The staff was very friendly throughout the week. The room in a ski lodge at the base of the mountain was clean, and it was neat to stay in a ski hotel during the summer.
The only thing holding me back from five stars was the food in the restaurant, which was a big miss most of the nights. A decent kitchen would make this resort, as food is such an important part of the vacation.
While I’m on the subject of food, I would be remiss not to mention that the lobster cook out was a lot of fun. I recommend Purity Springs.

We found the resort clean comfortable and convenient. The staff was friendly. Beautiful views. Large room. Fabulous food. Good prices. The pool and hot tub were clean and large. Great value for a family!

We used to come here in the Summer when our kids were small. We stayed 2 nights hoping for foliage and warm weather, but little color and cool nights. We did take a canoe out for a short ride and had dinner in the dining room. Dinner was fine, not gourmet, but well prepared and plenty. Breakfasts were included. We ordered off the menu one day and it was served buffet the next. Greek scrambled eggs were delicious. Coffee could have been better. This is a special place in the white mountain area.

BEWARE: YOU ARE CHARGED JUST FOR MAKING A RESERVATION! I called and made a reservation with Beverly, she took a deposit, and I asked specifically about the cancellation policy. Unfortunately, my work scheduled changed and I canceled the reservation two days later. MY DEPOSIT WAS RETURNED TO ME LESS $ 20! Beverly charged me $ 20 «handling fee» for holding the reservation for two days! When did I find out this policy? At the time when I made the reservation with Beverly if she had told me about the fee, I would NOT have made the reservation. I ONLY FOUND OUT AFTER I was e-​mailed the confirmation — in the fine print, of course — when I could do nothing about it. Can’t Purity Spring build the cost of making reservations into their business model (like the professionals do) rather than charging a reputation-​killing «handling fee?» I’ve traveled a lot in my career and otherwise and have never been charged a fee to make a hotel reservation. Hmm… How do all the other hotels/resorts/B&Bs/motels, etc., seem to manage without such a ridiculous charge? Ultimately after demanding the fee back, Purity returned to me.

This resort is on a large beautiful lake with different beaches to swim in. There are planned activities on sight and even day trips to different destinations. They have an on site restaurant and you can purchase a meal plan package with your vacation. Free waterskiing, kneeboarding, use of kayaks, and canoes. They also have an indoor pool, hot tub, b-​ball, tennis, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and playgrounds.
North Conway center is only 12 miles away for more dining options and outlet shopping.

We stayed here for a friend’s wedding and it was a blast! From our home-​y, clean condo on the mountain to delicious pancakes (and the catered reception), to friendly service (and people we got to know out of seeing them at every event), to the GORGEOUS weather and the White Mountains, to canoeing and kayaking at the lake and climbing the «iceberg», Purity Springs provided the perfect weekend getaway and a breathtaking spot to watch our friends say «I do».
You’ll find me dreaming about skiing King Pine until the snow starts to fall. Then I’m totally there.
