My boyfriend and I ordered a reclining sofa from A-1 furniture the week before Christmas. We hadn’t shopped around any place else but we loved a couch they had at A-1 so we decided to just go for it and order it that day… BIGMISTAKE. We had to order it in a different color so it then became a custom order. We were told it would be 6 – 8 weeks until we received the couch. Today marked 9 weeks since we ordered the couch we have never received a phone call or anything regarding the couch. It was already paid off in full almost a month ago so last week we finally called them to see if maybe they had forgotten about us. We were told it might be on the delivery truck today so again we called today, even after we were told someone would call us but of course that did not happen. Now we were told we won’t have it until the week after March 3rd. That is 4 weeks after the time we were told! With no call or attempt to reach us about this HUGE delay. In fact she didn’t even sound sure we would have it by then. She said«you should get it then». All that was said was oh sorry it was beyond our control. What wasn’t beyond your control is the terrible, uncaring customer service we have recieved. We were planning to have this new couch by the time my family from states away comes to visit but no that will not be happening apparently. It is too late for us to go back in time and never order from them in the first place, but it’s not too late for you. So if you are even thinking or spending any money at A-1 just save yourself the headache and time and go somewhere else.

Just moved here from California and needed some fruniture so we called and then went in ready to spend 2000.00 set aside for this. The guy said hello and that’s about it from that point on he just followed us around from a distance just looking at us around corners if we were to buy somthing he could just jump in and be like ok I will ring you out ??? I asked for a bundle he just pointed didn’t show me anything just said it’s over there and again we would walk over there and he would be around the corner. I’m in sales myself sir and that isn’t how it’s done. I had been looking on there website for months now watching all the diffrent deals they had. just to end up going into there store to be treated like I wasn’t good enough for them. I ended up buying all my stuff from a diffrent store don’t shop here bad vibes …

Reasonably priced furniture in a no frills warehouse. I wasn’t here shopping for myself but rather to offer shopping support to a friend who was furnishing her place. I thought overall she received decent service and found the perfect couch that suited her purposes. She purchased the couch on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to deliver on Monday which I thought was great turn around. If I lived in Madison, I would return.

So I am in the process of searching for a sectional couch. I am attempting to keep an open mind and as such have been checking every possible place. I know what I want. I want a grey sectional. I understand grey is not as readily available as brown, but I am prepared to search long and hard for an investment piece. I started out at the location in Fitchburg. Penny was so helpful and she found the piece which was the Stoughton Road location. If you go to A1, ask for Penny. Now after going to the Stoughton Road location, I saw the couch, I hated it. The salesman, and he is lucky I do not remember his name I told him exactly what I was looking for and he referred me to the computer to check out their stock. What? I am not expecting him to memorize everything but refer me to a computer? I did that at home. You are in person, show me some options. Unacceptable. So you get two stars, you would have gotten one, but Penny saved you from that fate. Yup.
