Yes, I’m basically writing a review about a dump. That’s how cool this place is! We were fixing up/cleaning up our house to sell, and so had piles of shingles to throw away and so I looked Alpco up online(I’d driven by many times, but didn’t know all the stuff they did.) Most places, we’d have to rent a dumpster for way too much money for the small amount we were dumping. The Alpco website was really useful for a local business and seeing the video helped me not feel too much like a newbie when I arrived. One note(that I messed up), if you are coming from the east like I did, the first entrance that looks very industrial-y is the scrap drop off, not the ‘residential’ garbage/recycle part. Look for the entrance with grass and the little brown shed you do your drive-by check in at. Knowing they took scrap, I threw some old copper wires and other metal things in the van to drop off with all my junk, and I thought, literally I’d get a dollar or two for it, but it was better than throwing it in the trash. End of story is that things went smoothly, people were very friendly(they must train them to be nice, since it was sooo consistent). Even when we had a few cars waiting to drop off and no one seemed to be around, an employee that mustn’t have been the one on duty at that station popped up, was nice and took over to keep us all moving. The cheapskate in me also loved that they take decent quality stuff people pitch and resell it for cheap. I saw a kids bike, file cabinets, some lawn chairs. Cool. AND on the way out the pay lady told me I had dumped a lot(shingles are crazy-heavy– 530 pounds!) and knocked a nice bit off my bill… plus on dropping my scrap metal off(that’s next door in the industrial looking area in the blue building), I almost totally broke even on the deal. I got about $ 33 for the scrap I almost pitched in my weekly garbage. I was very psyched about that. So my whole house project that started with me expecting to pay someone $ 100 – 200 for a dumpster for our shingle/roofing junk ended up costing us a whopping $ 3. Too bad we’re moving south, or I’d try to get rich here ;-)

Great service, good pricing. I renovated my house last year and made a few runs to Alpco with a U-Haul with old stuff, carpeting and cabinets from the renovation. They were very friendly and helpful and the price was reasonable.

Very helpful and easy to work with… We held a bottle and can drive at my kids school and I would bling endless car loads here to be recycled. They made the process quick and painless… it was great!
