Seemed pricey but it is well worth it. The salad bar was sparse but good and the potato salad and cole slaw are to die for. Everyone like their various burgers and my daughter loved her beans, so they have their namesake staples covered. Fries and sweet potato fries are good. The service was friendly and excellent with that small town feel. The free ice cream at the end to top it off makes this a 5 star experience.

Always great! Would to see it smoke free otherwise good food and great people. Our favorite local go to spot. Closes too early. Would be a perfect after school event stop but closed up tight by that time.

We found the name and asked my mother-in-law about the place and she verified it was decent as we are from out of state and she lives nearby. I’m not sure why this place is named what it is as the beans were not that great. The hand breaded chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and decent service is where it’s at. They had a small salad bar and Blue Bell Ice Cream(self serve) for those who dine in but we didn’t make it that far as the amount of food they give you is HUGE. We will definitely return when we come back to Texas to visit even though the name should really be changed to something else besides something with beans in it!

My burger was good but fries were super greasy and undercooked. Salad bar was good but I wish they had croutons for the salad. I also thought it was way over priced. Also the lady who sat us was quite unfriendly and rude but thankfully the waitress we had was friendly. One last note my boyfriend asked for just butter in his baked potato and they put what looked like half a stick of butter on it. Way to much. Instant diabetes. I might try again.

If your a local, you don’t even need to read my review, you know the place. Great friendly staff, good burgers and chicken fried steak. Pretty much everything here is country cooking. If you found this while your visiting the lake(which hopefully have water some day) stop by and have some beans and a burger.

We love this place! Whether we are there as a whole or it’s just me and my husband, it’s a great for good home cooking and great burgers. The kids always eat their food, which is always a battle. The waitstaff is great. They remember you and treat you withgood ol southern kindness. I would have given 5 stars, but you have to ask specifically for real mayo(they use miracle whip), and it’s dependent upon the cook as to whether you can get your meat rare.

Great homestyle country food. Complimentary cornbread, salad bar, stew, and soup which are all good. Had chicken fried steak. Loved it.

Used to be good back when they first opened about 10 years ago. We loved their original location in Athens, and we were so excited when they opened this one in Mabank. Since then it has become more and more disgusting. I think in their quest to keep prices low, they have sacrificed all quality. This used to be THE place to get a large, fresh, greasy burger. Now, it’s like fast food quality at about half the size. Think high school cafeteria. Next the fries… Even a bigger disappointment. They used to have the most awesome fresh cut fries… Now, frozen reconstituted potato product. The only thing that hasn’t changed are the beans, but those are hard to screw up. I hope someone sees this and gets the hint. Raise prices a couple dollars and make better food. Lose the salad bar and go back to making your specialty.

Stopped by for Sunday lunch, it was crowded which we thought was a good sign. Apparently a salad bar will attract folks. Food was less than mediocre. We had burgers and ribeye. Both were overbooked. I normally love French fries but these were terrible.
