A fun coffee stop with great area art. Kids can run amuck out front in a play area while you take in the Colorado Sun. Music various weekends is always great. Simple breakfast and lunch items. Baked goods are to die for: monster cookies or pumpkin bread HELLO! This place is super supportive of Lyons. Bring them your business over coffee chains any day of the year!

Such a cute place! We stopped for some coffee on our way home from RMNP. I loved the décor, playground out front, the vintage Beatles poster, and the 60s music playing. Owner(?) who made our drinks was super nice. Coffee and banana bread were great. Can’t wait to bring my parents here when they visit. I love this little town.

Oh how I wish that I could just live in Lyons all the time so that I could hang out at the Stone Cup, drinking coffee, people watching, and eating gluten free banana bread. If you are visiting Lyons, or driving up to Estes, stop here, it’s a must. Everyone is so friendly, and whatever they are putting in the iced toddies is addicting, but I’m really okay with it. Fun to laugh at all the road bikers in their spandex.

We’d driven up from Denver on the recommendation of a friend for lunch but the restaurant wasn’t open yet and we needed coffee. My niece’s mother-in-law recommended the Stone Cup. It was an experience we really enjoyed. Walking in past a dozen kids having a grand time in the playground. The coffee was good and we managed to beat about 20 bike riders who came in all at once. Loved the sign outside that said«Unattended cars will receive a free paint job from the Lyons Elementary School second grade»

While traveling cross country my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant for breakfast! The food was absolutely amazing, the coffee was really good, and the people were incredibly nice! The place is dog friendly outside which is always a plus! The location and décor are one of my favorites I’ve come across so far. A must if you’re traveling around Lyons or Estes Park. Also, the menu online I found was larger than the one actually at the restaurant, they went back to their roots which is never a bad thing!

I love this place, line can be long during festival but they handle the volume efficiently.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere(love the patio too) and good coffee. A lady was having a breakfast taco, looked so good, I wish I had skipped breakfast at home! Next time I’ll go hungry!

Don’t know how I haven’t left a review for this place previously! The Stone Cup is my absolute favorite café around — the Bhatki chai is my go-to drink, but the smoothies are delicious, too. They also have great baked goods, never had one I didn’t like. And I love the atmosphere, has a very laid back, small town feel. Something to note: Though The Stone Cup is in the same building as The Rise and Shine Bistro(where you get the sandwiches and scrambles and such) they are technically separate and have different owners. The bistro is good, too, not my favorite place in the area, but convenient if you’re grabbing a drink. If you’re interested, I’d give their food/service 3-stars, atmosphere(obviously, since it’s in the same building) 5-stars.

We ate here on Saturday, Jan. 17, the cappucino was good but I ordered a meat lovers scramble and it wasn’t too bad but the potatoes served with it were way over cooked, my daughter’s veggie sandwich had huge rings of purple onion on, I would have hated that, I think the sandwich looked like it was mostly onion and lettuce, I don’t think I would eat here again.

Solid lunch choice in Lyons with many gluten free and veggie options. Tasty oatmeal raisin cookie and LOVED the blueberry hibiscus iced tea. Very friendly and helpful staff at coffee bar and in the restaurant counter side.

Mocha’s great. Friendly staff, funky, artsy. Plenty of room on patio. Environmentally conscious, emphasizes recycling, composting.

Great coffee drinks and friendly service. More importantly, they have a shady play area with ample seating — perfect for those of us with kiddos! My daugher is still too young for the playground, but she loves watching the other kids play and I love getting out of the house for a well made latte!

Stopped here on the way home from camping. It’s a decent café with simple selections, coffee and cocktails. The brunch itself was decent, expected for café fare. My biggest complaint was that the Bloody Marys we ordered came out FLAMING hot. I prefer my Bloody Marys spicy but this was out of control. The waitress remarked that she ‘got the measurements wrong’ and proceeded to bring out a glass of tomato juice to ‘remix’ our drinks on our own. Most restaurants will, after admitting their mistake, remake a drink or food item at no charge. I thought this was unprofessional and, not to mention, weird. The live music on the porch was a great touch, and the only reason I added a third star.

Coffee was decent, took me 10 minutes to get a bagel with cream cheese(didn’t realize the order went through the kitchen and not made by the barista), good, friendly service, warm, inviting atmosphere.

I came down from estes park to spend a morning here and I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere is great, people were friendly and the food and coffee was awesome as well. I can tell it’s a local hang out and that gives it a homey feel. I tried the Greek scramble and it was great!

Cyclists love this place. Plenty of parking, a block off downtown. Ive been bouncing back and forth between here and the other place during my week of dog sitting. They also serve a few alcoholic beverages(yum). Two free wifi networks. Big patio seating. Quasi-friendly staff(nothing to write home about). Kind Coffee served.

Staff was friendly, place was decent and mostly clean, and they were open way early for a return trip back down from the mountains. Coffee was not bad, pricing was good, but the food left something to be desired. Ordered a simple breakfast: eggs, toast, hashbrowns, and bacon. The entire plate tasted as if it was coated in salt. I never add salt to any of my food post-cooking, so I know it was not me over-salting. But after I left, I had to drink literally two big bottles of water back down to Denver to try and quench my thirst. It sucked because the staff was SO friendly, the place looks so quaint, and the locals who all seemed to be regulars and know each other by name were friendly as well. I felt right at home, but just didn’t enjoy my meal.

The Stone Cup is pretty much the embodiment of what I expected of a Colorado coffee joint. On a sunny Sunday morning, the day of the Folks festival, the line was out the door, but so was the charm. There was live music. There were children playing on the play ground. There were friendly faces and hordes of cyclists. They were even handing out samples of the banana bread for those waiting in line! The menu might not seem like much(bagels, quiche, burritos, breggos(breakfast calzones), and baked goods), but there seems to be something to please everyone. Still being full from too much barbecue the night before, I opted for the granola with yogurt. I was thrilled that the yogurt was plain, since so many places give you vanilla, which is just too much sweetness for me in the morning. My dining companions all got breggos, which came highly recommended from our local friends. I had a taste of the Santa Fe, which was good, but nothing to write home about. The thing that impressed me the most about the breggos was that the contents were marked on the outside with the dough(SF for Santa Fe, — for Veggie, X for Sausage, or something like that). The staff was friendly and relaxed, but they kept the line moving. Practically everything they give you is compostable, and what’s not is recyclable. Plus they make it easy for the lazy folks by having a bus bin if you’re not confident enough to sort your waste in the right bin yourself. I really liked the attitude — the art on the walls, the open air, the plants, and of course the sayings: «Unattended children will be given espresso and a free kitten» and«Unattended vehicles will be given a free paint job by the Lyons Elementary First Grade.»

I had stumbled upon The Stone Cup this Saturday when some friends and I decided to grab a bite before heading to my brother’s wedding. Although none of us were from Colorado, we all decided that this tiny café was what we wanted that morning! The place is very cozy, artsy, and had so much attitude — my kinda place! There were a lot of people whom you can tell were local regulars. This place was exactly what I thought Colorado would be like. I had ordered a Strawberry Italian Soda with a Strawberry Shortbread. Although I was freezing and just ooze desert-dweller from my pores [I was the only one wearing a heavy wool jacket XD], I wanted something cold and fruity. And boy was I satisfied! The soda was delicious with just enough syrup and the shortbread was soft yet crispy and packed full of flavor! My friends had all ordered miscellaneous breakfast sandwiches and they looked yummy as well. But if you want something more pastry-like, go for the shortbread!
