I bought my first boiling pot here thanks to korean noodle gifts from Xmas. Yum! I could’ve sworn this was an old H-Mart — or some other former Korean market. Anywho, it has a wonderful selection of rather usual sightings found in Asian markets: korean noodles, mostly-imported kitchenware, rice cake aka mochi bundles of yumminess(glanced at a few multi-colored ones), frozen meat to a deli that I’ll have to try… eventually… et al. It was a mellow-jello afternoon and I’d planned minimal perusing. Once I’d found this pretty inexpensive and decent SS Boiling Pot with an enthusiastic picture of a kid chowing on noodles printed on the box, I went to pay, asked the sweet old Korean lady where the restroom was and went on my way. #kamsahamnida

This is an awesome little Asian Market tucked away near the Wal-Mart and thropping mall(St. Vincent and Value Village on 99). I love going to Asian Markets because they have an amazing selection of fish, produce, and my favorite snacks. I think of it as a food adventure every time I come here. The people are very friendly, the food court is amazing, and the selection is out of this world. Oh yeah, and the place is very very clean. I suggest taking a trip down the snack aisle — there are so many unique Asian chips and crackers. You can find some of your favorite American names with a twist(Korean BBQ Cheeto’s — ummm, yes, please!), and some completely unique treats, as well. In addition, they have an awesome section of the store that has little gadgets and appliances. They have an excellent selection of rice cookers, hot water pots, and assorted other little appliances. I love the selection, the prices and the staff at this store — I suggest making a trip here for a unique experience and an adventure in shopping.

Can I tell you a secret? I’m uncool anyway so there’s no real saving face here… Sometimes I come here on my own to get away from people. The cafeteria is so small and kind of ghetto but it feels homey to me. And it makes me happy to sit there — for as long as i want — and TOTALLY zone out while eating decent Korean food. I like the soondubu place. Their banchan is inconsistent but on good days — it’s good. And the service is always so sweet and prompt. I usually order the seafood soondubu — comes with a load of other stuff! Some fish, banchan of course, big serving of rice, and hot tea. It’s like 2 meals in 1… which I suppose is like most Korean eateries: P As a bonus, I can shop in total peace. Pick up random snacks or stupid little kitchen gadgets. Occasionally, they will have something I have never seen before — like organic brown sugar cubes that are individually wrapped. WUT. When would I ever need this? But it’s so cute! I’ll buy it. Done. The produce is cheap. Not top quality(duh, look where you’re at…) but I’m happy to support this Mart! After eating then some light shopping, back to reality! Oh, the parking here is kinda awesome. Plenty of space always… unlike some other Asian marts where the parking lot is just horrific. Why is that??? Haha ;P

Small place. Looked clean but got some dirty looks when I walked in but what asian market doesn’t do that to customers right? I would if I had time rather go up North to a differently named Mart and spend my money there. But for a pinch I would drop by here and shop for something quick.

I already posted this review on the g mart page but it seems that since it’s new, it doesn’t show up easily when googled so I thought I’ll post it here to warn people. It used to be KS mart. I honestly lost all trust and respect for this store. G mart is somewhat closer to my house than H mart so I occasionally come here for my asian food needs. A few days ago, my mom bought this seafood item here. We put it in the freezer right away. Yesterday, when we were trying to make something with it, I saw that it was packaged on March 6 and expired April 7th! It’s almost a MONTH past the expiration date. We didn’t have the receipt cuz it’s just groceries but we paid with a card, so we went in and asked for a refund. The lady said no because there’s no receipt. I said we paid with a card. Is there no way to bring up that record? She said no why would we ever need to reprint anything from the past? She said I can’t do that for you. I asked to see the manager or whatever and she calls someone. This old guy comes and tells the lady just do the refund. But now there’s a line at the lane i was at(and when I was there, there was no one). The guy tells me I have to wait till she’s done with everyone. Well okay then. But she just says I’ll just do it now. And she refunds it to the card. The item was 10.19. I was refunded 10.19. I asked isn’t there tax on it? And he says no. Well I’m just too tired to even explain to these people anymore so I said okay and just left. Now, I understand she’s just a cashier and she has no authority to just do refunds without a receipt. I get that. But why tell me no straight away without even asking when clearly, they’re the ones selling expired seafood. Oh and ALSO, while she was doing the refund, she was muttering«who the hell even buys without looking these days? So stupid.» And this was some time ago but would like to put it on here for anyone to keep in mind in case they ever decide to shop here. I was really craving salmon so I bought some sliced salmon from here. The sticker said it was packaged on some date and expires on some date. It wasn’t past the expiration date. BUT that sticker was placed above about 2 other stickers that had different dates of the past. I really gave them the benefit of doubt and thought seriously, it just can NOT be that they are reselling expired SALMON. After today, I’m almost a hundred percent sure they are.
