Ivar’s Seafood Restaurant

I usually don’t review fast food restaurants but recently I have had a craving for fish n chips so I have been frequently visiting this location. I can honestly say that every employee in that restaurant is welcoming, has a great attitude and honestly they don’t make it feel like a fast food restaurant. The food was always fresh and tasted good. The staff at this location will keep me coming back.

Worst fish and chip experience ever! The lady messed up our to go order, and when I called to order she was very rude and kept cutting me off on the phone. Not impressed and I will never go back. Oh, the food sucked too. Spuds is way better! I’d pay extra for the good food and the service.

Came into Ivars for our fish ń chips fix and man did they deliver! We decided to eat inside rather than take away. what a difference! The fish was so crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside. The chips were super fresh and delicious when drenched in vinegar :) I would highly recommend eating in rather than take out, it really makes a difference in how crispy the breading is. Customer service is definitely on point!
At this Ivars location you place your order and if dining in they bring the food to your table. They offer different types of vinegar such as the traditional malt vinegar but also a flavorful garlic vinegar. They also offer a fountain drink machine with a huge variety of different sodas. The clam chowder at this location is super and prices overall are not bad at all. I hope one day they make fish sandwiches, that would be icing on the cake :)

The chowder is always good but all the fried fish tastes the same. Way over priced. I’d recommend getting the Chowder bread bowl and not wasting any more money on their fried fish or clams.

Today was my first time in an Ivars and this is my first negative review on Unilocal.I went with my partners family after a very hard doctors visit.
The young man at the register gave us the worst service experience of my life. He was tall with dark hair and wore a top bun. My partners older father tried using a coupon. The server was condensing and unhelpful. I didn’t know what to order so when I asked what fish to ordered with he fish-​n-​chips, he just stared at me without responding.
I know the company is amazing and that’s why I wanted to go so badly.
I think there is an expected level of respect that customers and servers should have for each other.

The woman who helped us was amazing I didn’t catch her name but she had very short hair and bright blue eyes. She went above and beyond. Thank you for making my day better. Great food. I’d definitely go back.

Staff’s friendly and the fish was good, if not a bit oily. Loved the chowder. They’ve also got one of those neat touch screen coke machines that lets you build your own drink. It was late so we got our order to go, and they even gave us extra crackers in the to-​go bags. They also let us swap out the slaw for more fries. It’s not as fancy as the Ivar’s on the waterfront, but the food’s still good and everyone was nice.

If you’ve been to Ivar’s at Mukilteo beach, you do not wanna go this one… The taste and the size of the fishes are totally different. The fishes and chips in this branch tastes old and oily that does not make you feel good in your stomach. It’s relatively smaller than the one in mukilteo beach. Don’t shorten your life span eating in here.

This location’s staff is extremely friendly. They said hello to me as soon as I walked in the door and even engaged in some small talk. Above and beyond the normal fast food experience these days. Thanks to Michelle!

I love Ivars’ clam chowder. I have never had better chowder anywhere. This particular location has a very friendly staff, great service, and the environment is super clean. I go here every once in a while because I live close by, and the prices are good!

If you want big portions for the money your in the wrong place the fish and chips basket had tiny pieces of fried fish I mean they look like deformed fish sticks you figure how expensive it is to eat her the portions would be better“not” I give this joint one star because it makes me feel like I didn’t get what I paid for.

This review is strictly for this certain location on highway 99. Specifically the manager working on May 18, 2014. Wow. Horrible service. The manager is SO RUDE and very unpleasant.
I walked in there with my friend and my newborn puppy sleeping in my arms. As I was ordering, the lady in the back cooking was glaring at me. She then told the cashier, «that order is to go» and the cashier then asked me, «To go right?» No, I was not planning to order to go but when I looked back to the cook, who I later found out was the «manager», she was nodding her head rudely basically saying I wasn’t allowed to eat at the restaurant.
Another employee walked by and was at awe with my puppy and started petting her, and her manager started glaring and was obviously unpleased. After I ordered, I sat by the door watching the manager cook my food to make sure she didn’t do anything to my food, but to my surprise, she actually just gave me a very small and not very tasty piece of fish. I only ordered one piece of fish and it was way smaller compared to the fish my friend ordered.
Not to mention, I didn’t receive one thank you or even a smile. Only from ONE employee who was the only seeming to be providing customer service. She even seemed apologetic for her managers impolite manners.
Overall, horrible experience. I understand if there is a no dog policy, but as a «manager», at least politely tell me YOURSELF, instead of forcing me to order to go. There’s a more professional way to handle customers with a new born puppy in their arms. Never have I experienced such horrible service.
Honestly, because of that manager, I will NEVER be returning to this location. The cashier was also unpleasant and didn’t seem friendly at all. I wish I could give this place negative five stars, because they shouldn’t be hiring unfriendly people. Especially as a manager position.
This experience was unbelievable. Explaining it isn’t even comparable to the actual experience. I wish I had said something to that lady, because she was unbelievably rude.

Don’t ever order anything but the fish and chips or you will be disappointed. I ordered the seafood combo for almost 10 bucks and I got a tiny sliver of cod smaller than my finger. Hardly got any shrimp or clams but my basket was loaded with french fries, also the rest of my family hardly got their money worth of food. 30 dollars for mostly french fries, next time I will just go to a restaurant. At this place sometimes you get good service or you get the ladies with the big attitude and very tight with the food. You never know what your gonna get here! Depends on if the staff is in the mood to cook or not. If you like spending 30 dollars for little slivers of fish this is the place for you.

The most underwhelming fish & chips experience ever. Wasted both cash & calories for this sad, overpriced lunch :-(

Love the fish, love the chowder! Wish I could buy Ivar’s fish like KFC fried chicken, in a bucket and pick the sides I want. No fries, just chowder and slaw!

I was suggested to go here by a local. So of course I had to go!
My experience was pretty good. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was good compared to other restaurant chains.
I think its similar a Long John Silvers, except done right. I would give it 3 stars because it wasn’t mind blowing, however it earned a 4^th star because of the garlic vinegar (their version of malt vinegar) sitting next to the ketchup station. This was amazing! If I didn’t have any values or ethics it would have ended up in my handbag!
It was a little pricey for the quality/​type of restaurant that it is. However I will be back when I am looking for a decent tasting meal on the go!

Overall this Ivars location is representative of the quality seafood Ivars is known for. The establishment is clean and neat, the service fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend this Ivars Seafood Bar location.

We just went to this place and got REALLY great service. They brought us out extra fish without even asking because they said they gave us small pieces. They also delivered wet wipes to our table for our kids when we were done. Check out the cajun fish. It’s the best. Don’t be a sucker for the smoked salmon chowder or anything besides the white.
The only reason why I am not giving this place 5 stars is because it still falls in my fast food category and I consider pretty pricey.
