I had a facial and brow wax today with Shelley. Worst experience. I had been working on evening out my eyebrows with another lady at this location. After my waxing today one eyebrow is higher than the other. I have a constant look of surprise on my face now. She had asked what I’d like to focus on during my facial and I asked for extractions and hydration. Her response was«Ok, I’ll focus on relaxation.» She spent a total of 2 minutes on extractions. I also left with soaking wet hair. I know your hair will not be perfect after a facial but it looked like I just showered. I would give this a zero star experience if I could but there are others whom work here that do a fantastic job.

This place(as a whole company) is always a hit or miss. I had a hair cut a few weeks ago here. The hair cut was fine, nothing special. However, when I checked in the reception wasn’t very friendly. They didn’t offer me a drink or a robe. Then I watched as everyone behind me in line checking in got offered both. I look young and I think that can hinder their service here a lot– because they think I’m younger than I am, they feel comfortable giving me less customer service. I don’t know why I still bother coming here.

I wouldn’t come here again if my stylist worked elsewhere. The front desk staff are terrible… it’s like they’re going out of their way to ignore you. There is no order of how they attend to folks waiting to be helped, just whomever can flag them down first. You can’t easily form a line bc the receptionists move around from one computer to another. The services here are not cheap, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect some basic courtesy and manners… like smile and greet every person as they walk in, attend to people in order, if you offer a beverage and the client accepts give them a beverage. I think they teach some this at fast food restaurants.

Scarlett is amazing! I’ve gotten my deep tissue massages with her these past couple months and she’s been great! Really has helped alieviate my upper back pain.

Makeup by Erin was very disappointing, she applied so much foundation I had to completely wash my face when I got home and do my makeup all over again. Eyes makeup was pretty bad. Will never go back for this service.

WHY I WON’T EVERCOMEHEREAGAIN: TL;DR: don’t get your hair colored/balayaged by BRIDGETTE. First, let me start off by saying that management and the front desk staff have always been professional and courteous. I have nothing bad to say about them. I’ve been coming to this salon for years after I was matched up with ANNEA for a cut. She was really talented but left after a year or two from when I met her. After that I would come here for a cut and/or color every now and then. I came here for a cut once and tried a new stylist. I was not happy with the result. Management kindly reached out and offered a fix at no charge. I took it up and TASHA cut my hair nicely. I would recommend her. A year or so later I came in for a partial balayage with«B». After she colored my hair there were some areas I thought were missed. So I called the next day and asked what could be done. Management offered a consultation and fix. I took it up and was matched with MARISSA who did an amazing job. She told me I should’ve gotten a full balayage. So I went with that and paid the difference. I would recommend MARISSA. When someone is paying $ 76-$ 157 to get their hair done, I think it’s totally appropriate to get it fixed if you aren’t happy with the end result. And it’s not like I’m saying«cut my hair short» and then saying«I don’t like it short I want it permed.» The fixes are minor and corrective. What you don’t know is that when you ask for a fix, the person that first cut/colored your hair loses the commission and it goes to the fixer. And that can obviously leave bitterness with your first stylist/colorist. And omg, they WILL remember you. And that was apparent from my last visit. I had a full balayage done with B recently. You see, I didn’t think B did a bad job the first time, so I went with her again this time asking for a full balayage. But this time, she had me sign a consent form which in short said that«sometimes the color won’t be what you want and all future services will be paid by the client». Which in short means: no warranted fixes. This is when I should’ve gotten up and left. I asked if it was standard practice to have clients sign this form because I never signed one before. And she said she needs to start having clients sign it more often. I let B color my hair, we talked and that form came up and I asked if she made me sign it because I had my hair fixed before and she said that the form protects colorists, lets them stand by their work, and also that it prevents people from taking advantage of Gene Juarez’s policy if the customer isn’t satisfied with their cut/color. Maybe B felt slighted from when I last had her and changed up(and paid for the difference) to a full balayage which I think was considered a fix. But I thought it was wrong to imply that I was taking advantage. I think when you pay $ 100+ for something and it doesn’t come out right, it’s good business practice to offer a fix and allow the customer to be satisfied with the service they received. It’s one of the reasons why I kept trying new stylists with GJ. Other smaller, private salons will also allow the client to be happy and get a fix.(I once had a friend that went back to a colorist three times to get the color just right.) When you’re paying that much, I think it’s fair. I asked B for cooler blonde/brown tones with this balayage. Let me just say: After I signed the form, I don’t think B cared for my hair or what I wanted. Right now I have gray, orange, and black streaks in my hair. And there’s pretty much nothing I can do about it except drop another $ 100+ and go to another salon. OR… tell everyone to either not sign that form or don’t get your hair colored by BRIDGETTE. Because you’re screwing yourself.

Gillian has been helping me get my hair back to the correct color without damaging it. She’s great, and I’m so great full that she is able to color it– I had used henna, and coming back from that isn’t easy!

I had balayage done at this location and I disliked the result. Gene Juarez management had no problem withscheduling a correction for free. Rita Dillinger(who did not do the balayage) corrected it with foil and did a fantastic job! She also styled my hair with large curls and it looked great. At a different time I had my hair styled by Cayley Keogn and I also loved it.

I went in Friday, and my daughter had an appointment on Saturday of this week. First, I’d like to say that even though I forgot her name, my daughter’s experience was wonderful! The lady who did her hair was amazing for calming my 5 year olds nerves. My appointment however, was a less than satisfying. The color I wanted for my hair is not the color I left with. And the lady who did it, kept telling me that she could see the color. I couldn’t see it then, I don’t see it now. She talked me into getting a bayalage type hair color with my natural dark brown color on top, gradually going down to a violet red color. The violet red color was originally what I went in for! You can’t see any color but my natural hair color. Very disappointing! Update: I called and they are doing what they can to fix it!

I love love LOVED my experience here. I wanted to go from light blonde(foiled) to a softer blonde closer to my roots and rose gold /light pink without going crazy. Marissa did my balayage and she is AMAZING!!! I absolutely would recommend her as a colorist. She’s a miracle worker. Also, Crosby did a wonderful job with my cut and style. She cut off all the damage but left my hair pretty long still. So very happy!

I ve been here 3 times now, first time for a haircut and the other 2 times for color. The last time(today) was the most pleasant visit ever. I had the pleasure of seeing Kimberlee Dora who transformed my old balayage(which was fixed into an ombré that grew out to make my hair look like it was dyed in 1996 and grew out) into a fashion show looking like hair. It was AMAZING. She did not rush me at all and made sure the effect needed was actually happening before she washed me really through(lots of places always neglect my neck area). I also liked that she was careful not to pull my hair hard and it felt really pleasant getting it done with her! I will return! Thank you, girl! :))

I had a real mess on my head from previous attempts out in wenatchee to get what I wanted. The colorist and gal who cut my hair did a beautiful job. I was offered coffee and a rove by a fine gentleman upon entering. Great service, but pricey. You definitely get what you pay for, but the products they use are not affordable to take home to attempt to keep your luscious locks.

A year later and I’m STILL dealing with this!!! I had blonde hair when I came in here and the girl who touched up my roots(she was a Sr. stylist btw) put product in a squirt bottle, applied to my roots and stuck & forgot me under the heater. She told me if it tingles it’s completely normal… Pshh! I had 3rd degree burns ALL over my scalp… Went to ER that night– had to take antibiotics, had cream to put all over to prevent infection. Now, a year later I have my hair is so thin, I get these bumps all over my scalp still that are very painful and still have to use cream & take medication to help with it!!! Makes me so angry!!! I called after this happened as well and corporate in Bellevue asked me to use Sprite on my scalp… I was like your kidding? But nope, she was serious! Shoot me! NEVER will I walk back into this place!!! Oh, and they never refunded my service!!! I paid $ 300 for 3degeee burns!

I came in recently for a new hair color. Since this was my first time there I called and requested someone on the lower end of the pricing scale, and was matched with Violet. Thank God! She was the sweetest woman and we made great conversation as she applied the color. After she rinsed my color out we came back to the chair and I was a little shocked at seeing myself with brown hair again! She gave me a nice, luxurious blowout and was so gentle(I’ve been dealing with a little thinning because of hormone issues so I’ve been hyper aware of any hairs coming out lately). My color turned out stunning. Truly, it was the exact shade of brown I had shown her from a pinterest photo. My hair looks and feels amazing and I’m so happy I was scheduled with Violet! If I can work up the nerve I want her to help me get some purple streaks in my hair, and she even helped me work out a plan for doing this while we were chatting.

The customer service person called and offered to give us a decent discount on the scheduled services. Honestly, I was just planning on returning the lack of courtesy I had been shown by not making the appointment. I’m glad it worked out, and my daughter likes her hair. I still feel very strongly that the assembly line business model they are using degrades their brand. Something needs to be done about the disappointing turnover with the talent, too. Those relationships are important. Going to Gene Juarez used to mean something — that your appearance was valuable to you, and you were willing to pay for the best. That aspect has been seriously diluted in recent years — but I Am certain it isn’t too late to get back to that place with a little effort and investment in human capital. 1−3−15UPDATE — this place really and truly is a joke. My daughter has an appointment in an hour for a partial foil and a hair cut. They just called and let me know that Derek would not be available for her hair cut. This is what happened back in September, basically. Once is understandable — two consecutive appointments is not acceptable. I don’t know if this is a Derek issue or a salon issue but what I do know? This location is a nightmare, and is dragging down the brand reputation. School starts tomorrow so we don’t have a lot of options for today. I will find a place that values customer relationships and my family will be going there from now on. A customer since 1983.

First of all, I would like to say, they are all professional. Would like to thank all of them who served us today. As soon as we walked in, they were politely asked us for robe or not, and asked us water or coffee or tea. Very high class decorations. Didn’t wait for long and called me in. The one who did my hair is so so so polite and nice. Very talkative and funny. I did a bleach and tone, and my black hair didn’t pick it up; and she offered me a free redo one. And my husband got an hair cut, and got a massage. The massage was fantastic. He loved it and enjoyed it. She was very nice and talkative as well. We are very satisfied with out experience and would definitely come back next time. Price is very reasonable, as far as the service was very nice and I feel like it deserves this decent price. I can’t wait until my next week redo :-)

I booked a consultation a few weeks before my sister’s wedding. Due to her«rainbow» theme, I wanted to get my hair oil-slick dyed. I was upfront and honest with Kelsie(sp?), the color specialist. I gave her the time frame, showed pictures, and stated my expectations. She recommended that I not get my hair bleached, but that I get a full foil. She stated it would not last as long and not be as vibrant, but it would damage my hair less. I said as long as it lasted until the wedding, I was OK with it. She had me book the last available appointment she had prior to my flight out to the wedding, and advised that I not wash my hair prior to the appointment. I arrived for the foil and was provided a liability waiver to sign. She told me that the colors they would use are temporary and may wash out, depending on my hair. I was speechless. I asked what product they used, and Googled it on my phone to find info on how long it would last. I found recommendations on how to pretreat my hair to make the color last longer. I asked her if they did this. Nope. I decided that I would take the chance that it wouldn’t wash out after two washes(how many showers I need before the wedding), and signed the form. She then came back and asked me which colors I wanted. WHAT??? I had shown them to her several times and stated them at least once. She then informs me that the yellow and orange won’t take. At that point I was done. I had lost all confidence in her, and wanted to leave. I kept asking her why she hadn’t told me any of this during the consultation. I even told her I would have gladly made another appointment before today to see how my hair would react, had I known the temporary dye wouldn’t «take». She just looked at me like I was an ignorant fool. She didn’t walk me out. I put away the robe and almost walked out the front exit, when I decided to ask for a manager. With my background in retail and service, I knew the last thing you want is a customer to leave angry. I waited 5 – 10 minutes(apparently she was talking to Kelsie), and then she came up and asked me how she could help. The whole time I was telling her what happened, she kept glancing away at a computer screen and clicking on her mouse. When she made eye contact, it was almost a glazed over«get on with it» look. She interrupted me and asked if there was anything she could do to resolve the issue. I was floored. She confirmed that it wouldn’t have been their policy to fully inform their customers during a consultation, and that it would have been my initiative to schedule another appointment, had I wanted one. So now I know that it is the store policy to screw new customers, and that Kelsie was only acting as she was trained. I am so livid. Had I been given all the information, I would have not been in this position. So if you are new to salon services, or have an important event for which you are seeking services, DONOT, I repeat, DONOT go here. You will be putting your eggs in a basket that won’t deliver, will give you incomplete information, treat you like an undesirable and blame you for the miscommunication. Thank you for helping me let my sister down.

I have had a great experience at Gene Juarez both times I have been. Marissa is so talented in balayage and has made my hair dreams come true. It is pricey but it worth it to find someone who truly knows what they are doing. When you have a vision and someone can help you achieve it, it is worth every penny! I will be going back to Gene Juarez and Marissa for all my hair dreams.

This review is specifically for Inna the makeup artist. She recently did my makeup for my wedding and it was PERFECT. We did a trial the week before, and the total cost was $ 100 but then $ 50 worth of product was included. I of course went over that with the product(whoops) but that’s probably their plan. At any rate, Inna was awesome. The appointment only took about 45 minutes both times, so she works quickly, and she was super friendly. Even more importantly, my makeup looked SO good. I got a ton of compliments both in person and from people who only saw photos. I wish I could have her come to my house and do my makeup every day, but since that is probably not going to happen, I’ll settle for writing this review and letting other people go get beautiful makeup as well.

Let me tell you, I have had some sh! tty haircuts in my 24-year career as a human. Like, my parents, for whatever reason, didn’t understand that a bowl cut didn’t go with my double chin. They may have thought I was a boy. Now that I am on Tinder, it is especially important for my hair to be as fabulous as possible, which is why I go to Gene Juarez. I have gotten my hair cut and colored here for the past two years and I always leave satisfied and ready to twerk at the club. I never wait too long and they always serve me refreshments. If you’re getting your hair cut, I recommend seeing Zaira or Molly; they know their way around scissors and whenever I go, it feels like I’ve known them for forever.
