Just around the corner from City Hall – perfect for lunch: great prices, selection, fast, friendly service, and quite tasty. Chile rellenos and burritos were really good.

I have no clue where the other reviews came from but this place is the worst. I wish I had taken a picture of my food. I ordered chicken & cheese flautas dinner. I had cold refried beans with no cheese or taco sauce. three chicken falutas that had no cheese and the chicken inside had NOSEASONINGATALLNOTHING!!! I mean not a spec of ANYTHING plain dry white chicken it was so gross. It tasted like boiled plain chicken. Then on top was about 4 shreds of lettuce and 2 lil cubes of tomato. I will say the rice was good. Service is really slow. The only reason we came here was Brother’s Deli was over packed. Go to a REALAUTHENTIC Mexican takeout on Lewis St Casa Amelia. You will NOT be DISSAPOINTED!!!

This place is good and very authentic. The fajitas were tasty and the HUGE menu has plenty of options for even the pickiest of eaters. Actual Mexicans run the place so that’s also a plus and the atmosphere is very casual and cozy. You feel like you are in Mexico. For an alcoholic beverage have a beer or a glass of wine. The only negative is that the sangria and cocktails are mostly juice. Pass on both.

I like this place so far. Its a hungry times saver. The place it self its not that beautiful but the food is great and hey thats what counts!!! Micheladas are a most try!!! I really like their fresh Mexican style tortillas. This is a real Mexican place. So don’t think you gonna go there and eat Salvadorian food cuz you wont. I wont give five stars for some reasons: the service could improve(not talking about every single server). Seems like the place is family owned because if you go there more than a couple of times you will notice their children behind the counter, in the kitchen, yelling and crying and hey who doesn’t love kids but its kind of inappropriate. The breaded chicken is not hand breaded and whatever they buy is not that great either. There is a person in particular that I wont say if its a female or male cuz I don’t want to cause trouble for anyone. But that person has her mind in some other dimension because she always get my orders wrong and she does everything in a very slow way lol. None of that is that bad, its all fixable but I go on my lunch time I need a fast service because I only got 30min. There is another person that is not there all the times the only time I was helped by her was a day I went there at 4:30pm. I had to literally call her many times because she wouldn’t come to my table get my order and she would just stay there looking at us and talking to the person in the kitchen. When she finally came she asked what we wanted. I asked my friend what did she wanted to order and when I turned to my side to place my order the girl was gone. Like wth cant you wait a second? The place is empty its not like you are busy!!! When was the time to pay the bill she never gave us one she just told us the total. I was chocked!!! But not everybody is bad. There are two guys that are very good actually. They always get the orders right. They are very polite and nice. One works in the morning and the other at night. The night guy does a great Michelada … Over all they should just hire better ppl or train the ones they have…

One of my fave restaurants to eat at, and definitely #1 in terms of Mexican restaurants. All the workers are extremely kind and gracious, not to mention that the food is fantastic! The chef also waits on people as well– it’s always nice to get a face behind the food. I’ve gotten their tortas several times as well as their quesadillas which have never disappointed. The prices are great too– especially for such a high quality meal.

Great food and great service. I highly recommend this place to everybody. I had fish tacos with rice and beans and my boyfriend had a sandwich with chorizo and lettuce and tomato with red sauce plus a side order of rice and beans. everything we had was delicious and fresh. we most definitely will be returning there again.

While I am not Mexican, this place seems to carry authentic Mexican, and not an American interpretation of it. The food is made by a single woman who makes everything by hand, from scratch. Everything here is fresh and unique. She cooks like she was cooking for guests at her own home, only on professional equipment.(except for a fridge that looks like a household model) I don’t remember what I had exactly, but I remember it was made right when I ordered it, and it was fresh, and nothing there seemed like it had come out of the freezer, or had come pre-made. The tortilla chips were hot, not warm but hot(made right when I asked for them), and the two salsas they came with were divine. The green one cannot be beat, it has just enough heat to it too! My mother, who was always against hot sauces because she thought they overwhelmed food fell in love with hot sauces/chile peppers because of this place. Location is very clean too! Ahh, but there were a few things that cost this place a star. Service was slow, not the cooking of the food, but the«waitering» if the term is appropriate. Even though I loved the fresh tortilla chips, I would think that they would be ready for customers to eat when they walked in(although, I have a feeling they are a side dish, as they may have cost extra, or they were waiting for it to get busy) And… Water only comes bottled.(which sucks since spicy stuff needs loads of water sometimes)

This place has authentic Mexican made to order. The burritos and flautas were tasty. The salsa was actually spicy and they also had a less spicy tomatillo salsa. They also have a daily fresh squeezed juice and the kids loved the cheese quesadillas. Hard to find something like this in Boston for the price!

Stopped here for lunch during a class in the area and after reading Unilocal.Seems quite authentic, a bit drab inside but the woman working inside was very pleasant. Ordered the carnitas burrito and added jalapeños. It was definitely tasty and fresh but could have used more meat and less rice. If in the area again I would probably return to try something else.

Let me start by saying I am not a huge fan of Mexican food and I try a different restaurant every once in a while to see if my dislike is only due to where I dined or is because of the cuisine. Beware the menus listed online are not up to date and caused some confusion with take out orders. The tacos were very good and the homemade salsa and hot sauce outstanding. The chicken quesadilla was enormous and absolutely stuffed with chicken. I was disappointed in the beef enchilada and one other beef dish I had. In both dishes the beef had bits of gristle that were very unpalatable. Overall better than the americanized mexican fare you may see elsewhere but with inconsistent quality.

This is how Mexican food should be. No refried beans and pounds of melted cheese, just braised meats, fresh cilantro, and spicy salsa. Soft corn tortillas for tacos, never flour.

My little girl and I went to Brothers(across the street) for lunch, and when we saw the line I said«ooooooo, it’s time for Lindo!» I’ve always wanted to go, and I totally forgot they were that close. I’m so glad we crossed the street. We had the best mom/daughter lunch(she’s a picky 6yo) and the amazingly friendly waitress and I did a bit of sign language to make a custom dish for her(rice and beans). The atmosphere is so cute and friendly. And to my girl’s delight they have a coin op old skool machine that spits out trinkets. Made her day. I loved my meal. Just get yourself there now. Now!

I’m back in Lindo’s arms, so to speak, having recently relocated back to the Swamp. I ate a carnitas burrito here last week that was a brilliant piece of work. The carnitas are so moist and flavorful here — never had ‘em better, even in Texas. I can’t imagine going around the corner to Tacos Lupitas these days, even though they’re a good spot, too. ps, My Ecuadorian girlfriend tells me Mexico Lindo is a popular song title. Google it on Google Maps and you’ll see dozens of restaurants across the country with the same name. Fun!

OOkay so after reading all these great reviews on this place, I decided to try it for a quick take out dinner. We just bought our first house in Lynn and ere looking for some new good places around the area for take out. This place was one of the top ones here on . I walked in and the staff was very friendly. I ordered 2 beef tacos, a chicken quesadilla and the pork gordita. I also got the salsa’s with the tortita chips. The prices where great and am happy I only spent $ 10 bucks. I got home with it, and opened the boxes. The portions were big except for the tacos we got. The cheese they drench on everything is a white American cheese and is disgusting. The only thing we found somewhat okay with was the pork gordita. The tacos were very dry, and so were the chicken quesadillas. There salsa is the homemade variety and one was very tangy but not in a good way and the other one. was very hot and watery. I do not recommend this place for anyone who enjoys a good taco with the fixings. I’ve been to Mexico 2 years ago and have eaten authentic Mexican food and can tell you this place doesn’t come close. Just the white cheese they drench on everything kills the food. Plus I like my hard shell tacos, and make phenomenal arepas that could take down this place.

An unwarranted«aha» moment. I’ve had them before, traveling all the way to Kansas City and Texas for barbecue, or to New Orleans for the most incredible po-boys. But who knew, that to experience tacos and finally understand why people go so ape-shit over them, one only need head to the pinnacle, the jewel of ethnic food communities: Lynn, Massachusetts. Mexico Lindo is just another tiny restaurant, next to an unassuming bakery storefront boasting delicious Guatemalan delicacies. There are a few celebratory sombreros, and various Jesus and Mary posters hung on the restaurant walls. There’s a counter, and a few tables… and your host is the most courteous, gracious«G» that I’ve ever had the honor of receiving sustenance from. We took a table near the window, and after perusing the menu, both ordered a plate of three tacos with re-fried beans and rice. My bigger half chose the al pastor, chorizo, and tripe. I also went for the al pastor and tripe, but at the last possible moment noticed a specials board featuring«tacos de cabeza.» Switch hitter for the chorizo, yo quiero un taco de cabeza, por favor, Senior«G», eres muy guapo, muy guapo. Smile smile. A few moments after ordering, our host emerged from the kitchen with homemade tortilla chips, and two delicious salsas. The first was a fiery-red red tomato based salsa. A little heat, but the good kind, which has a soft kick at first, and grows into a lingering burn. The second was a tangy tomatillo sauce: vinegary and sweet with bits of onion and cilantro: truly a joy. After munching happily on our little complimentary appetizer, our food arrived. The corn tortillas were clearly homemade with a lovely warmed char. The al pastor was among the best I’ve ever had. Pork with rich spices, and a nice spin on the plancha, also had a subtle sweetness. The tripa taco was delicious. It was much different than the more expensive tacos I’ve had at La Verdad at Fenway. This taco, I suspect, was constructed of properly cleaned pork chitterlings, soaked in a sauce, and again, given a spin on the plancha. They were delicious: chewy and savory. My husband’s chorizo was overflowing and delicious, but my star switch hitter, la taco de cabeza, my friends, this is not to be missed if you too are so lucky to take a good look at the specials board near the back of the restaurant. Grissel and fat mixed with the right amount of slow-cooked, tender meat extracted from the head of a valiant bovine. Wax poetic? It was a fucking art, and you best order it, or ELSE.(Really… you might like it… it’s really really good, folks.) By the way, the re-fried beans were solid, and the rice was the first time that I’ve elected to finish my entire plate… this is not your Tex-Mex restaurant, Uncle Ben’s throwaway rice. I enjoyed the tacos, the service, and the salsa at Mexico Lindo far more than any other Mexican food that I’ve had anywhere. They were cheap(our whole meal with a couple drinks totaled at about twenty dollars), and they left me craving more, and confused at why I could have ever judged Mexican food so poorly. I implore you to take a trip to Lynn, and really taste tacos that someone put some serious care into.

It’s quaint, dirt cheap and the food is pretty good. Everything seems super fresh — when your food comes out, you definitely do not feel like it’s been sitting out back in buckets waiting to be ordered. Even the tortillas and corn chips are made in-house. In fact the prices almost throw you off, because it seems a la carte — I ordered a taco and a gordita, which turned out to be a mountain of food with an entire meal leftover. I’m conflicted about the taco because the filling was so so fresh and delicious, but the corn tortilla is just not my thing. If you want things like tomato, lettuce or cheese, you have to ask for them. The service was weird, though. Things didn’t come out in quite the right order(I mean, I enjoyed the fiery hot salsa but it would’ve been nice to have my drink while I was eating it). I don’t understand why they bother with waiter service at all, when the staff is so neglectful and uninterested in doing it. If this were a counter service place, I’d probably give it 5 stars.

Mexico Lindo is the most authentic Mexican restaurant I know of in the North Shore. You won’t find here the thick enchiladas with sweet salsa and yellow cheese you typically find in Mexican style restaurants in the USA. The menu has plenty of choices, including a few vegetarian options(cheese quesadillas, memelas), kids menu and daily specials such as tamales every other Thursday and Pozole on Saturdays. Located in downtown Lynn, the restaurant is not the place to impress a hot date but rather is more suited for a quick bite or home delivery. At Mexico Lindo I have found the type of food I grew up with –I am originally from Tampico, Mexico– and great service from the two lovely ladies that run the place. My recommendations are: chicken flautas(crispy rolled up tortillas served with lettuce, fresh queso and cream), enchiladas and beef tacos, which are made with fresh tortillas.
