I’ve been an extreme regular to the Nuthouse since 2009. I’ve ordered a majority of the menu items and had the kick ass Sunday brunch countless times in my life. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a better establishment for your classic American comfort foods in Whatcom county. The steaks and ribs are the highlight of the show. The Thursday night prime rib is pure excellence. I’ve never seen au jus served with horseradish for prime rib but its an absolute must have at this point and prime rib will never be the same without it. The basic Nuthouse deluxe burger is my favorite hamburger of all F’N time. $ 13 for a stellar burger with the AMAZING waffle fries is steal. Go somewhere else to find a better burger and fries at a similar price and you will just be disappointed. All dinners include a soup or salad starter and the regulars know and live for the loaded baked potato soup. Its worth coming in for on its own and its merely a starter soup. You’ll forget about grandma’s cooking real quick. The staff is great. The owner/chef Tony knows what he is doing in that kitchen. He’s a Korean war veteran who’s always wanted to own his own restaurant and finally got to live his dream in 2009 with the Nuthouse. He has so much pride and care in his work. That restaurant is his baby and I know he’s always willing to do what it takes to make his business successful and his customers coming back with quality service and top notch meals. Their main bartender/server Bev is extremely good at her job with absurd customer service but is also quite the hilarious character. You have Bev as your server you’re getting taken care of and a ton of laughs. You wanna get some over the top service ask her about soap. Weird right? She’s really into making soap. If you see some low reviews on here along with the 5 star ones just remember this one fact. If you get the medium ok standard service at a restaurant, Best Buy or literally anywhere you are not likely to review it. You got what you came for nothing special, nothing bad either. 5 star level service you’ll likely tell your friends about it and go again. If you leave any business unsatisfied or angry for whatever reason that’s when you take to the internet and start slamming them. There’s a reason Unilocal is not the most reliable source to determine a businesses worth. Only the pissed off people typically write reviews when 99% of the time the other customers are happy. The Nuthouse Grill rulz and I’ll continue going there for my burgers, steaks and brunch for many more years to come.

DONOTEATHERE! The Nuthouse Grill is horrible. The staff ours rude and does not want to help. The food is not good and they take no pride in the food. I have eaten here two times and disappointed both times. I even went a far as calling the owner and he lies and makes excuses for the staff and food. Skip this place and eat somewhere else.

One of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Overcooked chicken wings and natchos with burned cheese and a scoop of what appeared to be canned chili on top. Server was great but the food was so bad I will never go back.

the Name says it all. Been here twice in the last 6 weeks, with the same group of friends, of which one likes this place.(???). Overpriced Frozen Deep Fried Food. Slow kitchen. Uninterested, slow, wrong line of work wait staff. Free old rancid buckets of peanuts on the table. How does a place like this stay in business. Hey Nuthouse Owner call Robert Irvine of «Restaurant Impossible» cause the Nuthouse could use his help. Again, the name says it all.

The sweet rolls to munch on are delicious. The bistro beef dip sandwich is seriously amazing with thinly sliced tri-tip, mushrooms and gouda and an au jus to dip it in. So delicious. They have a few local beers on tap too.

We were at a baseball tournament at the fields next door when we unexpectedly had a break in games. Our team — thirteen 14 year old boys and their parents — came in unannounced during the Sunday Brunch.(We had tried to eat next door at NY Pizza who wouldn’t serve us). They seated us quickly and happily. Moving tables and chairs around so the boys could sit together and brought water(and lots of it) really quickly. The service was awesome — 14 year old boys LOVE to throw stuff on the floor. Ordering was done extremely well — they processed us all by jersey numbers. Some of us had the buffet while some of us ate off the menu. All of the food was exceptional and the staff was extremely courteous to both the players(who sat by themselves) and the parents. Highlight of the meal — an elderly customer who eats there regularly — gave the boys an awesome magic show and the staff applauded as well! Highly suggest this place!!!

Drove up to Lynden for the weekend and came across this wonderful place. The atmosphere was just OK, but the food was great. And the clam chowder was one of the best I have ever had. I’d drive the 85 miles again just to get more of that chowder. And the baby back ribs did not disappoint either. Prices were very reasonable.

Came here with a party of 7 and had a nice meal. I wont go into detail about every dish but I had a half rack of ribs and they were pretty good. The rice pilaf was also pretty good but I’m not sure I would call it a pilaf. My son had a burger and some others in our party had steaks and shrimp. In all, it was good with one person saying their steak was disappointing.

Anyone who says this place isn’t good is lying. You seriously have to check this place out. The peanuts are just a part of the atmosphere wether you like them or not. Your food also comes with sweet bread before which is to die for!!! The food and waffle fries are amazing I drive 30 minutes atleast once a month to go to The Nuthouse. I love it.

Not a fan of peanut shells on the ground or the lousy décor, or the lack of personality that their staff show but I’m hoping the food will turn this review around.

This is the 5th time I’ve ordered the grilled chicken is consistently tender and juicy. The waffle fries are the best. Tony works magic in that kitchen and Bev is a wonderful server. Really fantastic.

This was my last meal at the Nuthouse. Food is so-so however the service sucked. The Wait staff was rude inattentive and could or should have been elsewhere. After taking our order the gal came back once, did not ask if everything was alright just stopped looked and kept going right back to the bar area. If you wonder why we left a .30 tip figure it out

Good, casual dining. Great for peanut lovers. Service was very good. Bev has clear pride of ownership. I left warmed and filled on a rainy day.

Peanut shells on the floor was great when I was a kid — now it is just a mess! I can only imagine what might happen to anyone with a peanut allergy as they just walk passed this place. Actually I recommend most people just keep walking passed this place With slow service even when almost empty and with the menu being nothing exciting you are better off staying home and making your own home cooked meal.

I love the Nuthouse Grill… especially the potato soup and the BBQ ribs are fall off the bones awesome. They also do a caesar salad the way a Caesar should be made with Chef Tony’s own recipe… always crisp and fresh. Warm sweet rolls are served immediately on being seated and very hard to resist. Their steaks are the best in the area. Service has always been prompt and friendly. I am in this area often and always look forward to their delicious food.

Nuthouse is very casual and friendly. Peanutshells on the ground: yup. But it’s really not vegetarian friendly: side salads have bacon. For MOST people in the USA, this is a huge plus as they don’t skimp on the serving size. Really, the food is good basic comfort food.

With peanut shells covering the floor, country music bumping, and elbows on the table, the Nuthouse is as casual dining as you can get! In the middle of Lynden farmland, this is a great spot to release your inner hick. They give massive amounts of food, with peanuts at the table(chuck the shells with reckless abandon, so fun!) mouth watering fresh yeast rolls, big crispy green salads or baked potato soup(amazing) and your choice of entrée and side. The steak is one of the best I’ve had, tender and seasoned perfectly. When I’m up north or jonesing for a big hunk of cow, I saddle up and mosey on down to the Nuthouse. Yeeeehaw!
