I bought from here 2 ½ years back and thought they had a pretty solid selection of records. Went back recently and couldn’t find anything that wasn’t indie/underground. Beck is about as «mainstream» as they got, which isn’t saying much. I honestly really want to support this place, but I find it hard to do so when they have a collection of records that appeal to a very small selection of people in this town.

When you can’t find what your looking for they will. Speakertree doesn’t have the largest selection of Vinyl but for the area its perfect. Ive ordered Vinyl from them and have received it quickly, they will always have me as a costumer.

Speakertree is a lifeline for vinyl fans living in central VA. Their selection is only middling compared to a big city, but outstanding for here. Great prices on used records and discs, standard retail on new stuff. An added plus are the live performances they sporadically host — each one has been great.

I love vinyl. And I was so glad when I Speakertree opened in July of 2008 and provided me(and Lynchburg) with a place to actually buy records(besides Goodwill). Located on 5th Street in downtown Lynchburg in an old building with worn hardwood floors and wonderful record-shop character, Speakertree is the only record store in the city. I find everything from the Avett Brothers’ newest releases to John Denver albums from the 70’s. Speakertree also sells CD’s, so you have that option as well. The owner of the shop(Blair Amberly) is always working – at least every time I have been there – and he really loves music and knows a lot about it, so it is fun to have conversations with him about different bands or songs. Anyway, I always appreciate local businesses like this and I always love record shops, so this is a great place.
