My favorite place to go in all of Lynchburg, the vibe inside the restaurant was great and the staff are very friendly! I definitely recommend it if you’re in the city of Lynchburg!

Wow. Very, very good Chinese food, especially for down here! What a pleasant surprise. Just stopped here driving through Lynchburg, and had a great Chinee meal thanks to all you Unilocalers. WonTon soup was surprisingly peppery… fantastic! Hunan Beef was not very spicy, but had good flavor. KungPao Chicken nice and spicy, w plenty of peanuts. Szechuan Beef was very spicy and very good… not a ton of beef on the plate, but yum! General Tso’s chicken was dark meat and was good, wish it was spicy, though. Best surprise was the excellent, not stale fortune cookies. Sadly, most Chinese places seem to have terrible fortune cookies! These were lightly vanilla flavored. The service was friendly, pleasant and polite, without being overly fawning. Wish I had marked it in my GPS… we will definitely return!

Let me start by saying I enjoy the cheap Chinese Buffett. I know what I am getting, all my favorites. After reading mixed reviews(I usually ignore the pretentious ones) I decided to give them a try. I arrived midweek around 1230. I found all my favorites on the islands including chocho chicken, cashew chicken and beef broccoli. I was surprised to see pork sticky rolls! Sadly, I didn’t find anything I really liked. The pork spareribs were overcooked, the chocho chicken was cold, in fact, for what time it was, a lot was cold. The hot&sour soup was thick, I don’t think that l that’s a good thing. I will try these guys again and maybe change my star rating. They do get points for exterior design.

My wife and I both love Asian cuisine. However, the further South we travel in America, the worse we like it.(Ordering Chinese in Florida is like signing your own death certificate.) We went on a weekday, right as they were opening. The menu looks great, but with the fresh food being put out for the buffet, we chose that. There were some highlights, like the steamed buns, hibachi chicken, and the lo mein(my favorite). The big problem was consistency. When my wife got her hibachi chicken(and I got seconds), it was extremely bland. Egg rolls were just passable, and overall, the food quality was average at best. Service was friendly, but extremely slow. We waited nearly 15 minutes to get our check, then realized they gave us someone else’s check. Overall, I wouldn’t return to the buffet again(Choice Hibachi Buffet on Wards Rd is a much better option.). For a quick takeout of lo mein or soup, it would fit in a pinch.

Very good food! Sushi was okay. The rice is the most moist rice I have ever had at a Chinese food restaurant.

We dined in on this occasion. The service left much to be desired– slow, confused and inefficient. The chef was very heavy handed with the soy sauce, on the rice and every other dish. The won ton soup was made, oddly enough, with beef broth and heavy doses of onion. The won tons were good. All in all adequate but not good enough to travel across town for another visit.

Due to the reviews of this restaurant, I decided to head over here for dinner while on a business trip in Lynchburg. While I can’t agree with the 4 – 5 star ratings, I did have a pretty enjoyable dinner here. When I came in, there were a few girls rolling silverware at what used to be a buffet(it wasn’t open & the lights were off over top of it). I asked if I could sit at the sushi bar & she said that was ok so I sat myself. The restaurant is dimly lit, but that’s better than being too bright. I was greeted by 2 ladies behind the sushi bar. They were very friendly & got me started off with a water while I looked over the menu. I ended up ordering 3 rolls: Mexican Roll: Avacado, Jalepeno, shrimp, crunchy mix with spicy mayo Spicy Tuna Roll Crispy Crab Roll: Crispy crab, smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber, & avocado I just HAD to try the Mexican Roll. I’m a sushi lover & I’ve tried it all over the place while on vacation — & I’ve never seen anything quite as unique as the Mexican Roll. The younger woman behind the bar made all of my rolls. She finished the Mexican Roll first & gave it to me to eat while I waited for the rest — I liked that a lot. The Mexican Roll was good! Just enough spicy with a unique taste. The Spicy Tuna Roll is my go-to with sushi — I love it! I’ve never seen it made the way she did it. She rolled a lot of cucumber into the roll, then topped it off with tuna. Interesting. The tuna was disappointing… there was so much cucumber that it kinda took over & the tuna wasn’t even spicy. At all. I used a lot of wasabi on this roll. It wasn’t horrible, it just wasn’t anywhere near as good as I’ve had it elsewhere. The Crispy Crab Roll was also very unique. I expected fried crab when I read«crispy crab» but that’s not what it is. It’s a normal crab stick, but there’s crispy stick like things on top of the roll. This was my favorite roll out of the 3. The customer service was great, she had a fortune cookie & my check in my hand within 3 minutes of my finishing. I paid up front & I was out the door. Overall I had a good experience, but I find it hard to believe that it’s the best sushi in the area.

Day 3 of being in Lynchburg, VA for work and thus far, me and my coworker Nuri have been very successful with scouting out great places to eat.(Thanks Unilocal!) We both have dietary restrictions, so when Nuri asked me if I was ok with Chinese, I thought it would be ok, and then he mentioned sushi. Wait — isn’t that Japanese? This restaurant had a little bit of everything; chinese, japanese and korean. Nuri ordered their homemade kimchee dish, which he loved. I was more in the mood for hot food(vs cold sushi) so I stuck with the buffet, which was very good as well. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Our entire bill was only $ 21; not bad.

Is it Chinese? Is it Japanese? Is it Korean? I’m not sure. What I can be certain about, however, is it is delicious. I went to Jade Palace today for lunch with a coworker. As mentioned in every single review I write, I’m a vegetarian, which presents some interesting dietary challenges. After perusing the buffet, and deciding that there weren’t enough veg options, I decided to order my own dish. One of the things that caught my eye on the menu was a dish consisting of Kimchee(Korean) and Tofu. I’m a nut about kimchee, and when I got back to the table and saw an appetizer of kimchee that was notated«homemade», I flipped my shoyu and ordered the tofu and kimchee dish. My meal arrived in a traditional hot-pot(Chinese). A large jet of steam escaped one side of the pot, while molten sauce bubbled around the edges of the lid. I knew I was in for a treat. The kimchee was delicious, the tofu was perfect, the sauce was spicy(I ordered it five stars), and the portion was gigantic. The dish, served with rice, was $ 8.45. I also had ordered a wakame salad(Japanese) which was the standard seaweed salad served everywhere. It was nicely plated on some carrot strings, and cost $ 3.99. My coworker loved the buffet, and ate everything she tried. The sushi looked good, although I didn’t try any. I’ll have to get back for some before I leave. The service was attentive and very friendly. The owner was walking around being friendly too… it seems like they run a pretty good business. Our entire bill was $ 21. Whether I need to say«wo chi su», «Watashi wa bejetarian desu», or «chae sheek joowee imm née da», I can freely say that Jade Palace is a solid bet for good parts of several Asian cuisines.

What a Great Place! Highly Recommend. We were a little worried at first that there were so few cars in the lot. Everything we experienced was first class. The place is immaculate, super clean and like new. The service is outstanding, everyone is courteous, prompt and attentive. We had the Sushi, which was on par with the better places I’ve had sushi. Thanks to the previous reviews because it was why we went. I can’t comment on the Chinese.

This is one of our favorite asian restaurants in Lynchburg. Incredible sushi, great service and a decent atmosphere. Not quite as nice as King’s Island though, which is probably our favorite in the area. My wife and I usually split a Philadelphia roll and some sort of entrée. The portions are plenty for us. We also love the complimentary crispy noodles before the meal. It’s great for take out, delivery or dining in. Give it a shot!

By far the best Sushi in the Lynchburg area. The Chinese food is really good too. There are two or three other places in Lynchburg where you can get Sushi, but they are about as good as what you would get in a grocery store. I do a lot of travel and seek out Sushi just about in every city. The Sushi here is top notch both on taste and presentation. My only concern with this restaurant is that it is located where a really bad Chinese restaurant use to be. I suspect that’s keeping many people away. Try this place, you won’t be sorry.
