The brunch food and selection was amazing, but the service and prices weren’t too-notch! Came here with a large group for a fun Galentine’s Day brunch for the fancy atmosphere and the better food. The meals were amazing — easily 5 stars for the meal I had! I ordered the Chicken Pretzel off of the lunch portion of the menu and dang. It didn’t disappoint! Delicious chicken sandwich with basil pesto on a salted pretzel bun with beer-battered, straight-from-heaven/the fryer fries. It was $ 13 which is high, but it’s brunch — so I’m paying for two meals, right? You have several options for the mimosas — at least 10 — with juices like Guava, Pomegranate, Mango, Grapefruit, Blueberry, Pineapple, etc. Plain orange mimosas are obviously for the weak. The pomegranate was good(a little light on the Pom in my opinion), but tasty. The length of time to order and for regular service wasn’t what I expected with a fancier restaurant like this! Reservations for 10am for our group of 14 were made a month in advance, so seating wasn’t a problem. However, the we didn’t get waters till about 10:15am and weren’t given menus till around 10:30am. I’m the type of lady that will order my meal based off of cost plus type — not just what I’m hungry for. We chatted and went through the menu, each of us wading through the delicious sweet vs. savory and breakfast vs. lunch options. The waiter came by around 20 minutes later, only after several of us held our hands up or waved to get the waiter’s attention. A friend was deciding between the Chicken Pretzel and the dry-aged sirloin and eggs. When asking the server what exactly«dry-aged» implied for the steak, the waiter said«it is a steak that is aged… Dry.» she ordered it, and jumped all in Food came out in about 20 minutes, and came out close to the same time for everything. We requested some extra sauces, etc., and they were brought out. For the steak, it was requested a few times to get a steak knife. When they looked at her butter knife the staff said«oh, yeah, that’s what we got for the steak!» Which was a little silly. Overall, I may try them out again for brunch, but would probably only go with a smaller group and a bigger budget! It is fancier, so it’s a fun time to dress up if you choose!

Had a fabulous crêpe benedict with a pear mimosa. The combination of cream cheese, crêpe, asparagus, and hollandaise was delicious. Truly enjoyed the meal.

I adore this restaurant. If I had to tell someone where to go to take a date and make her feel special. I would choose to tell them Rain Uptown. If you need to celebrate an anniversary, go here. Where did I choose to celebrate with all my family when I graduated from Texas tech? Here. Birthday dinner? This is the prefect spot to feel appreciated! I love this hidden gem of Lubbock. Yes it is in a strip mall area of other restaurants and business’. Who cares! It is the food and atmosphere that makes a nice dining experience. The inside is low lite and romantic feeling. There are tables and chairs, but also nice booths. I have always had amazing and friendly service here. The people who work here enjoy what they are doing. They also have a bar lounge area where there is often live music. It is great that the noise of that area doesn’t spill into the restaurant seating area. The food is fresh. The fish and seafood is flown in just for them multiple times a week. I usually always get the Sea bass topped with lobster in a creamy sauce. It is so filling and done perfectly. I really fancy their cream of asparagus soup. My absolute favorite thing Rain Uptown has to offer? Their two sides: the potato medley and the zucchini. The zucchini is lightly dusted with flour and fan fired. It melts in your mouth. I love this fresh and hidden restaurant.

Food is good, service is good and the atmosphere is nice. Waitress was a little slow at times but had a great sense of humor! Very enjoyable anniversary dinner.

I took my parents to Rain for Sunday brunch this past week, probably for the sixth time overall, and I always order the Eggs Benedict. This was hands down the best brunch we’ve had so far. I’ve only had dinner here once, it was amazing, and I’m looking forward to my next visit.

I spent four of the best years so far stationed in northern Italy about an hour north of Venice. As you can imagine my expectations for TRUE Italian food are very high, this place didn’t disappoint! I’ve been home for three years at this point and between now and when I return to Italy, this will be my relief…

MOLTOBUONO… BUT! Excellent short menu, nice variety. Went for brunch on Sunday-11:30. Full breakfast menu offered, or lunch! My friend had steak/eggs. Tender, eggs done right. I had balsamic chicken dish. Rich, cooked well, fluffy rice and nice veggie. Good wine list, lots of mimosas and different versions. Good bloody, just very busy and understaffed. She tried, but had too many tables. Service was painful, wine ordered with apps, came after main arrived. No chance to reorder… no order chance for dessert, just put a damper on a good meal.

Food is very good. However, drinks are so overpriced it’s ridiculous! They charged $ 5 for extra bolognese sauce, making my lasagna $ 27. Italian food is the cheapest food you can make. This isn’t Dallas, folks.

So, my daughter takes us here for what I was anticipating to be an overpriced mediocre brunch to which I tried to resist. I was pleasantly surprised when it was all said and done, with all 5 in my family thoroughly enjoying each of their meals. I was torn but eventually settled in on the Pork-chop and eggs, which was prepared perfectly. Overall between atmosphere and quality of food, this place is a good value and well worth the money and slight drive away from campus area which is were we were staying.

Mmmmmm love their cereal coated French toast! They always have the best brunch! Their fettuccine chicken and lasagna are amazing as well! Carafe mimosas are always a good choice! Service is always wonderful!

Now I have been to many places… But hands down one of the best… food is fabulous and service is great. I attended a party where they catered, was wonderful… I wish I was in Lubbock and could go there more often! I wish I had a plate of the escargot in front of me right now!!! Yum

From start to finish we had a phenomenal tour of Italian cuisine starting off with some great pesto Crème potato soup accompanied with fresh bread and the pesto gnocchi was spot on well done chef. I’ve had some heavy sauces on that dish before which don’t do so well to help keep a heavy dish light. The Alberto chicken could use a less overlooking on the chicken came out more on the dry side but still well enjoyed. To top it all off the manager Clint sold us on their homemade tiramisu and I must say as a chef myself who has made the desert from scratch it is bar none best in town.

Was really excited to go to this place with my family. Very nice interior, beautiful set up. Unfortunately, lots of things went wrong. The coffee was incredibly weak, tasted terrible. The waitress recommended espresso which had better flavor but turned out to be lukewarm at best. Our salad order came with dressing on it rather than on the side, which they fixed quickly. No big deal. The pepper shaker was empty and our toast was burnt. All these things by themselves obviously not a huge issue, but we alerted the manager just for his awareness and he promptly began coming up with excuses for why everything had happened instead of just apologizing and fixing it. They then charged us for two salads on the check… The salad that they had messed up and brought another one of. Our meal was discounted but not comped. I’ve worked in the food industry and if that many things go wrong, you comp someone’s meal. The food was great and I think they tried their best, but with prices like that along with the service I’m afraid to say I won’t be returning. When you charge high you have to be held to a high standard.

Food is decent quality, but they have jacked the prices up so significantly that it is no longer worth the cost. Additionally, the service is spotty more times than not because they seem understaffed. There are better choices in Lubbock for this type of food.

They need to let you know when you make a reservation that they are only offering ½ the menu because Lubbock is busy! Kinda a crazy thought to me would think they would want to SHOWALLTHEGOODSTUFF! Very $$$$$ I thought… Staff was very good and I will come back to visit the bar with live music!

This review is solely for Saturday brunch. DELICOUS! We went as a party of 8 for a friends birthday. They had a wide array to choose from with both savvory and sweet dishes. The two«stand out» dishes that were ordered by people at my table were the cereal crusted French toast and the crêpe Benedict. I had the crêpe Benedict and I LOVED it! It was a crêpe stuffed with cream cheese, ham, bacon, and asparagus. It was topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. They couldve been more generous with the hollandaise but that’s such a minor detail when everything else was so good! The potatoes were tender too. The cereal crusted French toast was also good but very sweet! The serving is huge! The service was friendly and knowledge but painfully slow! We waited for 15 minutes for the bill(and got it only after we asked for it) and another 15 to get our cards back. All and all I would highly recommend brunch. I spent $ 15 for my crêpe Benedict.

My dad brought me and his girlfriend here when they visited me. The food was Excellent other than the gnocchi being cold and not half as tasty as the appetizers. The asparagus soup was amazing and I hate asparagus. The escargot was the best I’ve ever had. After several expensive bottles of wine and laughs, the main courses came out and my dads girlfriend was decently drunk, shortly followed by myself and my father(I’m a 20 year old college kid so I can hold my sh*t). His girlfriend was very upset that the gnocchi was not up to par, and said nothing about it until the waitress asked what was wrong(she wasn’t eating). The manager came over and was DEFENSIVE as to why it was cold explaining how it was not his fault. What the f*ck? I was caught so hard off guard, I have been to fast food restaurants that have more pride and customer service. She was just virtually insulted by the manager for NOTHING is that how you conduct business? He was definitely raised in another state because there aren’t too many punks in Texas. Not knowing what to do my dad tells him in the politest manner that his girlfriend is correct but we do not expect a refund. Realizing his mistake the manager refunded the dish anyways(my dad does honestly not care about money). So that sucked. It gets worse. Upon leaving we left more than a 40% TIP. The bill was $ 450 for 3 people and my dad gave the waiter $ 200!!! for any«trouble» we may have caused. After finishing up the rest of our wine and dessert, we leave and see the hostess that seated us getting picked up by another girl. I kid you not, ass she pulled off she PUTUPHERMIDDLEFINGERTOUS when she thought we weren’t looking!!! THISISUNREAL i thought to myself. Luckily my dad and his girlfriend didn’t see because he would have caused a massive scene involving the BBB to which he is a board member of. When she realized I saw she quickly put down her finger and had a look of fear in her face as she turned onto the street. like she sh! t her pants. I still can’t believe that night, I never told my dad or his gf about the last part because it would have massively upset them. You go to restaurants like this to have a wonderful experience not a tour of Hell. The reason I gave 2 stars is because the appetizers were the best I’ve ever had. needless to say I will never be taking any Women here, especially ones who speak their opinions(all of them).
