Small restrant but looks good, verry clean. The rice was defiantly substandard in the house special fried rice. However despite this the beef lo main was fenominal and I would highly recommend it. For I only had the lo main it would be an easy five stars but because of the rice only a three is fair.

We love the food and the service. The price is right. Usually get the house special fried rice and it hasn’t failed me yet. The hot and sour soup is great too.

Nice staff, appeared clean. Very good steamed dumplings. I ordered the beef and broccoli, and the broccoli was raw. My friend got the orange chicken and it was good but the chicken was very sparse.

I just ordered for delivery: two General Tso’s, two containers of friend rice, steamed dumplings, two spring rolls, and some steamed dumplings from Lucky Chen an hour ago. Here’s what I got: one General Tso’s one fried rice container, cheese wontons, and two egg rolls. I called them to let them know that the order was messed up and the guy told me «No, you wrong. You no order two General Tso’s. I get order right!» Well my husband is hungry so I just said«Look, can I just get another General Tso’s with fried rice, please.» And now I’m just hoping that they don’t mess that up as well. The cheese wontons are stale, the General Tso’s tastes like that Dragon brand food you get in bulk from Costco. Granted, it’s not bad, but I expected General Tso’s to be spicy, not super sweet. I guess this is what you get when you order Chinese food in Lubbock. At least the food was edible and he didn’t charge me for delivery the second time around.

Driving from California to Fort Hood we decided to stay in lubbock for one night. We ordered kung pao shrimp, orange chicken, wonton cheese, chicken curry and sweet n sour chicken. Kung pao chicken was ok but they gave us so much veggies. We only had about maybe 6 semi big shrimp and the rest was veggies. I was kind of disappointed. I think they messed up on my order. I ordered orange chicken and they gave me chicken with some red sauce mixed in there. So I was thinking it might be sweet n sour chicken. But my husband ordered sweet n sour chicken and they put the red sauce on the side and chicken in a togo plate. The curry was bland too much veggies as well. But the soda we ordered was huge which was good. Other than that it ok. The delivery was ok.

Awesome. Came recommended by manager at La Quinta at Civic Center. And they deliver. We were here for one night and were tired from driving all day. So we ordered, and they brought it right to our room, even faster than they projected. The wonton soup was flavorful and contained three plump, thick wontons with meat inside. My husband said the egg drop soup was good too. My ample and delicious pork fried rice was full of roast pork and lightly sautéed onion. The spring roll was surprisingly savory. But the star of the night was the Mongolian beef. A large serving with lots of superbly tender sliced beef and sautéed veggies in a perfectly spicy sauce. My husband said if he lived here, he would be getting this often. I had some of his, and I totally agreed. We go through Lubbock occasionally, and I guarantee this is where we’ll be eating.

Pretty solid American Chinese food and CHEAP! Staff was friendly as well. I had lunch here yesterday and it was packed. I had the lunch special with General Tso’s chicken, fried rice, and hot and sour soup. I also had a side of steamed dumplings. Everything was served hot and was very tasty. It’s not far from where I work, so I will probably check it out again.

This place is the bomb. I’ve been here twice two years apart. Very small place. I have not been there at lunch but would expect it to be crowded . It’s in an old part of Lubbock but don’t let that keep you from trying the food!

I feel bad writing this because I’m sure they are good people. Quite possibly the most disgusting Chinese food I have had in my entire life. I ordered General Tso’s chicken and cashew chicken and hot and sour soup. the cashew chicken I found one piece of chicken in it. when I took a bite and it tasted like rubber I am seriously thinking it might be dog. I have never tasted a meat so disgusting. My standards are not overly high considering its Lubbock Chinese food but come on this was a waste of money $ 25 plus a delivery charge? oh my goodness. I created a Unilocal account just to make this review to warn people to not waste their money on them. The General Tso’s tasted like breading covered in sauce. I don’t not have a clue how anyone wrote a good review on them. This was not just an off night. Don’t waste your money. Sorry lucky Chen but a homeless person wouldn’t eat here

I was really excited that a friend told me about this place because I am a huge fan of Chinese food and this place is pretty authentic. You get a lot of food, the ingredients seem to be pretty high quality and it is super cheap! The only complaint I have is that the parking lot of the little shopping center where it is located is filthy, and rivals the disgusting Wal-mart parking lot that’s nearby.

In Lubbock, visiting daughter and grand-daughter. We decided to get takeout from Lucky Chen, rather than cook and take time away from the visiting, Little strip mall place near Walmart, clean, neat, and tidy with a view back into the kitchen from the register allowing one to see a very clean and neat work space. Appears to be family operation with a friendly young man taking orders and patient with my hearing difficulties. On to the food, not knock your socks off great but good and plentiful orders. Had egg rolls, sesame chicken a fried rice order fried wonton soup and a noodle dish. As said above, all good, and all plentiful, but a bad deal, all in all.

We decided to check out Lucky Chen on a whim today after DH got a craving for Chinese food. I ordered orange chicken and DH ordered szechuan beef. He liked his dish okay; not the best, definitely not the worst, and a little too strong on the hoisin flavor. I would not recommend the orange chicken unless you like ketchup. Their sauce appears to be similar or the same as many found online that can be made with ketchup and tastes nothing like orange. Not a fan. There aren’t many«Americanese» options in Lubbock so I gave them 2.5−3 stars.

I would give them four stars but they have a small menu and they charge for delivery on top of a $ 15 minimum order. The food was good enough that I ordered it again tonight(living out of town and don’t want pizza). The delivery was actually ahead of schedule. The portion size was ok; I’ve gotten used to giant portions from most Chinese take out places and these portions were not as big as most but still fair for the price. The seasoning was good too; I find most use less salt than I grew up with but this had enough. If you want some Chinese and don’t want to drive this is edible and fairly quick. Paying by CC is a pain if they’re busy because of the language barrier but they got it eventually… the second time was no sweat.

My FAVORITE Chinese restaurant in Lubbock! It’s not a very nice restaurant to eat in, but I always order takeout. I have gotten the chicken lo mein, orange chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. And ok… their cream cheese wontons… TODIEFOR!!! I get them every time. This restaurant is my weakness.

First time for us at Lucky Chen. I absolutely love the food! It has the kind of food you can’t get at all other local Chinese places(like Panda Express) — we had sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice, and sesame chicken. The girl behind the counter was very friendly too, even showed her the Unilocal app. The service was fast and all 3 dishes we ordered were very good. Another thing — the Restaraunt and the kitchen looked very clean, which is important to us. I will definitely become a regular customer there. Highly recommended. Update: Visited again on April 14, 2015, still gets 5 stars, the food was absolutely the best we’ve had in Lubbock…

Came with a fairly large group and noticed the location was a bit on the small size. We ate anyways and found out the food is not freshly made. It was more«bought from a Freezer section and served to us» kind of food. I really can’t recommend this place.

We are from out of town and ordered delivery to our hotel. It took approximately 40 minutes for delivery. I ordered the Chicken w/chinese vegetables but what I received was chicken with broccoli and a few pieces of carrot. It was very tasty and a large portion for the price but still disappointed it didn’t have all the vegetables listed on the menu. My daughter had the Shrimp Mei Fun and it was very tasty and a large portion as well. There is also a $ 4 delivery charge that was not mentioned on menu or by the person who took our order. Our 2 entrees plus delivery charge totaled $ 20.47. Overall good food at reasonable prices.

So my daughter, who goes to TT, takes me to this little take – out Chinese place in a strip center. She says, «Dad, this place has really good food, and it’s major cheap». OK, I say, lets give it a shot… While FF Chinese in LBB doesn’t really sound that great, this little place delivered… and I don’t mean to your house. The egg drop and wonton soups were both delish. Chicken chow mein just like I used to get in NY. Chicken and vegtables — yumm. We ate like two starving pigs and I believe the bill was under $ 20 for all of this. I will be back. PS… my five star rating is justified as while there is better Chinese in LBB and other cities than this… for FF Chinese in LBB, this IS as good as it gets.
