We met another couple for dinner here on a Friday night. Called ahead and they said they don’t take reservations. We sat up at the bar for just a few minutes before they sat us. Waitress was friendly and attentive. My friend had the fried chicken and said it was good. I wanted something with less calories so I ordered the broiled Orange roughy. The roughy was good but definitely not worth $ 18.95. Both of our wives had a grilled chicken sandwich because it was the only other thing not fried on the menu. I would definitely say that the Midway Duck Inn is a good place to eat, I just wished they offered more entrees on the menu that wasn’t fried. If you want good chicken and like corn fritters, this is definitely your place.

We stopped here on a weekend ride on the bike. I’m a fan. I had the chicken and she had the catfish. Both were cooked perfectly and made us feel like we were eating at our grandmothers house. The décor is very cool, and the wait staff wears camo.

We traveled to Midway Duck Inn after hearing about it from friends. It is a rustic small building that seats about 75 people. We went during the middle of summer and they had a beautiful flower garden with bird feeders right outside of the window where we were seated. We saw many colorful finches and several hummingbirds close up. The waitresses wear camouflage and I kept waiting for the Duck Dynasty dudes to come in and get a beer. Our waitress was super friendly. I had the catfish and my husband had the famous fried chicken. It was a huge, meaty catfish and very tasty. The chicken was great too, crispy and not greasy. The chicken came with a corn fritter that was just ok, it was a little too big and doughy.

This place is fantastic — the most delicious friend chicken I’ve ever tasted, and it’s very affordable. Great place for the family, and the service is pretty good. It’s a very casual(like wear your hunting gear) type of place, so just go as is!

really like the atmosphere. they have a nice bar and dining environment. bar and wait staff have always been very nice. they don’t serve duck as an entrée, but they do serve duck tenders for an appetizer & i could have eaten those all day! their fried chicken is really good and love the mashed potatoes.

We drove out to the Lowpoint area to try the chicken dinner. I have to say that we were disappointed. The chicken was very salty, the corn fritters were heavy and oily. We won’t be making the drive again. If we want chicken we will go to Kenyon’s.

mmmm… i’ve been going to the duck inn for 31 years :) they have always had the best fried chicken and even though the owners have changed and things aren’t like they used to be, i still enjoy going for the nostalgia of days gone. i think the burgers are amazing(and you can choose your own toppings), the onion tanglers are a tastier alternative to onion rings and the corn fritters are a MUST! if they don’t come with your meal, order them on their own and eat ‘em while they’re HOT! so yummy! down-home service, a tasty cocktail or beer and a beautiful view of the sun setting on the illinois river – can’t beat it!

This out of the way place is a local favorite. They have typical bar fare with great fried chicken and pot roast(two of my favorites). They have a small bar and you will find the place very cozy and always friendly patrons and staff.
