Ghastly, abysmal. This place is really awful. The best thing about the sample platter is when they take it off the table. To sum it up … Fart noise

Had dinner here tonight, with my lady along with my son and his wife. I chose this location by listening to Teddy on CAP on the radio. The food was outstanding, the service was terrible. I travel a lot which puts me out to dinner at least 10 times per month. We were greeted promptly, there were only a couple of tables occupied, once we got our appetizer, the service stopped. I finally had to get up from the table and go to the bar to request our server to come back to the table to take our order. When she did, she thought it was funny and defended herself. I was not amused. She then tried to be attentive but her service was terrible. I would be more understanding if the place was busy but it was not. Good service along with good food is the key to success. You got the food part.

Wait staff was pleasant but the food… not so much! Maybe the Chef had a bad day? Four separate luncheons were ordered and there was something wrong with each one. After airing our legitimate complaints the manager apologized and said«No charge». We will definitely not be back!

Ate here a short while ago and got food poisoning. Do not go here. Unfriendly staff as well.

Worst dining experience I have ever had. The server forgot to bring our appetizer the food came to our table cold and when I ask to speak to a manager they sent out a gentleman who had only been brought in a day or two before and it was obvious that he simply did not care about the quality of the food or the quality of the service. I would never recommend this restaurant to anybody and if I ever return to Lowell Massachusetts I will never go to that restaurant again.

«The Postman Always Rings Twice… and brings advice» We stood in front of the Athenian Corner before noon on a Friday, intimidated by the dark exterior and dim view through the window. If we opened the door would we find ourselves in a sketchy dive bar or a restaurant with no customers? But up walked the postman to deliver the mail. He looked at us with a cheerful smile and said, «it’s really good!» And it was! Ten minutes after we sat down the restaurant started to fill with customers. I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter, which included a cup of lentil soup, Greek salad, and a tasty chicken souvlaki in pita. Service was friendly and efficient and prices were fair. My father’s spanakopita was too big for him to finish, but he loved it. Perhaps the US Postal Service can edit its motto to: «Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night NORINTIMIDATINGDARKRESTAURANTDOORS stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.»

Went for Sunday lunch. Lamb chops way over broiled despite asking for«medium rare». Baked lamb was good but not overwhelming. Marinated Octopus appetizer was not fresh, with a rubbery texture. Perhaps this was an «off afternoon» for«the Corner» but we won’t be returning anytime soon :-(

I like this place because it has real Greek food cooked in the traditional manner. Is it gourmet: No. But the food has always been good, authentically Greek, the service has been good and the prices very reasonable. We enjoy it for family get togethers. It is a favorite place when we are in Lowell.

We are Greek foodies and travel to Greece annually. There was nothing Greek about the food except the names of the dishes. Too much food and not enough quality. The Greek coffee was $ 9.00 — not on the menu, of course. Appalling. Service was quite good.

Despite much anticipation. This meal was pretty dreadful. I know they have entertainment that might be worthwhile. But, on this snowy night it was five loudmouths at the bar and us at a table. We had Lamb kabobs and over cooked rice and really over cooked cabbage and tasteless stuffed grape leaves. Too bad. I had high hopes.

Considering I have an affinity for Greek food, I decided to try the Athenian corner in downtown Lowell. Let me start with it wasn’t terrible, but it can certainly use some improvement. I had the lamb shish kabob dish. The lamb was prepared as requested, but it didn’t taste like it was seasoned at all — just cooked. The lemon chicken soup was quite delicious though, but the rice was Luke warm and was kind of watery. The cabbage was too, but was delicious. The salad was very typical and was mainly yellow lettuce, one tomato wedge and two slices of cucumber. It was busy and the wait staff was scrambling to stay on top of things. They were throwing out a %41 Patriots discount, so in all. It alright. Probably would of been better on Thu — Sat because they have live entertainment. Spend you money wisely — I’ve read here that Olympia is better.

Got take out for the first time. Started with the combo greek dips yuck! The tzatziki was bland and the mashed potatoes tasted like the boxes flakes. The egg lemon soup was blah super watery and not much rice. The Greek salad and lamb had horrible dressing tasted like plain olive oil and the lamb was tough. My husband enjoyed his Arni youvetri.

Lamb was over cooked and ridiculously salty. The wait staff disappeared and the service was slow despite the restaurant being empty. Stuffed grape leaves are tiny but tasted good. Advice… Don’t waste your time. Olympia is right down the street and 10x better.

Awesome place. They have live music with belly dancing and great food. One should try the baked lamb garnish

My dad and I were looking for some authentic Greek food and boy, did we find it. We went on a Monday night and it wasn’t crowded. The waitress was so kind and the good was amazing. We split the hummus plate and grape leave appetizers and weren’t disappointed. The pita bread was warm fresh from the oven and the hummus was fresh. The grape leaves were piping and had just enough lemon. Before our meal we had the chicken egg lemon soup and Greek salad, both which came with the entrée! The soup was amazing — hot and just enough. The salad was great — the dressing was fresh and to die for when it comes to Greek dressings! When our entrée came, it was plentiful and hot! The chicken shish-kabob was incredibly moist and flavorful and the rice pilaf was topped with a secret sauce that made it to die for! The green beans were great too! Overall, the restaurant is a great family run family friendly place to get a real authentic Greek meal.

The chicken souvlaki platter was delicious. Also ordered the lentil soup which I liked. I split the appetizer sampler with a friend and didn’t care for the spinach pie. I highly enjoyed the feta, olives and their sausage(mixture of pork and lamb). The server was attentive and pleasant and the food was great. Also a bonus that they have their own parking lot!

UPDATE: January 2013 Gave it another chance. The hummus plate included an ice-cream scoop of hummus the consistency of tunafish salad served on iceberg lettuce. Chicken kabob of six large chunks of poultry was grilled nicely but bland. «Greek salad» of iceberg lettuce, a few bland tomato slices and some tasteless feta was disappointing. The Greek beers were good. If it were not for the great middle-eastern themed band and amateur belly dancers, I doubt this place would survive. Too bad since it has such great potential. I think new ownership/management is warranted.
