Its been many months since I’ve been here. I always seem to come here late night and the service and food are usually good. tonight was no exception. We ordered the 14″ «The Works» pizza. It contains pepperoni, ham, sausage, onions, green peppers, black olives, mushrooms, extra cheese and bacon. Our pizza was brought to us while it was still hot, of course. I had to fight the cheese as I tried to take the first slice from the pizza and place it on my plate. The cheese seemed to be related to that super hero that stretches incomprehensibly. I really couldn’t complain. The atmosphere has changed since my last visit. They have installed textured-metal tiles(it seems) in the ceiling, and ceiling fans. Also, they’ve cleaned and shined the walls. These changes made the place look a bit better. The night that we visited, the management had the large front-patio windows open even though it was cold outside. This made the indoor space uncomfortably cold for me. While Za’s offers really good pizza, I rarely think about eating here because there are so many good restaurants in Louisville that I try to experience as many as possible.

Absolutely delicious pizza! I wish I had more access to it, to be able to eat & enjoy as a local! I came here with a group of friends on a Friday night. The restaurant was fairly full with guests but we still received excellent service. My friend and I split the ten inch six cheese pizza & it was so delicious & the perfect amount of slices for both of us. I also loved the glass of Cabernet Sauvignon that I ordered. Perfect combination!

Za’s is tucked away in the Highland’s and often forgot about(by me), however, Za’s is one of my favorite pizza places in town. I’ve mostly had their delivery/carryout, so I can’t comment about the restaurant’s atmosphere. What I do know is that the pizza is delicious. It’s made just how I like it: lots of sauce, toppings, and cheese. All of the ingredients are fresh and tasty. My pizza has always been ready by the quoted time, and the employees are always friendly. If you’re craving a great Louisville pizza, you should definitely consider Za’s.

Good pizza — but the delivery on this beautiful day had issues. Email confirming said 90 mins, and to call with any concern. The phone was busy for 20 mins as we tried to cancel. I replied to cancel to the confirming email, and they responded that it was cancelled. 10 mins later a piping hot pizza shows up, missing the veggies we had been charged for… It was still good, but those guys owe me about $ 5 in veggies!

Definitely a cool local spot for pizza and a great beer selection! Service was a little slow if you’re trying to get in and out but a great spot to check out if you’re looking to hang out a bit! The 16″ pizza was more than enough for the 4 of us!

Service was not good, food took a long time to come out and the meatball sub was dry and not tasty at all. Would not recommend.

We went around 6:30, standard dinner time, and there were maybe 3 tables of people. It took about 4 minutes for our server to get to our table and she brought our waters quickly but forgot about the beer my girlfriend had ordered for about 8 more minutes. We ordered the cheesy bread and the pizza at the same time, the cheesy bread took about 20 minutes to come out and the pizza about 5 minutes later. For this time of day I hadn’t expected such a slow service time. Aside from the service, I’m giving a 3-star due to the overall average taste of the food. I simply wasn’t impressed and not a single bite made me want to go back. The cheesy bread was better than the pizza. We got chicken, spinach and bacon and all of the toppings were overshadowed by the abundance of cheese. I asked for garlic sauce, hoping it would give the crust some flavor, but it didn’t taste like anything at all. Not butter, not garlic, just oil. Overall I really do not think I’ll be going back simply due to the bland ingredients and the lack of a «wow» factor during the meal.

Za’s may not have the absolute best pizza around, but that’s more because there are like 3,000 pizza restaurants on Bardstown Road. What it does have is very good pizza(heavy on the cheese and toppings) plus excellent calzones. And a consistently outstanding beer list(had a Bell’s Hopslam and a Schlafly Tasmanian IPA on draft last visit, and the bottle list is also superb). It’s also got a cozy, lived-in vibe, with wood paneled walls and a big room with a pool table in the back. On warm days, they open up the windows and you can people-watch on Bardstown Rd. You won’t be left wanting for much else.

Za’s is right down the street from where we live so convenience is a big factor, especially given that we can walk up there in the snow! Last night, Za’s was extremely busy, despite the snow and cold weather, but the experience was great even though they were packed. We enjoyed the great list of craft beer. Last night, my choices were Bells Hopslam and Schlafly Tasmanian IPA — both great beers to have on draft. We usually get the regular crust pizza which is good but can bit a bit heavy. Last night, however, my husband and I got a 12 inch thin crust Aloha and it was a nice change from our regular pizza choice there. The barbeque sauce, pineapples and ham were a great combination, and we ate the entire pizza without feeling like we needed to lay down after. You can also play pool in the back if you’re into to that. Overall, this is a great neighborhood pizza place. It can take awhile to get your pizza, so don’t go there if you’re in a rush. But on a snowy night with nowhere to be, beer and pizza hit the spot. Thanks Za’s for being open!

Pretty solid all the way around. The chesse bread was better than expected. Prices are fair.

This pizza was all like, «Let me get in yo’ belly, dog.» And I was all like, «But I don’t have very much money.» And the pizza was like, «You got friends with you. Split me.» And then I was all like, «Good idea.» And then I said to my friends, «We need to eat Za’s Pizza.» And they were all like, «Fo’ real?» And then I was all like, «Fo’ real.» And then we were all like, *nom* *nom* *nom*. And it was good.

Consistently good pizza, service has it’s up and downs, but the food is always good. If you’re lucky enough to see a table outside I recommend you grab it. A few years ago they served me a wonderful meal during a power outage with candles and flashlights. It made for one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had and it displays just how far they will go to try to make customers happy. Beer selection is great and it’s a wonderful place to grab a bite and meet up with friends. I only wish I lived closer.

Went last week with a large group for a business lunch and got to sample several distinct pizzas. The Mexican was tasty take on a beef taco pizza. The green onions were a nice touch on top of the pie. The buffalo BBQ pizza was a surprise to me as I would have never ordered it myself — thinking it just wasn’t a good idea to combine the two — WOW! Flavor-packed — loved it. The Big Wick I’ve had before and it’s a standard classic to me — LOVE it. Service was efficient and friendly. We got in and out in no time. Parking was a bit of a chore but well worth the short walk from the car to the place.

Ordered the Works 16inch with no/olives! Was a hell of a pizza and was just as good leftover for dinner tonight! Very much recommend Za’s to everyone! They also have a very good selection of imported beers which is a must for me. Good Belgium selection as well as others. Wish they has more outdoor seating but you do what you can with the space you have!

I’m disappointed to say that the excessive wait time for pizza is not dependent on the number of people in the store. We waited nearly an hour for a house pizza with one table out the door and one table behind us. The beer and relaxed vibe allows for tolerability. However, the quality of the pizza and the wait time work against this pizza pub. I’m looking forward to discovering a new pizza place with a more reliable wait time.

Good location, nice atmosphere. Our order though, on our visit yesterday, took a ruh-diculous amount of time to come out. it tasted good, but the length of time we waiting for the food was problematic. I had somewhere to be at a specific time. Thankfully I was with some friends who were able to cover my check because I had to head out.

We were spending the day going from brewery to brewery, and when we hit up Cumberland across the street, we knew it was time to take a break and fill up on some carbs. Other bar patrons confirmed that the pizza across the street at Za’s was really good, so this was where we decided to go. The pizza was excellent — pub style pizza, but with fresh toppings(i.e. not canned mushrooms), good sauce, and the right amount of cheese. The beer list was also really good here, though we each only had one as this was supposed to be a point of moderation on our beer day. When I walked down the hallway to find the bathroom, I also found that there’s a whole back room here that’s full of pool tables!

I’ve only been twice. I forgot what I ordered the first time(some type of pizza with spinach), but it was good. Great location(parking might be tricky as with many places on Bardstown) but if you’re around and about anyway, perfect. Good selection of beer. The cheese pizza I ordered as takeout by the slice was good too. Pretty good prices too! The toppings aren’t loaded heavy like Wick’s but I like it. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends.
