Hole in the wall that is the opposite of pretentious. Had the Cuban sandwich and plantains. Good food all around but nothing groundbreaking. Would eat there again for sure though.

I visited Yoli’s for the first time on a Friday evening for take-out. There’s nothing fancy about the restaurant, but the food was delicious! We tried the chicken and pork, as well as white rice, congris, garbanzo beans, black beans, and fried plantains. Very much what I’d think of as «home-style» Cuban food. For a very reasonable price we had a huge dinner for two, plus enough leftovers for two lunches at work this week. I hope that the neighborhood will continue to support this wonderful addition to our community; we’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I went here on a whim, but I am so glad we did! Amazing Cuban food, great staff, and very reasonable prices for the huge portions. We haven’t tried their breakfast yet, but it is definitely on our list now.

Simply delicious. Classic homestyle Cuban cooking at its best. The no-frills restaurant serves up heaping portions of well made, well priced and well flavored food. It is cafeteria style, the food is on a steam tray and you can see the options of food even if you can’t read the Spanish menu of the day on the chalkboard. English is spoken though so no worries about service, this is a family business and there is obvious pride in their cooking. The ropa vieja(shredded beef) was juicy, tender and had just the right amount of seasonings, onions and bell peppers. The congris(black beans and rice) was similarly flavorful and the beans were cooked just right, not over or under. As a side but almost as a dessert, the maduros(cooked sweet ripe plantains) rounded out the $ 10 meal. Definitely good bang for the buck. There is street parking and also lot parking behind the building. There is a small sign but basically look for the cafeteria on the south side of Woodlawn just next to the small convenience store on the corner at Southern Parkway. Not fancy on the inside, décor is minimal, but it is clean and spacious enough for groups.

I’ve had dinner here before(plentiful & delicious) but decided to try their breakfast this weekend Scrambled eggs with bacon, fried potatoes and a tostada. We added a chicken empanada & a cheese and guava empanada. The chicken empanada was savory and flavorful. The guava reminded me pleasantly of sweetened rhubarb. I admit, I’m not always a guava fan but these are fantastic. And the café cubano? Strong and dark and flavorful. I’m so happy for this addition to the Beechmont neighborhood!

Just went to Yoli’s Cuban Cafeteria across from Beechmont Bombshells and was blown away! My wife and I loaded up and tried as much as our belt lines would allow and wasn’t disappointed. Ropa Vieja Plantains Cuban Soup Yucca Con gris Black beans and rice(super flavorful beans) Dulce. Definitely enough for 2 – 3 meals and was only $ 16.50 before tip. I have no problem saying that it’s better than Havana Rumba. Everything was fresh and no hint of the food sitting under a heat lamp for hours…
