I don’t know what is going on at this location, but the past several times we have visited have been challenging. Little details like forgetting the cheese on the burger can be overlooked, but the main challenge is there simply isn’t enough staff there to operate this busy restaurant. The pass is the shelf in between the kitchen and the dining room where food is sat for the server to pick up and bring to the table. We sat there and witnessed our food dying in the pass. It sat there for over 5 minutes and when we finally got it the burgers were cold, and the little match stick fries were inedible. The side salad was forgotten and brought after the hamburger. The lettuce on the side salad and the hamburger was both brown and looked like past its prime. I don’t know what is going on at this place but several tables that were seated after us got their food long before we did… it appears that there is no cooperation between the wait staff a good server will see food in the pass and take it to their partner’s table before it sits up there and goes cold. When we complained to the manager no offer was made to remake the food… instead he brought us a cold piece of cheese to put on our cold burgers. We went to the register and paid no apologies from the same manager… just took our payment as if everything was ok. I think our long relationship with Steak ‘n Shake is over.

If I could rate lower, I would. Absolutely horrible service! Waitress took nearly ten minutes to approach us for our drink order, when we said we were ready to order our meal she acted completely shocked and like that was too much for her to handle. After waiting 20 minutes, she came back to the table and said she lost our order sheet and needed to take our order AGAIN. Never once apologized or tried to rectify the situation. Didn’t give us silverware. Requested silver wear, she still didn’t bring it. The manager came by and asked how everything was & we asked him for silver wear at which point he brought a fork when I needed a knife. We never got refills. The waitress didn’t even come back to check on us period. She even asked the table right behind us and didn’t say one word to us! It was absolutely awful and really makes us not want to return. P. S. The food was actually good so props to the chef!

Horrible drive thru service! Waited for 20+ minutes to get our food. It was cold and we were missing part of our order!!! Don’t waste your time!

I love Steak n’ Shake! Their burgers are pretty good, milkshakes are delicious, and their cheese fries are great. Steak n’ Shake probably has the best chili in the world! I do wish they would bulldoze this location. Their drive-thru service is probably the worst of any establishment I’ve ever visited in 41 years of living. You can usually expect lengthy… I REPEAT lengthy waits at this drive-thru. What’s more disappointing is the last two times I have made a special trip there for dinner for my family the drive-thru has been CLOSED. Who has a drive-thru at a major chain, but routinely closes it? Have you ever went to Wendy’s or McDonald’s to discover their drive-thru is closed?!? No, you haven’t! Instead of closing your drive-thru why don’t you close the business down and give another franchise a chance at that location. Their food is delicious, but the service at this location is terrible. I should have zero expectations when I go to this specific Steak n’ Shake so I won’t always leave disappointed with the bad service and lack of concern for the customer.

You know out of all the waitresses that work there, there are only 2 that have done amazing jobs. The steak and shake staff need to be more like them, every time we go there, there may have been something wrong, but they fix it within seconds. They are great waitresses. And when something is messed up real bad, they give us a discount or 2 free shakes or one free. Keep it up girls. I’ll get yalls names soon and put them on here so more people will request yall, and get more tips because yall deserve it. 5 stars to the two waitresses, but maybe a 2 star rating for the rest.

I waited in the drive thru for 15 minutes before I got to the speaker and when I finally reached the speaker the man said ‘can you please hold’. I sat there for an additional 5+ minutes before pulling off. The drive thru has a clear view of the disgusting dumpster that had trash plastered to the pavement in front of it(the trash had been there a long time) and scattered as far as 10 feet in front of it. Two employees walked by all of it on their smoke break(didn’t even look twice at the mess) so they could go behind the dumpster and ‘smoke’. None of this was a good look on the restaurant. How they pass health inspections that way is beyond me.

After five minutes, we walked out. No one acknowledged our presence. It has health department score in the 80s. The staff looked liked the could not be bothered with us. Sad.

Good food. Absolutely worst service. Long wait to be seated, longer wait for waiter to take order, long wait for food, even a long wait to pay check once you get a check. Three people in our party. Other locations have good food and good service.

Great inexpensive place for a group of kids. Poor service at this site, waitress left to smoke while we waited for silverware, drink refills etc

Visiting steak n shake with pops and brother. The drive through lady has a bit of an attitude. The line wasn’t long, hopefully the food will be good and hot. I expect hot food. Why would you serve customers cold food? They are in the window talking and giggling. They get good business during happy hour. But who wouldn’t come for half priced shakes? A salted caramel pretzel is my go to fix even if the food isn’t that good.

I like going to Steak-N-Shake for nostalgic reasons. We don’t go. Whole lot because the service is never good. We went last Saturday and we served by Croya and she was awesome! She was fast, polite and very friendly! We will definitely be going back because of her.

This last experience would have been a one star review, if not for the manager’s quick, efficient service! I entered the drive through lane at 1:30AM on my way home from work… I know… NOT the time to expect stellar service, but I was on my way home from work and, at this hour, my choices were Steak N Shake or McDonald’s… So I ordered a double steakburger & fries… I pull around, the man working the drive through window takes my money and asks me to pull around to the front, even though there are no cars behind me… OK. I pull behind another car(I assume he’s there for the same reason… HE’s NOT…) and turn off my engine. A few minutes later, a man walks out to the car in front of me with a multi cup holder, gets into the passenger seat and they drive off! I then realize he wasn’t in front of me in the drive through lane… I check my phone against my receipt and realize it’s been almost 10 minutes since I paid for my food… So I wait until it’s actually been 10 minutes, start my car, pull into a spot, park, and walk in. The manager, an African-American female(I’m really sorry I didn’t get her name…) greets me at the door and asks if she can help me. I told her I’d paid for my food over 10 minutes ago and the guy at the drive through told me to pull around…(I was more rude than I meant to be; but it was almost 2AM, they didn’t feed us at work like they were supposed to, and I was cranky). She asked if I ordered a milkshake. I told her I hadn’t and showed her my receipt. She said, «Oh» and immediately walked behind the line and put my order together quickly and, more important, ACCURATELY(which has almost NEVER happened at this location). She returned to me, my order in hand, repeated my order back to me, and apologized that they were understaffed. I thanked her and left. I’m very sorry I didn’t learn her name, 1:40ish, 9÷20÷13. This manager EXEMPLIFIESCUSTOMERSERVICE and should be commended for her efforts. I have been a restaurant manager for 5 years and have more than 16 years experience in restaurants and she is top notch! PLEASE, Steak N Shake, ACKNOWLEDGE this asset to your company!!!

I’m from Southern California. We have Taco De Mexicos. We have Sushi places on every corner. We have AYCE Korean BBQ Places for $ 10. But what we don’t have. is Steak N Shakes. And that is a DAMNSHAME. I love Steak N Shake. Yes, I know its not the fanciest place around. I know its comparable to someplace like Denny’s. but the deals are really great here. I LOVE the Chili Mac. Since we don’t have anything like this at home, I’ve tried to mimic the flavor doing my own Chili Mac but obviously. theres no way to compare. The Baked Beans are really good. The fact that this place has a drive through makes it 100x better. Sigh. Until we meet again, Steak N Shake.
