Service– 5 stars(fantastic!) Food– 3 stars(mediocre) We are from Lexington and decided to spend the evening in Louisville for our one year anniversary. We chose this restaurant based on elite reviews. The weather was phenomenal so we decided to sit outdoors on the patio. Unfortunately we ended up at the table closest to the road(lots of joggers and loud Cars close to us) but that’s okay. Our server was very attentive and never too far away. She gave us great opinions on menu items without being overbearing. Service– 5 stars. For drinks we tried the sangria and the ghost writer. Both were great. Sangria was perfect amount of sweet. The ghost had jalapeño and basil infused jim beam… The hubby really enjoyed it. We started with oyster shooters, spicy chicken empanadas and southwestern tortilla soup. My favorite of the three was the soup. It was spicy with just the right amount of kick. The empanadas were second, as the chimichurri sauce was lackluster. My least favorite was the oyster shooters. The cocktail sauce was too overpowering. For main entrees I tried the California tri tip(sliced steak on a bed of French fries sautéed with peppers and garlic) and my husband ordered the halibut with crab«cigar». My steak was flavorful… But there were only 4 slices of meat. The fries were ok, nothing special. Overall I just didn’t get a «wow» factor for a 30 $ dish. My husband felt the same way about his dish. It was good, but not great. His halibut was slightly overdone. The crab cigar, which is essentially a giant crab egg roll, missed the mark as you really couldn’t taste the crab. For dessert we tried the Tres Leches and the Avocado ice cream. I am a big dessert person and wasn’t impressed by either. The Tres Leches was rather dry and tasted like plain pound cake. The ice cream on top was the best part. The avocado ice cream was interesting. It wasn’t very creamy or sweet. Overall, the atmosphere and service here are great. It was nice sitting on the patio. The appetizers and drinks were very good. I was not impressed by dinner or dessert.

What can I say. This is one of the best meals I’ve had in Louisville. Top notch, fairly priced and tasty. The mushroom enchiladas with black truffles were stunning. Sunday has half price wines and the service has always been excellent. Add to that a lovely open space and it’s magic.

I am in no way, shape, or form exaggerating when I say that Seviche has THEBESTFOOD I HAVEEVEREATENINMYENTIRELIFE. My husband agreed as well. We made reservations and got right in. We were seated at a 2 person table near the window with a cute little tea light. We started with the Kentucky Bison Empanadas($ 13) and Wild Caught Shrimp Seviche($ 15). Both were absolutely delicious. My husband had the Fideo($ 35). It was a pasta dish with sea scallops, country ham, butternut squash, & pine nuts. He normally doesn’t order pasta, but was very happy he did. The combination of the sea scallops with country ham was a real joy. I had the Forest Mushroom Enchiladas($ 23). AMAZING! A mixture of earthy mushrooms with black truffle crema, poblanos, & Chihuahua cheese. This is the type of dish that would leave even the most devout carnivore totally satisfied. My husband also enjoyed a tasty local beer(unsure of the name) and I had a house bloody Mary. Just as everything else, it was quite good with an assortment of pickled veggies on top. A little spicy, just the way they should be. This place is a bit pricey, but worth every single cent. Take your significant other… DOITNOW!!!

All I can say is I try. I live within walking distance and frequent all of the Bardstown restaurants. This place charges $ 47 for a freakin rib eye and I can’t even get the staff’s attention. Nothing has changed since the last time I was there. Bartender is OBLIVIOUS to his surroundings and his service is one that Applebees would appreciate. Out of your mind for the prices you charge SEVICHE. The chef probably thinks it s worth it — and maybe the tourists — but get a grip! Your food ain’t all that. Pass it by folks– plenty of places to eat on Bardstown and in Louisville. $ 47 — you better be kissin my a** when I walk in and wiping my mouth after each bite.

An absolutely perfect experience on a Saturday night. Staff was warm and friendly. We were seating right on time. Our waitress knew everything there was to know about options and had perfect wine suggestions. I had the Tuna(incredible). My companions had the Chimmichurri Steak and the Halibut. Let me say, when we go out to eat, we eat at the finest places we can and this place could use more than 5 stars. The Tres Leches was outstanding as well as the after dinner coffees. I will be back every time I come to Louisville. Thank you Chef! Heard!

Boyfriend took me here for our 1 year anniversary and was one of the best meals I have ever ate. Everything was portioned perfect, fresh and wonderful flavor without over doing it. Nice atmosphere with great service. Plus it’s in the highlands, so shopping and grabbing a coffee or drink is convenient after dinner !!

Simply the best. That’s all I have to say. I’ve been several times and each time is a new culinary roller coaster. I just love everything. I always start off with the guacamole made table side, while I’m enjoying one of their amazing cocktails. Anything and I mean anything on the menu is fantastic. So exciting to go back soon

I ate their today with a party of 9. Service was excellent. Appetizer delicious. Wine terrific, we had a cab and a Pinot. Appetizers, wow ordering them and wine can make for a nice meal. We ordered almost every appetizer and all delicious. Try them all! Dinner was wonderful. Our party ordered lamb, delicious. Tuna — wonderful, skirt steak-sauce and steak awesome, pollo– good too. Oh and we shared so I tasted everything. Desserts are awesome but they are small servings. We had the flan, avocado ice cream, chocolate cake, carrot cake, all good but small servings. It was a very nice dinner with nice service and great atmosphere. I will be back.

This is my hands down favorite restaurant in Louisville. I just love this place! You can’t go wrong if you ask to sit in Daylin’s section, but everyone here is top notch. I consider myself a regular and well versed in the majority of the menu. I am allergic to shellfish, so I can’t comment on that aspect, but my wife eats shellfish here regularly and raves about it. I have had several fish dishes and they are always on point. Cocktails are always slammin’!!! I love the Cadillac margarita, the Lovely Rita(jalapeño margarita) and the mojitos! Always fresh and perfect. Staff is always awesome and obviously well trained. If we can’t have Daylin, I’m happy to sit anywhere because I know we will have great service. I’ve been here dozens of times and I love the nightly specials, but the mainstays are always delicious too. My fall back dish is the flank steak chimichurri. It’s so damn good! I almost always try to get a special though, but if they have the ribeye– GETIT !!! Expensive? Yes. But it is worth it. Local, fresh and incredible. Seriously, get it. I’ve dressed up and dressed down. Everyone is welcome and everything is delicious. If you’re lucky, chef Lamas will come and shake your hand! So, we’ve eaten in some great places all over the USA(NYC, SF, LA, New Orleans and in between)…this is my most favorite restaurant in the United States. UPDATE!!! I bought a cookbook and Chef Lamas came out and sat at my table to talk and signed my book! I almost died! Luckily, I didn’t, but I was soooo excited! We talked about his appearances on Bar Rescue and his book. The book is awesome and the recipes are things that I can make at home. He is so nice and apparently he has magic chef hands because everything I eat here is amazing.

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and I’m not exaggerating. My steak was perfectly cooked and the mussels appetizer had broth that we both just wanted to drink. The service was also impeccable. We felt very well taken care of. The tuna seviche was equally delicious, but I couldn’t have more than a bite because I have a sesame allergy and I didn’t know it had sesame oil in it. Luckily, our server went above and beyond and found a staff member who had Benadryl, and all was right with the world. This place isn’t cheap, but it’s 100% worth the price. I’ll definitely be coming back for more special occasions.

One of my first dining experiences since moving to Louisville and it happens to be one of the best. Great food, service and atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing flavors! This is a must go to restaurant for any«foodie.» I live 75 miles away and will make the trip again to try other dishes. The calamari appetizer is one of the highest quality calamari that I have ever sampled. All dishes at our table were top notch and varied in spice and flavor. Also… Try the avocado dessert! It is good(only when compared to the rest of the meal) but must be experienced for its creativity!

Honestly, I am not sure where to begin with this review because everything was off the charts good. However, I will start with the pleasant wait staff and atmosphere. The ambiance is slightly romantic in Seviche, but you could easily come here with some girlfriends for a birthday or just to have some fun cocktails. Dim lighting and fun music(Fleetwood Mac remixes played while we ate) made the night magical. The cocktails were great and strong. Nothing short of impressive with the drink I had, The Oblivion. The mixture of rudy red vodka and pineapple created a sweet taste without being overly sugary. I was informed by our waitress to make sure to eat the cherry at the bottom of the drink as it is delicious. She was right. It was not your typical maraschino cherry but had almost a black cherry taste to it. Nick and I opted to try the duck nachos which were the night’s special for our appetizer. I am thrilled we went with those as opposed to the guacamole. The nachos are fulfilling and had a bit of a spice to them. Instead of your typically tortilla chips, the«nachos» are pita chips. The two of us were surprised at the serving size of the appetizer. We also joked around that we should have just ordered two of the nachos because it was extremely tasty. The duck meat was not tough or chewy but just the perfect texture and cooked right. For my entrée, I decided on the Roasted Vegetable Chimichanga. Again, I was delightfully surprised at the portion size. I had more than enough Chimiichanga to give Nick several bites and took half of it home with me. The mixture of roasted fall vegetables and melted cheese in the perfect toasted chimichanga was an excellent meal for a windy, rainy evening. I honestly think it was better than any soup you might be craving on a cold day. Everything about his chimichanga was perfect. Not to mention to the presentation of the meal was a work of art. Finally, Nick and I decided to share a dessert. We picked the warm, flourless chocolate torte. Again, the portion size would have been enough for 4 adults to share instead of 2. However, we had no problem splitting the dessert between the two of us. The peanut butter mousse and warm coffee peanut crumble in the center of the torte was heaven on a fork. I swear I have been having dreams about that torte since I tried it Friday evening. Everything about our dining experience at Seviche was perfect. The atmosphere, portion sizes for the amount you pay(92 $ without tip for the 2 of us to eat), staff friendliness(the manager constantly checked on everyone and even brought us our food at one point) and food itself was as good as it gets. I highly suggest everyone try this place at least once. I know that Nick and I will be back.

Thank you the client that recommended this to us — I was kind of skeptical when recommended«latin» food in Louisville, but this was a winner. The group started with the duck nachos, which came«Qdoba takeout style» — a bowl of melted cheese and toppings, along side a pile of chips. So much less messy! And convenient, since these were so crazy good that we were literally pouring the last drops of cheese out of that bowl by the end. The duck was very rich and tender, the cheese nice and spicy, and some good veggies mixed in as well. I think these were on the specials menu, but hopefully they’re a frequent item — worth ordering if you see them. I had to try some ceviche at a place called Seviche, and when I spotted one that featured yuzu, I was hooked. Turned out to be a great choice — the Wahoo Tiradito had really nice firm fish on little cubes of watermelon with chile flakes and lots of nice citrus flavor. Really enjoyed this, and it was presented in fun little towers so you got a little of each flavor with each bite. For the entrée, I couldn’t turn down the skirt, which is apparently the signature dish. The meat was tender, nicely seasoned, and came with a chimichurri that was out of sight. Very heavy on the citrus, which is exactly my style — we definitely requested extra cups of this, because we could not get enough. Also a nice helping of mashed potatoes and some steamed veggies alongside — a nice presentation and a very tasty dish. Three of us ordered it, and no one was disappointed. We finished with the flan. I hold all flan to the New Rebozo standard — that stuff is like eating silk, and Seviche’s was pretty close, with good flavor. Certainly nothing to scoff at. The accompanying ice cream and chile nut brittle was awesome as well. Service was friendly and accommodating of a couple special requests — the right level of attention, honestly, since it was a decent size group that was pretty absorbed in itself. I see a couple reviews that say portions are small. I guess I have to disagree. This isn’t an american gluttony festival? But my appetizer was i think 6 ceviche«helpings» and the steak and mashed potatoes definitely did not leave me hungry. I wasn’t sick when I left, I didn’t have to be rolled out of the room, but by no means did I ever think that portions were small or that I wasn’t getting what I was paying for. I don’t know if it’s maybe a bit pricey for Louisville, so maybe my Chicago price-sense is kicking in here. But all pricing aside… the portions weren’t unreasonably small. If you want to argue value for dollar, that’s something we can do, but I have to disagree with arguing absolute size. Everything considered, I would not hesitate to return or to recommend this to anyone else visiting the area, even if it doesn’t seem like the right«genre» for Louisville.

The food tastes excellent — I would give the food 5 stars based on flavor. What isn’t 5 stars is paying a high price for the tiny, minuscule portions they serve. I certainly don’t mind spending a lot on a nice dinner. I also don’t mind when restaurants serve you«normal» sized portions(i.e. not massive, overflowing plates). That being said, Seviche’s portions were much smaller than«normal.» We fully expected to pay over $ 100 for a dinner for two. We also expected to receive an adequate amount of food. We were literally shocked when our plates were presented. We started off with the shrimp appetizer. They were served chilled and the flavor was good. $ 15 for 5 regular sized shrimp. Hmm… We were a little disappointed in the size, but it(erroneously) didn’t lead us to assume that the entrees would be tremendously undersized. We ordered the swordfish and the salmon for our main courses. The food came out quickly, and when it was placed on our table, I was completely taken aback by the tiny amount of food on a plate for which I just paid $ 35(x2). There’s no way there was more than 3 or 4 ounces of meat on each plate. Not a chance. If you took a deck of cards and cut it in half lengthwise — one half is the size of the salmon. The swordfish was served in three bite sized pieces(odd). I’m not exaggerating when I say our plates were empty in about a minute… Before she had time to come back and ask how everything tasted. Even if you doubled the portion we were served, I would have still considered it a small portion. I’m fine with dining at a restaurant where I leave feeling satisfied, not full but not hungry. Never have I left a restaurant still hungry until Seviche. We had to stop by a bar and order some nachos before continuing our night. It’s a shame because the food tasted wonderful. I would have loved to have more of it to eat. Yes, the prices are labeled on the menu. What you’ll notice isn’t labeled is the weight of the meat. Most places describe this in the details of the dish(i.e. 8 ounce filet). Seviche doesn’t do this, so be prepared: You will be paying a high price for a much smaller amount of meat than I’ve seen served anywhere. I know the chef is world famous and talented. This shows in the flavor of the food. But for me, it doesn’t matter how good the food is, charging that much for such a small amount of food doesn’t fly. That’s my two cents. It’s worth a try, but adjust your expectations accordingly. I’m glad I tried it, but I certainly won’t be back.

Seviche is one of the best restaurants in Louisville. The Chef and owner, Anthony Lamas, is highly talented and creative with his cuisine. The food is always fresh and delicious. Lamas and his staff use very inventive flavors and put foods together that you will love, even though it may seem too complicated. Oh, and you MUST try the veggie chimichanga! So good! They use kenny’s gouda cheese and some fresh butternut squash and so many other tasty things. I don’t want to give too much away info about this dish. :) The cocktails are yummy too. I enjoy going up to Seviche for a drink and some of their amazing guacamole! Best guacamole in town. Their patio is nice as well. It’s a fun spot to watch passerby and still enjoy dinner. For chilly evenings they have heaters to keep you from getting too cold. The service staff is always friendly and accommodating to your needs and requests. If you are the type that doesn’t like to deal with street parking, they have valet parking for a reasonable $ 5.

I didn’t get to experience the menu as much as I liked(we were having two dinners that night), but what I had was phenomenal. The Bison Empanadas were killer with the combination of flaky pastry, well-seasoned ground bison, and avocado jalapeño purée. The Tuna Old Fashioned Ceviche was ADDICTIVE. I could have drunk the pineapple-orange-bourbon-soy sauce with a straw! The presentation award went to the Line Caught Bigeye Tuna Ceviche, because that dish came in an actual coconut. I would order all three dishes again in a heartbeat. Reading the other reviews, I know I need to try the mussels and sea scallops. I will definitely be back again with fork in hand!

My favorite restaurant anywhere! I can’t say more than you just have to eat here to know how good it is. Beautiful restaurant, awesome atmosphere, strong but delicious drinks, fantastic and creative Latin inspired food. Been coming at least the last 4 years and I don’t plan on stopping. You must come here!!!
