We enjoyed our first experience there this past Friday. It was a date night and we had reservations for 6:30. The table was ready upon our arrival. The staff was über friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the«Potstickers» and the«Panini». The Potstickers were wonderful!!! The Panini was good but not as good as my wife’s Goat Cheese Ravioli!!! Would have preferred it! They just by chance had a Vegetarian Lentil Chili that night that was on special that was fantastic. All in all we had a very nice enjoyable date night and will certainly return!!!

My husband surprised me and took me to Relish for my birthday. He had looked at the online reviews and it sounded great. We were both disappointed. I think the problem was that we ordered 3 of the ‘chef’s specials’. VERYDISAPPOINTING!!! None of them were good. The only decent food the the filet my wife ordered from the large plate menu. It was fabulous!!! Small restaurant. Tables tight. Backsides of waiters in our space. High priced. Won’t be going back

went for lunch… great options for a work or friend lunch. smaller dining room so go early or make reservations. cobb salad was great and salmon was phenomenal. creative menu. portions aren’t too big so go for a lighter lunch.

I admit I have not fully experienced Relish. I have only picked up to-go orders and have not dined in. But my limited time at Relish was enough to thoroughly impress me. First of all, the food. Their sea salt, black pepper and scallion biscuits are my absolute favorite along with their sweet and salty cookies. I ordered their chicken salad sandwich on my last trip and it was flavorful. I’ll get that again. But the thing that put me over the top was the customer service. The woman at the register was so friendly and prompt in helping me. And while I waited for my sandwich — which didn’t take long at all — she offered me a bit of one of their meringue cookies to try for free. If their dine-in service is half as good as what I had while taking out, they’ll have a fan for life.

4.5. Note: My review is only for lunch. Also, I’m new to Louisville so my rating may change once I get a chance to try other lunch restaurants in the area. I’ve been here twice, once with a small group of 3 and once with a larger group of 9. Both times were great. I love the emphasis on healthy ingredients. The atmosphere and décor are very clean, modern and bright. There aren’t that many tables so be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. The service is very good– polite, helpful, quick, attentive, etc. For food, I had the«naan burger» and roasted sweet potato and fontina sandwich as my entrees during each of my visits and the red quinoa salad both times as a side. The naan burger was delicious, though the naan wasn’t authentic Indian naan. It came with avocado and interesting sauces. The sweet potato sandwich came on cranberry bread and was amazing. The prices are also very fair for the quality of food.

Make sure you have a reservation! This is a very hot lunch spot, and for good reason. I’ve tried the grilled apple and rocket salad and the roasted sweet potato and fontina sandwich. I would order them both again, but what caught my eye from the moment I entered the eatery and keeps bringing me back are the desserts! Cookies, lemon pound cake, mmm! So, if your sweet tooth is severe as mine, here’s what I recommend: Go for a salad or a cup of soup and a side for your entrée and save your calories for a treat from the dessert case and a delicious cup of coffee. Aside from the food, there are two other great features to note — the design and the service. Nestled between a liquor store and a marina, you’re not really expecting to see a sleekly modern place with a living wall and beautiful drum lights. Even the coffee cups and accompanying saucers are striking. The service is also top notch. From the hostess to the bussers, everyone is knowledgeable, kind, soft spoken and very attentive. The entire atmosphere leaves me completely relaxed and at ease.

First off — RUN — You MUST get their chive, sea salt, & cracked black pepper ginormous biscuit! BEST ever. I know, you are thinking: Of everything on the menu that looks amazing, this is not even on the menu and you are telling me to run over there so I can get one of these before they are sold out and I am out of luck until they have the whim to make them again?! YES, yes I am. I am still thinking about this biscuit. And it has been 6 hours, 32 minutes, and 17 seconds. So yeah, I’m still thinking about it. Oh and the coconut dark chocolate macroon. Mmmmm! I ordered the Turkey sandwich which was tasty and the tom-kha soup.(I couldn’t decide between the turkey or the burger so next will be the burger!) I will be back!(And I didn’t give 5 stars b/c it makes me mad when I get a soup container that is only ½ full. And it was the tiny to go container. Seriously?! Fill that sucker up! and because the turkey was a little dry which I was not expecting after the description from the girl at the counter. I went when they opened so maybe I got yesterday’s turkey — it always dries out overnight.) PS — it is conveniently located near the Big 4 Bridge!

Relish is top-notch. You say there’s a new restaurant with an emphasis on health, simplicity and quality ingredients? I’m there! While I was excited to try this place out since it seemed up my alley as far as a refreshing lunch spot goes, I also knew there was a good chance for disappointment a la the folly of many restaurants that aim for the stars in regards to health and fine ingredients: small portions and high prices. Do you also have this concerns? Well, you won’t be disappointed by what Relish had to offer. I had the Tom Kha soup and the Pressed Ropa Vieja which is a cuban roll with brisket and manchego. I was delighted to see that the soup came with the sandwich and the cost was only $ 10. Even more impressive was the warmth and buttery richness of the sandwich. At a place that also features a quinoa salad on the menu, sometimes you might worry if you’re a little bit more famished that you might not be able to get something that’s really savory and filling. Not the case here! The Tom Kha is something I will come back for the full meal size as takeout sometime. That’s the thing about this place: they serve lunch till 4 and then after that you can get some of their dishes as take-out. In every regard possible, this restaurant reminds me of a combination of Roots, Ghyslain and maybe there’s a third piece I’m missing… must go back soon to figure it out. Walking in for lunch on a weekday and being the only people under 40 or maybe even 50, I initially felt a little out of place but after being seated I felt very welcomed. The service was actually some of the best I’ve ever had — ever. Our server was very upbeat, friendly and it was clear she wanted us to have the best experience possible. She was firm in her recommendations and didn’t pull that wishy-washy, «well everything’s good» statement that’s so easy to fall back on. The Tom Kha I ordered was all because of her and now I’ve found a delicious soup I’ll probably be stocking up on every opportunity I get.

Went here for lunch this past Tuesday. Staff was exceptional, great décor, and most of all, excellent food and drink. I had a turkey sandwich with roasted red peppers and lentil chili. The chili was excellent, a nice blend of flavors. My sandwich bread was exquisite and the contents were not overwhelming. My friends raved about the wine selection, particularly the South African red. For dessert, we shared the cookie plate and the apple crisp. I really enjoyed the apple crisp. An excellent option to counter the soup and sandwich. Restaurant is a nice spot to have lunch along the river, with a very friendly atmosphere. Definite recommendation.
