Eh, there are many better sushi places. The sushi is okay, the décor is dark and depressing. The service is so so. It is pretty much exactly what you would expect from a sushi place on Preston Highway.

Love Oasis! Very close to my house and all rolls are very good. Place is a total dive but it adds to the atmosphere. Don’t judge this book by its cover. Prices are what you would expect and refills aren’t free.

My daughter and I went tonight to use a Living Social deal. I’ve been there three times now and it has consistently been delicious. There were only one group of customers when we arrived around 7 pm which seems to be the norm. We ordered the Lobster Paradise, The volcano roll and my daughter insists on a yum yum roll no matter where we go. The smokiness of the volcano roll was divine and the sweetness of the lobster paradise roll was excellent. We’ve been to our fair share of local sushi joints and Oasis is very comparable to the rest despite all of the poor reviews. Edited to add: I went with my BFF on 8−9−13 and they’re still great!

You pull up to this place and question it, walk in and amazed how clean and well kept it is. Great sushi for a very good price. High prices rolls were around 12 – 15, but mainly around $ 8. They have private rooms for karaōke, quick service, and very friendly staff. We meet the owner and he is very friendly, wonderful and happy to see you enjoying his restaurant. A must in Louisville!

So we had a Groupon for this place and figured we’d check it out after the Derby. We got there and we’re immediately greeted by the hostess/waitress. She was very pleasant and helpful. However our sushi lacked taste and didn’t impress. The fried rice with added chicken didn’t have any chicken or barely any. The spicy shrimp was over priced with the six little shrimp included. Once we got the bill, we couldn’t believe the price and questioned whether the groupon was already deducted. Unfortunately it was so the whole experience was not worth the price for the quality of meal we received.

I have to admit I didn’t know what to expect from this place but it turned to be pretty good! The rolls are great and I love the fact that they serve«southern» food items like the fried green tomatoes. The restaurant isn’t the prettiest on the inside but the food is great.

Horrible! We didn’t even stay for dinner. The waitress brought us water ten minutes after ignoring us… THENTOOKTHEMBACK! We immediately left. Had a coupon on vacation, what a horrible experience, I got my money back for the coupon.(Thank goodness!)

It was a late Monday night so the restaurant was empty. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I started off with vegetable tempura. It was a large portion with a variety of different vegetables fried in a light batter. It comes with a chipotle mayo sauce but i declined it an opted for some traditional soy sauce. It was hot and yummy. Only a few minutes later, I was impressed by a mango crunch roll and classic philly roll presentation. It was well prepared and tasted great. They also have a small selection of sake and import beers. So if your looking for good sushi, I definitely would recommend Oasis. If you want a fancy restaurant with ambience and décor you might want to find the nearest P F Changs.

Worst sushi in Louisville I’ve eaten sushi in at least half a dozen places in the area, including Tokyo, Kobe, Caviar, Osaka, and my current fave, Dancing Sushi, along with a few others whose names elude me. Suffice it to say that I know what sushi is supposed to taste like. The place is on Preston Highway, and that should have been my first warning; there are very few restaurants in that part of town that have impressed me, but I am always open to being proven wrong. From the outside, the place looks like a dive; the iron-framed and barred door was not an encouraging sign, but I went in anyway. The place was empty. In most sushi places the chef greets you like a long-lost friend. This one ignored me completly. Hey, I may be ugly, but I’m the guy who pays your rent. The lady who served us was competent and polite enough, but she never smiled once. I was hoping that the food would make up for it. I was wrong. The sushi was mostly rice, and what little fish there was tasted dry and not as fresh as… well, anywhere else I have eaten. The whole ensemble was smothered in an odd-tasting sauce that I could not identify and was almost, but not quite, pleasant. I hate writing critical reviews; it feels like I am committing an act of character assassination, or at least, micturating on someone’s dreams. Normally I would say nothing, or damn them with faint praise… but anything less than the truth would be a disservice to those who read these reviews. In the spirit of the Golden Rule, I exhort you to stay away. I shall never again darken the door of this place.

Such a dive spot and pretty awesome karaōke rooms, great booze selection, and it isn’t ever packed. I want to love it. But for my tastes, it’s just good. The sushi is tasty, but the selection is lacking. Nothing with fruit, or unique combinations to try. Tuna, salmon, imitation crab, avacado, cream cheese, and shrimp made up almost all of their rolls. Three trips and I’ve never been disappointed but not impressed either. I also find it a little pricey. 4 basic rolls — nothing crazy, fancy, or big and 2 cups of miso soup for 40 bucks. Luckily I had a Living Social so we basically paid 25 instead. My favorite was the Crunch roll that had an awesome sweet sauce. The Philadelphia was fresh and yummy, but small and not as inexpensive as it is at most spots. I might be back for a grand karaōke night, but I’ll definitely come prepared with a discount of some sort to make it justified for me.

I’ve been avoiding the stellar review that this place deserves, just because I’ve been keeping it my secret. I threw my dh a party here. It’s otherworldly in the karaōke rooms, and you can have guests embarrass themselves while enjoying some of Louisville’s best sushi. I love how you can buy entire bottles, if you need the liquid courage to do karaōke, this serves perfectly. What I love most, is this great place is on Preston Highway! When you drive by, you have no idea what is in store for you. It’s truly great

This is the best place for Tokyo style(private room) karaōke in Louisville, mostly because it has three rooms to choose from and an accommodating staff. Maido offers only one room and an early close. And so far those are the only options I have found. I hope there are more. Beyond that the sushi is really pretty good. The prices are average, but they offer 530 — 630 half price drinks, except Monday, when its half price all day. So that is another plus. The outside is not a good indication of what is to be found inside, so get over it and open the door! I want to go back and spend the night karaōke-ing like in New York or Tokyo. I am glad to find this type of establishment here in Louisville.
