Nope, nope, nope!!! My first, and last, visit was a few weeks ago and I still can’t get over how bad of an experience I had here. All I wanted was a manicure and I live right down the street so I figured I would try my local nail spa. I understand that walk-ins have to wait and I typically don’t have a problem waiting. The issue I had was the fact that there were only 4 technicians and 6 people waiting and they told me it would only be a 15 minute wait. I ended up sitting around for ½ hour before I was given a seat. After taking my seat, the tech had me soaking for another ½ hour! She wanted me to soak so I wouldn’t leave! Just as I was about to leave, wrinkly fingers and all, she told me I was next. So there I am, with wrinkles and mushy fingernails, and she starts working cutting my nails. It’s only then that I realize the workstation hadn’t been cleaned from the previous client. There were still nail clippings and dust on the workstation from the person before me! How could I have missed this during the ½ I spent with my hands laying in lukewarm water!!! Hummahsaywhaaaaat?! Just after she finishes clipping my mushy nails and clearly not giving a crap about sanitation she shows her disregard for clients and just leaves the workstation. So there I am… clipped, mushy and wrinkled with no idea what the crap is going on. I don’t speak Vietnamese so I’m assuming there is some huge nail emergency that needs her attention, STAT, rather than my young Benjamin Button fingers. She finally comes back after a few minutes and starts putting on the clear polish. But just before she puts it on I tell here there is still polish on my fingers from my previous mani. She rolls her eyes and hastily grabs the acetone to clean my fingers. The polish job ends up being… OK for the most part but after hour and a half all I have to show for it is a simple manicure that could have taken 10 – 15 minutes. I don’t expect much when I go for a manicure and I’m well aware of protocols while getting a manicure. But I didn’t expect this to take as much time as it would take to get a perm, remind the tech how to do her job or end up with fingers that look like they belong on a 90 year old!
