Great pizza and sandwiches. Cold beer. Stopped for lunch after NRA convention and took friend for first time he had A great meal

It is now named Pleasure Ridge Pizza. Waitress said they were forced to change the name. Looks like it was a garage at one point. Sat outside on a late Tuesday night. after L’ville soccer game. Immediate service by the waitress. Brought our beers out promptly and new all the beer they had. Not a huge selection but so many can’t do that. Food took a while especially since we were one of last folks there. Maybe they were shutting kitchen down but still had an hour to close.
Food came out and pizza was pretty good. We got the champ it was loaded withsausage, pepperoni, olives, onions and shrooms. Thin crust was a little cardboardy but not terrible. Italian sub had good taste but none of the veggie fixins just the Italian meats. Billed as thick meat lovers but only think Ayer of the meats. Menu over sells that aspect of th sub. Also got the spagetti and meatball dish with melted mozzarella. Sauce did not impress me but meatballs were large and plenty of mozzarella. Overall a slightly above average place with good service.

For a local, college town pizza place it was exactly what I thought it would be, upbeat, nice music playing, sports on all 5 tv’s inthe main room. Great environment. 5 stars
Wait staff: efficient, nice, exactly what I thought I would get, nothing over the top. They did there job. 3 stars.

I ordered:
Spaghetti and meat ball with mozzarella cheese based on 2 recommendations, with side salad and 2 bourbons and cokes (in a tall glass)
First: side salad was fresh, plenty of vegetables, croutons and lettuce with a little condiment plastic container of thousand island dressing, I always have to order another to finish my salad.
Second: drink as ordered. Delicious, and in good time.
Main course: very good, this steaming hot baked dish of 2 huge meat balls and mozzarella was perfect. The bread was ok, I like garlic bread that is buttery and smells of garlic, this was dry and herbed. Food was a solid 4 stars.
All in all… Very nice experience in a pizza pub in Louisville ky.

We tried this place since we are working right down the road at the new U of L apartments… And man is it good! The pizza is awesome and comes out really fast… Prices are great especially around lunch time… And don’t forget the $ 1.50 train beer!

Pizza great! Love the thin crust service not the fastest but they were very nice. Lots of people knew each other in the bar since it is a neighborhood bar.

Pizza is great. Almost as good as bearnos! The wings are amazing too. Fun place to watch a UofL game too!!!

I am traveling in to Louisville this week and had a great pizza and fun time. Lindsey provided great service and the pizza had great flavor and no greasy. I recommend the champ. Ask about the train wreck. It is a fun way to deal with the passing train. It is an old garage that has been remodeled with lots of U of L memorabilia.

My dad I went here for lunch today and I have to say that our experience was a pleasant surprise. Both my dad and I ordered what I can only describe as a «meatball bowl.» It’s 2 large (seriously) meatballs covered in provolone and marinara sauce. It’s the perfect amount of food for lunch and you could tell that the meatballs and sauce were homemade. Our entire check was less than $ 10.00. I will definitely go back again and try some pizza!

My husband and I ended up here today on a whim. We have been wanting to try it and pulled in. We were one of the only people in the restaurant and the only one on the patio. Our server was super nice and very attentive which you don’t always have when you set outside alone. Their pizza smelled amazing but we went with 2 of their «famous» toasted subs instead. I had an italian and my husband had the chicken and peppers. They were fantastic! The bread tasted homemade (not sure if it was but kudos if not!). I had the chips that automatically come with the sandwich and he uncharged to the fries. There was nothing special about the fries and the chips were just Lays but all in all it was a great meal at a great price! I would love to go back during happy hour. Apparently they do drink and jello shot specials every time a train passes by — so that could be interesting as well. We do plan on ordering take-​out pizza soon and are looking forward to being impressed!

This was an interesting neighborhood bar. Don’t go in expecting any solitude as many patrons will want to speak with you. The best part about the place is the $ 1.50 beers when a train goes by. They ring a bell and you can order a cheap drink. The pizza is a thin crust pizza that is pretty good, if over priced. I think even the 12″ cheese pizza is $ 10, and toppings are a couple bucks.

Food is good and the meatballs are huge
I think there is a bit too much sauce on the spaghetti I usually order lite or half sauce
If you order the spaghetti for carry out make sure they include a fork. Or at least have one of your own

We went on a whim as we were driving around the area looking for a bite to eat. When we walked in the crowd was extremely crude with a male patron peering down the shirt of the female bartender (who proudly stated her name was on the window). We ordered 3 sandwiches to go… and it took over 25 mins. We decided on take out because of the crowd that was there. Once we got home and sat down to eat… it was the most disgusting food I have ever had. I think if you were drunk that you would think it’s worth eating.
Next time, we will just keep on driving! BLECH!!!

Not impressed! I placed a carryout order for a large thin cheese… extra cheese and got a very sub par slab for the price. Although I was charged for it, there was no extra cheese, just enough to cover the pizza… there was almost no sauce on it and the overall taste was bad.
And to top it off, I called it in and the young lady on the phone told me ten minutes and I can pick it up. Once I got there, I ended up waiting another 30 minutes until it was ready while the lady at the bar gave me excuse after excuse and telling me «Just three more minutes», like I couldnt tell time.
I love pizza and had drove by this place numerous times and hoped for something great to replace the recently closed Bearnos and Windy City Pizza/​Queenies but this was not the place I was hoping for.

Strange little place. You never know which crowd will be there. One night it will be the NASCAR fanatics, the next night it is karaōke and the patrons will be exclusively 65+, the next night is the group of grown men that remind you of your dad who will hit on your friends. I can appreciate that all of these people have found their niche on any particular night of the week, but the food isn’t that great and the service is weak. I go there only out of convenience in location, and drink specials when the train passes by is an OK perk. Could be better.

I went with the wife last week. This place looks like it was renovated from an old automotive garage. It has outdoor seating. We were lucky enough to have one those coupons where you get twice what you paid for it. So, we got a combo basket and a large specialty pizza, which would cost about $ 7.00 and $ 17.00 dollars respectively sans coupon. As to quality, tastiness, and quantity, they get high marks across the board. The pie reminded me of Wick’s Pizza, which is a good thing.
You get about the same thing for about ½ the price and are spared a bunch of drunken douche bag frat boys chasing tail all over the place.
They should roll out specials for football season. We tailgate, but would stop for pre tailgating!

Stupid train. Drink specials every time it goes by. Which is often. $ 1 jello shots and I think $ 1 longnecks. I think, was a little blurry. Good food (I got the philly to go and ate it for lunch)

A friend and I went there to try it out. LOVE IT! Its beside the tracks so there’s a drink special for $ 1.50 domestics and $ 1.00 jello shots every time a train goes by. A special on Guinness would get that fifth star from me! I also had the steak sandwich without the green peppers. The food is yummy. Typical bar food, good execution, prompt service. Not a big pizza person, but I know its good here. These folks also own Pleasure Ridge Park Pizza– another sports pub on my end of town. Home of the Crustless Pizza. Thin crust is really good too. Full Bar great stock. A little too warm out to have the dining area opened up like it was. Best thing! I can wear a royal blue shirt and it be recognized as nothing else but a blue shirt that matches my eyes! Its a Cardinal Bar! Well… I’ll go ahead and give it that fifth star JUST FOR THAT REASON! Go Cards!

Nice little pub with easy access on Crittenden. It was too hot to open the garage style doors to the outside but inside it had a quaint sports-​bar type of atmosphere. I had a meatball sub which was good. The onion rings were generic frozen onion rings, but were cooked and seasoned well. The individual pizzas we ordered (a veggie pizza and a ham/​pineapple build your own) were both served on a thin crust and very tasty. A good lunch value, not too crowded and fast service.

This place just opened within walking distance of my house which is its first plus for me! However even if it were on the other side of town I would still make the trip to enjoy the pizza. Their specialty is thin crispy crust but they also have a regular crust. As you would expect they have all of the usual toppings nothing particularly fancy but the pizza is very well executed in my opinion. The sauce is flavorful and not too sweet which I love and the toppings mingle very well with it. At most local pizza places that I have tried (which is a lot since I love pizza) there always seems to be one thing I don’t care for either the crust, the sauce, the veggies ect. but this is just about the only one that I didn’t experience that with. They also serve sandwiches, appetizers, and salads and have a full bar which is always a plus for a pizza place. Even better than just the full bar is the fact that they do promotional priced drinks whenever a train goes by (it is right next to the tracks so you KNOW when they pass by). I would say that in the normal amount of time you would be there to enjoy dinner you would probably have at least two trains pass through so that means at least two rounds of super cheap drinks! Overall I m pleased to welcome the Louisville Pizza Pub to the St. Joes/​Germantown area and I hope they will be around for a long time to come!
