I’m gonna take a moral stand here: this place is blasphemous to the human race. I mean… look at that photo: raunchy. I have to admit something… as an adult, I’ve never been to a club where someone charges me a cover just to get in. Call me old school, plebeian, what have you… it’s just damn backward to me to pay to get into a place to pay more.(I have of course paid to go to concerts, yes.) We were wedding guests and the wedding party invited us out to this place under the impression we wouldn’t have to pay(and, to the wedding party… we shouldn’t have… but the fools at the door weren’t organized). Their«VIP» area was behind a velvet rope with sheer curtains on a raised couch section… not. that. special. There was some crazy ladies dressed in Jedi style boots dancing above the bar — troubling, very troubling. Waitresses in lingerie — even more troubling. Hammered & tan, bungled & botched, the crowd was 25& under. Don’t wear a bow tie, have a moustache and dance because a tanned — blinged & greased kid will pick a fight with you & call you a «monkey.» So, if you’re the initiated, tourist like me: *it’s for kids that drink bud light and don’t mind egregious acts of inhumanity, misogyny and music that makes you want to have a lobotomy.

Came here once to do bottle service for a celebration with friends. The service was great and the bottle prices were very reasonable compared to what you would pay in other cities. The club is big and there were no problems getting a drink from any of the bars. So if it’s a club type/VIP experience that you’re craving, then this place is probably one of your sole options in Louisville. With that said, Bardstown road is almost always a better choice. Edit 1÷31÷10: Visited this place again. Terrible VIP atmosphere. There were more people in the«VIP» section than in the actual club. It was nearly impossible to move around. Definitly skip the VIP bottle service here.

If I hadn’t sat in the VIP, hadn’t been in the company of millionaires and hadn’t been treated to bottle service, this would have been one of the worst nights of my life. The crowd at Hotel is mix of gold-diggers, meatheads, thugs and wannabe rockers. The DJ was awful, playing predictable and sometimes outdated dance mixes. Because it was the Saturday of Derby weekend, I’m guessing I saw their top DJ. So, that’s pretty bad. Hotel is huge, but it gets very crowded. The dancefloor is gobbled up by people waiting in line for drinks, but the VIP is pretty navigable and well-guarded. I’m tired of clubs dressing servers up like strippers. It’s low-level prostitution, and Hotel makes a point of it. I don’t need my bartender to wear lingerie and dance on the bar. I just want my drink and polite service. Rock Bar is connected through a hallway door, and it plays more aggressive music, but it’s poserville. Again, a bunch of meatheads, but this time they have fauxhawks.
