This is all on delivery order. Let me tell you everything was hot when it arrived. So fresh and hot that we had to let it cool down before eating. General tso was very tasty and so was the sesame chicken. I know we didn’t venture much but considering we just went with safe since we were ordering delivery and had never eaten here. The fried rice had this really good kind of like smokey flavor to it. I also ordered the crab ragoon which were tasty. They also threw in a free order of crab ragoon so I have crab ragoon for days and he ordered fried wonton and let me tell you they were good and def not lacking in meat. The only thing I didn’t care to much for was the egg roll it wasnt bad just wasn’t my favorite.

This is absolutely, hands down the BEST Chinese Restaurant in town. Their food is spectacular. I have never had a bad dinner there. This is the only Chinese restaurant that I get food from anymore. If you enjoy authentic Chinese, great prices, wonderful service and a great environment, eat here!

There are three things by which I judge every Chinese restaurant: their crab rangoons(an example of their frying abilities and stuffings), their egg drop soup(requires a decent broth and exemplifies their abilities with subtle flavors), and their fried rice(somehow restaurants screw this up all the time). I have tried these three dishes from every Chinese restaurant in the Jtown area and Happy China’s is by far my favorite. Their egg drop soup is not overly thick, yellow, or salty and has tons of wafer-thin wisps of egg. It is one of the best I’ve had. Their crab rangoons are fried in clean oil and have a thin, light shell. The filling isn’t overly crabby and isn’t sweet(I HATE sweet rangoon fillings. It’s crab, not dessert) without too much onion. They automatically come with sweet-and-sour sauce, so I don’t have to make a special order. Their fried rice is good. It has a decent flavor and the veggies in it are fresh, although they don’t put the fried egg in(I’m pretty sure that’s illegal) and it could use a bit more soy sauce when it’s cooked. But at least it’s not dry! I was a bit bummed that it took an hour for my delivery to come, but it came with a free order of crab rangoons, so how can I complain? They also have an easy-to-use online ordering system, which made the wait a bit easier to bear. I highly recommend you try these guys at least once! It’s not innovative, but the classics are done well and you definitely get your money’s worth.

I’m not really sure what to expect from Chinese food restaurants such as this, to be honest. Back home in Northern Kentucky we had our go-to place and that’s the standard I have that no one else seems to uphold. I have a few friends that live nearby Happy China so this is where they get their delivery and have seemed at least generally pleased. I was craving Chinese and since I was at Half Price Books just down the street, figured I’d swing by Happy China to get some to go. The inside is super small– only about four tables. Obviously they do not plan on people coming in to eat. A couple of kids– I’m assuming of someone who works there– were taking up one of the tables with games, coloring books, etc. They were also pretty loud while we were sitting waiting for our food. The place isn’t very clean, either. The windows looked like they could have used a cleaning about a year or three ago. There was only one trashcan and it was the size of one you put under a bathroom sink. The worker who was at the register snapped at me when I reached for a receipt I thought was mine but apparently wasn’t. Just kind of an all around odd experience. The food was fine. Cheap for lunch(less than $ 6) and comes with an egg roll. Actually, the egg roll was my favorite part of the meal. It came with fried rice and there didn’t appear to be an option for white rice which I would have preferred. And the General Tso chicken that I ordered wasn’t spicy… at all. If I lived over here I’d probably find myself ordering from here quite a bit since they do delivery. But since I don’t, I’ll stick to eating probably anywhere else in the area.

What a surprise! My experience with«delivery Chinese» leaves a lot to be desired. — bland, cold, more veggies than meat. But not this time. We ordered Mongolian Beef and General tso chicken. Both came with egg rolls, and were delicious. Also got some crab Rangoon, and glad we did. Less than $ 20 for all of this, and fortune cookies. Delivered within 40 minutes. Can’t beat that! Will order again. You should too!

We have ordered here several times in the last 5 years and each time I am more disappointed. The food is warm at best and often an hour to two hours late.

I was hoping for a good take out Chinese food place in Louisville and my fortune cookie confirmed it lol This place is about as good as it gets for Chinese take out. Great food, great quantity and great prices. I had the General Tso combo platter for $ 6.95! With tax and all you get a generous helping of chicken, rice and an egg roll for under $ 8! For this price I wasn’t expecting much flavor or quality but Happy China surprised me. I will definitely return and I highly recommend giving this place a try when your hankering for Chinese take out. There are also some eat in tables if you want to sit down.

I have ordered from this place twice now and both times the food has been awful. First time it was cold and this last time i ordered general Tso chicken, there was hardly any sauce and mostly water in the bottom of the tray! Make sure you have a backup dinner plan if you order here!

Have never been disappointed. Fresh and delicious! We’ve tried many other Chinese restaurants and this one is by far the best! Our entire street orders from them and delivery is awesome!

Love this place! We have it delivered almost every Sunday and it’s always delicious. The owner always remembers what we like and the free crab rangoon never hurts:)

Very disappointing! The food was very greasy and warm, at best. As a frequent traveler, I keep an open mind as to the style/type of food. This place met no type of expectation you would expect from any restaurant. The place looked dirty and was not a comfortable place to eat in.

Happy China has gone from an OK Chinese restaurant to an EXCELLENT restaurant. I judge Chinese food by the soups. If the soup shows care and excellence the rest of the meal usually follows suit. The hot and sour soup is full of big chunks of veggies and a perfect fat rich chicken stock. Yummy. Carry out or delivery.

This is the best«fast food» chinese restaurant by far! Yes it’s your typical take out chinese place but I’ve tried several other similar restaurants in town and believe me… this is the best!!! The service is always friendly, quick and very reasonably priced. I’ve had several different items on the menu and none have dissappoionted. So if you’re looking for a quick fix of good chinese food, whether you want to eat in or carry out, definitely give Happy China a try. You will definitely be back.

We have been ordering from this restaurant for ages and ages hence it opened! We love when businesses deliver! :-) But when they deliver and they are economical and have GREAT food — this is the place! ;-) The owner/order taker is ALWAYS so sweet, patient… we went inside ONE time — AND she REMEMBERED my VOICE! :-p lol. This restaurant gives a LOT of BANG for your buck! We usually order from the combo menu even though they have a family menu — it’s still more economical and we get enough food for dinner that night, lunch the next day and sometimes dinner the next night! :-D lol. *P.S. If you order over 20 bucks you get a free order of Crab Rangoon — and theirs is to DIE for… it’s not the sweet — desert-like kind, but it’s not too cheesy or crabby either — it’s the perfect! I also recommend the Lo Mein Noodles with Tofu is AWESOME! The staff is SO sweet. I’ve never had a bad experience. The chef is extremely sweet. This place is definitely worth the time!
