Chicago Steak and Lemonade is a fried food lovers paradise. As I looked through their carry out /delivery menu I was struck by the fact that nearly everything on it was deep fried, with the exception of the frozen lemonade. I was also struck by the fact that, despite the fact that they call themselves Chicago Steak, the menu is very heavy on chicken. You can get chicken tenders, chicken nuggets, salad with chicken, chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, fried chicken, chicken gizzards, etc. However, you can also get a number of other interesting items like gyros, jalapeño poppers, cheese steaks, etc. By far the best thing on the menu is the frozen lemonade which comes in many many varieties(I think they said 24 but I might be exaggerating that number). Even when delivered the lemonades are garnished with fresh fruit and look more like a blended cocktail than a simple frozen lemonade. They also taste delicious. However, the rest of the delivery service leaves much to be desired. Despite having a $ 20 minimum for delivery they also charge a $ 2.50 delivery fee and even when the delivery was 20 minutes later than promised they didn’t waive that fee. Unfortunately those 20 minutes meant that the fries were cold and inedible by the time we received them. While they delivered huge portions of food they didn’t get all of the order right, sending two cherry lemonades instead of one cherry and one strawberry. Luckily both were delicious anyway. They also didn’t send anywhere near enough condiments or utensils for the amount of food that was ordered. So, while Chicago Steak has some high points, like amazing lemonade and tons of artery clogging comfort foods, they dropped the ball on delivery which earns them 3 stars and an A-OK. I’m just not quite a fan yet.
