Poor service on a slow night. None of the food was all that good. I tried the Bourbon Barrel burger with the bacon mayo. Couldn’t taste bourbon or bacon. Just charred meat on a bun. My wife had a chicken quesadilla. It was bland and void of any real flavor. Ate there because we were staying at the attached Marriot Hotel. Won’t be going back to this restaurant.

Louisville Marriott near 4th street. Goodwood Louisville lager was delicious. Light and not hoppy. Wings were delicious as well as the loaded fries.

Great bar food… Nice atmosphere… And very reasonable pricing… Close to the convention center and attached to the Marriott

I so wanted to rate this a 5. Very understaffed. Not busy and yet drink orders took more than 20 minutes to place and receive. Food, once it arrived, was good. But the waits were long and not one apology. We had a group of around 20 which was a come and go situation so never one large table to deal with. I bet they can do better!

Worst service on a night that management should have been prepared. KIDROCK concert at Yum center on New year’s eve night and restaurant wasn’t that busy and couldn’t even get drinks. It isn’t that hard to run a restaurant. Waiter was worried about phone then earning a excellent tip.

I must say the food was pretty good! We ordered the wings to start and they were really good! I had the cheesesteak sandwich and it was delicious and huge!!! Like def enough for two people to eat on easily! It was not greasy and it was very tasty. The French fries were really good! My husband got the bourbon burger and he really liked it! Overall this was a very good meal without having to leave the hotel. Our waitress was not the friendliest, she was right to the point and nothing else. No bid deal but it’s always nice to have someone friendly at least. The bar is nice, lots of TV’s throughout so you won’t miss a game that is for sure! Give it a whirl!

Stopped in to kill some time during the Ironman Louisville race back in October. The beer selections were decent along with the pricing. Glanced at the menu and nothing really looking exciting so decided to just stick with the beer but next time I am in the area I will be sure to give it another try.

A lot better than we thought. Great place to watch the game. Food was average plus. We asked them to put a specific game on TV and they did. Good quality bar food and a lot of draft selections. I would give this place a «why not.» The nachos were really good. They are big enough to split… even after a few beers and you you are kinda hungry and feel as though you could eat everything. Split them… I promise.

Nice location attached to the Marriot downtown. Lots of televisions and open seating most all of which have a nice view to the outside. They have a really large projection screen in the back great for watching sporting events ect. The food here is okay as well.

Food is fair(at best) and expensive for what it is, and drinks are overpriced. About what you would expect from a «Champs». They do have the NFL Sunday Ticket, which most sports bars in the area seem to be lacking, but half of the TVs and video screens do not have the games on. Rather, they just have advertisements for the NFL Sunday Ticket, which makes very little sense. They also have a discounted beer and food menu, but they have run out of every single beer and entrée on the list, so they have none of the advertised specials.

It’s a sports bar inside a hotel, if you haven’t guessed that already. But Champions hurdles over that admittedly low bar. It’s an excellent place to watch games, with TVs all over the place and good sight lines. There aren’t of ton of other options for that downtown, which is nice. As you’d expect, things are a bit pricier because of the hotel setup than they would be in the outside world. On a recent visit, for example, I got the nachos and added chicken. It was $ 15. That’s a bit steep, although I will say that these things were severely loaded and I needed help to even come close to finishing them. Most of the other food items get a similar markup, but you won’t complain about the quality. The most surprising thing about this place is the beer list is above-average, which is hardly ever the case at a hotel bar. Stuff from Stone, Founders, Dogfish and the like, along with locals like Goodwood and West Sixth. That’s very much appreciated. And a special shoutout to the service, which has always been unfailingly friendly and attentive. Again, not always a feature of a hotel bar, so this is another area where things are better than expected. This place is mostly for people staying at the hotel, conventioneers and the like, but if there’s a big game on or if it’s a college football Saturday, it’s not a bad destination even if you live in town.

The service was great, from waitress to manager. They were on top of things. Went for a Sunday afternoon to watch football. They had all the tv’s tagged with which games were playing. Also have this portable table speaker so you can hear your game which was so cool. Wasn’t too packed either, plenty of room to sit. Have good drink specials to!

Savor local craft brews with rubbed chicken wings. BBQ chicken wings were messy and sloppy. Strip steak, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. Steak was tough to cut but sports bar in hotel so lower your expectations.

I cannot fathom how Champions has anything less than 5 stars! The staff is amazing and the customer service is out of this world! Thank you to Tim, Greg, and Erin for making my Conference experience even better and helping to bring my Vacationship to the next level. They have daily drink specials and 4 – 7 happy hour. I personally recommend the Hummus and Tzatziki appetizer!

Okay, being in Louisville on vacation, my preference would be something local as opposed to a chain, but for dinner and soccer viewing(Woman’s World Cup Semifinal USA vs. Germany), this was a great place for a meal, some drinks, and the TV. In this particular case, just about every TV in the restaurant was tuned to the soccer match(even the ones in the… men’s room!!!) and there were a lot of fans. But more to the point — this place is huge, it has a more than adequate selection of beer, cocktails, and bourbon offerings, and a good enough variety of pub food to satisfy everyone. I figured to take the edge of this being a chain restaurant, I should at least order as many items off the menu as possible which contained the word«bourbon.» That included a Goodwood Bourbon Stout from the bar(the best of a limited number of bourbon-featured drink) and a Bourbon Smokehouse burger. Both hit the spot. The burger was cooked to order and accompanied by bourbon infused mushrooms and onions. It satisfied my «messy good» criteria. Champions is on the first floor of the Marriott, a good location in which to dine if you’re staying there, and not a bad walk if you’re staying nearby.

Average sports bar with decent food and service I didn’t choose Champions because of stellar reviews or word-of-mouth, but rather because it was pouring at the Convocation Center and I didn’t have much time for lunch. Our service was slow and spotty, but the beer list was okay, as was the food. It’s probably worth it to venture closer to downtown for better eats.

Philly cheese steak wasn’t that great. The pickle spear had more flavor. The bread wasn’t toasted and obviously came out of the bag without being warmed up. The service was great but the food was eh.

I mainly come here to grab lunch because it is so convenient to my work. And its funny because I really have almost no interest in any sport, but this place is kind of awesome still the same. The inside is very cool — whoever designed it gets a thumbs up for exquisite attention to detail. I have tried many things on the menu, but so far, my favorites are the Ul-Timate Chicken Wrap, which is Grilled BBQ Chicken, Tomatoes, Fresh Cucumber & Mango Slaw and Lettuce — and the Classic Club, which is Roasted Turkey, Shaved Ham, Bacon, Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Mayonnaise. The reason I can’t bestow a full five stars is that fries come with every sandwich. And one time I asked about swapping out the fries for one of their steamed vegetables(already offered as a side to other things). They said yes, but then every time I order it that way it takes literally 20+ minutes to get my order. And my lunch is always during a slow time at the restaurant! So thank goodness I have an hour break, because if it was any less I would never have time to eat. Luckily the staff is very nice!

We met my brother and sister-in-law here to watch at UK game and while it was definitely out of the way for us on a Saturday, it turned out to be a good place to watch the game. It’s much larger than it seems from the outside, with plenty of seating options for groups and truly enormous televisions. I’m not sure I’ve ever been to a sports bar that has larger TVs. We shared some orders of nachos which were pretty basic — good but not particularly special. The service was friendly and laid-back. I’m not sure this is my favorite place I’ve been to watch a game but it was a nice afternoon. Definitely remember to check-in if you come here because they give you 10 percent off your food.

I gave this a low rating not because of the food, but because of the service. I was a guest in the hotel, stopped by to get a piece of Derby pie on Halloween, to take to my room. It’s a bar, I get that and I know they are busy, but I literally waited half an hour for a piece of pie. I would have left but they were quick to run my card as soon as I made the order! SMH. Not cool people. Aside from the poor service, the pie was wonderful. This was my first Derby Pie experience so I can’t compare it to others but I really enjoyed it. It was EXPENSIVE, probably because the restaurant is located in the downtown Marriott, but it came with a small scoop of chocolate bourbon ice cream which was a nice touch. Derby pie is a chocolate and walnut tart in a pie shell usually with a pastry dough crust. It is also commonly made with pecans, chocolate chips and Kentucky bourbon.
