A decent, little liquor store. Pretty good beer and wine selection. I was mostly happy and pleased that they had Leinenkugels :-)

I had to stop in here to get a bottle of wine because I left home without the bottle I was supposed to bring. I was in and out pretty fast. They had a big selection of merlot which is what I was after. Convenient location.

Nice family owned shop. Not a huge selection but they get the job done.
The prices seem to be higher here than elsewhere, however I live down the street so it is convenient.

Captains Cellar. It’s been there forever, and it probably always will be. Average prices, average selection. It’s a little run down, but who really cares? Captains Cellar one distinguishing characteristic that makes it the absolute best liquor store in town: THEY’RE OPEN UNTIL 4AM — SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! I’m kind of a night owl, and I often work until 3AM or later on the weekends, so this is a life saver for people like me. Thanks, Captains Cellar. I appreciate the service you provide. I’d probably give them five stars if the prices were a little better, but their prices are about the same as the other places in the neighborhood, so I’m cool with that.
Just edited to ad that the liquor laws have changed in Louisville since I originally wrote this. No more 4am package sales in the Metro, but they’re still open until 2am, seven days a week.
