Finding a reliable place to get your hair cut can be difficult. Big City Styles is smack dab in the middle of Downtown Louisville and it’s a fantastic shop. There are always at least 4 barbers ready to cut your hair when you walk in, and you can also get a manicure and pedicure at this place.
Unlike most barbershops, this place has tall ceilings and a nice waiting area, so instead of packing in beside everyone else waiting, you can sit back and watch TV without being on top of someone. They have a small selection of snacks for sale and they are just a stone’s throw from 4th Street Live. This place doesn’t try to be trendy, the décor is rather plain, but the shop is always impeccably clean.
I’ve been going to Big City Styles every two weeks for about 2 years now. In that time span, I’ve never been disappointed with my haircut. Each of the barbers is friendly and accommodating. If you’re new to the shop, take a picture of the way you want your hair to look and the barbers will make it happen.
As an African-​American, once i find a place that I can rely on to cut my hair, I go back over and over again. This is the place for me.

In town from Chicago and needed a quick nail fix. Ended up staying for a hair style and manicure. Everyone was so nice and the lofty vibe of the space and comfy vintage barber chairs made it a super cool experience. Great location for travelers and local clientele.

Needed an emergency haircut while in town and stopped in without an appointment. Was met by Melissa immediately and made to feel at home. The building is big and cool with great music that just had a very chill and relaxing environment. Everyone said hi and was very nice. Melissa gave me a fantastic haircut and I feel amazing! I Will definitely be stopping in when I’m in town. Give them a try for sure!
