I love North Carolina barbecue, which is what Rick’s sells. The barbecue sauce is a North Carolina barbecue sauce, vinegar-based, thin and spicy good. If you want Thick sweet stuff they have that too. I had the pulled pork barbecue sandwich it was delicious and so is their coleslaw. I will definitely go back

A new place in the area, they moved in late fall. This location is near waysons corner, maryland across the route 4 bridge on plummer lane. The location is a small out of the way strip mall, poor location not used by normal traffic. You usually only go there if you are heading to one of the few business’s there. Now as to the food. Its ok, not great, and hopefully they will survive long enough at that location to prosper some and get better, because as it is, it’s not worth going to. I ordered a full rack of ribs, running 23ish dollars. This is fine if the ribs are excellent, but these are average. The ones I picked up weren’t cooked enough, still needed some cooking time to make them good eat-off-the bone. Good taste, good aroma, but not cooked enough. Also they have 0⁄10 in sauce rating. Instead of having good Rib or even BBQ sauce to go with their ribs(they put it on the side in a little container) they have basic watery sauce that you can pick up at the store for a few bucks. Sorry, If i’m getting a rack of ribs for 25 bucks, the sauce should at least be decent quality. No, very poor sauce. You can’t have poor sauce on good ribs. So, as it is now, I ordered there once but it isn’t worth my money to go back for average ribs at a high price and poor sauce to go with it. I’m guessing the subs and chicken and meals are of equal quality since if you can’t get the ribs right, you aren’t going to get the rest right. Again, its a new place, out of the way so it won’t get a huge amount of business so its going to take time to see if they last at that location. Based on me living near there for 40 years, its not. To survive they are going to have to make decent food to get people to come, are going to have to advertise a lot and probably a good delivery driver won’t hurt either. As it is, just try one of their basic meals first(rib platter, sub, etc) and see how it is. A great place will make me come to them anywhere they are, and this place is going to have to do that in order to drum up business. UPDATE: 11÷7÷15. I decided to stop by the join again this week to get something to see how it has changed. They are still in business which has surprised me, they have the front window all decorated up nice, i hoped they were doing ok even with me thinking they wouldn’t do well. I stopped in to get some ribs, early afternoon on my way home. Nope no ribs girl says it will be 45 minutes before any are ready. Guess they haven’t learned much in a year after all. Maybe they should stick to the bbq they say they are good at, because when it comes to ribs doesn’t seem to be going in the right direction.
