How can anybody hire this company! Shame on you for distroying a 140 year old perfectly healthy ginkgo tree! If your arborist(if one was actually there) does not know the difference between a DEADASH and a LIVEGINKGO you should not be in business. Shame on you and your destructive business pratices!

According to the Washington Post and the National Park Service, Greentree mistakenly cut down a thriving and beautiful 140-yr ginkgo tree in Farragut Square, mistaking it for a dead ash tree on the other side of the Park. The company was required by its contract with the Park Service to have an arborist on site. If this company’s arborist can’t tell the difference between a live ginkgo tree and a dead ash tree, then i don’t think anyone should hire them for tree work!

I have not personally used this service, however I was very impressed by Greentree’s cleanup effort after the June 29 Derecho that knocked down tons of trees in the Arlington area. Most of Arlington lost power and while driving around, I kept thinking/hoping that the trucks seen along the roadside were Dominion Power trucks. No such luck. Instead, Greentree trucks became the face of the cleanup effort. I was surprised they had so many trucks available and they were really quick about gettiing debris out of the road. I assume they were contracted by Arlington county to handle the cleanup. They definitely left a positive impression. Kudos!
